Indy Jones Height Requirement

that was a mistake disney took care of it imeditly and on the disney calnder its off that list now. heres hoping they fixed what needed to and will be open the rest this year

They are real strict on Indy.

Not only will they measure you at the queue entrance but there are 2 other spots closer to the ride and it is likely they will measure you at 1 of them. Those 2 are more accurate.

My son was just 46 (I'm not sure you could be closer) last time we went and he got measured at least twice every time we rode.... once 3 times.

Before going I built a measuring stick and we practiced standing straight and tall before going which helped.

PP is correct. Even if the CM at the very beginning of the ride, let's your child get by, there are 2 more "measuring stations" and unless you are really lucky, if your child is not the required height, one of those CM will most likely tell you no. They are very strict on Indy! Took my DD a long time until she was finally able to ride it, and then when she finally did, she was terrified!

They were strict enough for Star Tours, slipping a piece of paper between the top of the stick thing and my son's head...seriously, a millimeter? (and it was b/c he wasn't standing straight while hubby didn't know to tell him to stand up straighter) For Star Tours? And that was right before sending people through to the actual ride, so it was very disappointing.

I imagine they are even more strict with Indy.

We are at DLR right now (leaving tomorrow ) DD2 is my daredevil and was dying to ride CA Screamin'. We had prepped her before the trip that she was very close and that she might not measure up. Sure enough, we tried 2 days in the afternoon, and it was a no go (less than 1/2 inch). We had a very late night last night, so we slept in this morning and did not get to the parks until shortly after 10am, so we decided to go to DCA first and headed straight for CA Screamin'. This time she made the measurement and got to ride. The only thing we did different was to head to the ride first thing in the am.

My advice to you is to hope and pray your son grows that extra inch, but to prepare him for the fact that he may not make it. Also, head to Indy first thing. That made all the difference in the world for my DD (but my height difference was smaller).

And DD LOVED CA Screamin' and wanted to ride again. We decided not to press our luck.

They seem to be pretty strict with height on Indy. My DS was just tall enough to go on Cali Screaming (was measured at the start but not at the front of the queue).

Everytime we went on Indy he was measured just before he was allowed on the ride . Of course he passed easily but it was annoying cause he was well over the restriction.

A hint, try standing side on when measuring. My DS stood with his back to the measurer and kept ducking cause he was afraid of banging his head.

Please be careful trying to "get around" height restrictions - they are there for the safety of your child...if he/she is under the height requirement then they possibly won't be held snugly in the seat which could lead to injury.

Believe me, I know how sad kids can be when they are too little, but I know we all want to keep them safe and happy!!!

I'm sure 1" won't be the difference between life and death.

Probably not, but they set it at a certain height for a reason, right?

When Indy was new I was like..what 12? I believe it was that year.

Anyway, obviously I met the requirement, but I WAS a short 12 year old..I sat on the outside and my legs flipped out of the ride a couple times around sharp corners. I'm not a ton taller now (*hangs head*) and it hasn't happened since (I dunno if I'm just more aware of it now?). I just remember that scaring the crap out of me. So that really has nothing to do with height requirement, but Indy is a REALLY jostley ride. I wish I could take DS on it but it's SO jostely I'm happy to wait til next time.

I remember not getting on big kid rides at a local amusement park year after year even when all my friend's did. *Sigh*

Our DD got stopped in December from riding Indy. She was so close I doubt you could have fit a piece of paper between the top of her head and the height marker.
