Individual Charging Privileges?

We are sailing this coming April. We have two rooms.....sailing with my dh, my mom and our three adult children. I wanted to have everyone attach their own credit card to their account. Our plan was that dh and I would purchase wine for dinner (for example) or treat everyone to a drink before dinner, (by charging on our account) but if my kids or mom want to shop or buy drinks during the day, it would go on their own credit card.

I was pretty stunned when my travel agent said we could not do this. She said you can only have one credit card per room.

Does anyone have any experience in that the charging privileges could be amended once on ship? It seems like a terrible hassle to have to figure out all the charges for 3 people in a room. I've sailed on many other lines (HAL, Princess, RCCL, Carnival) and this wasn't an issue.

Your travel agent is wrong. Each KTTW card (room/key card) can be connected to different modes of payment.

I'd suggest you call your TA and tell them you know otherwise. Tell them to call DCL and set it up the way you want. You can't do this until you check in online, so, MAYBE, your TA just can't see how to do it now.

If they won't do it for you, yes, you can set it up when you check in at the port.

Thank you!!! I appreciate knowing now! rather than waiting until we're on the ship. We make our final payment soon and then can check in not long after, so this gives me time to get the card numbers from all the kids and my mom.
I will inform my TA, so she knows for the future. Honestly, I'm slightly disappointed......I would have thought a TA specializing in Disney would know this info. Thank goodness for DIS boards!

Should just be able to set this up when you check in on line. I was given the option to place a different method of payment on my husband’s account, after I did my own for check in (the other option was to select same a primary guest). Just have everyone give you their Method of payment info (cc number, exp date and sec code) when they give you their passport info and you can do it at check in. I’m a super dooper control freak, so doing that myself and not giving that info to a TA appeals to me. But as Schmoo said, I know you can do it at port check in and on board at guest services. The mouse wants its $$$!

I’m just getting ready to do the same. My bestie and I are sharing a room but want separate credit cards. Can I call the DCL phone number on their website direct to do this or does my travel agent have to? Thanks!

You can do it during online check-in.

Thank you I tried but it was confusing saying payer, etc. I was scared to mess it up so wondered if I can just call and have done by phone?

I believe the only choices are, do it during online check in, or do it when you check in at the port, or once onboard at Guest Services.
