If you had the choice between flying AA from Manchester via Philadelphia or Virgin via Atlanta with a Delta as a connection which would you do?

Has anyone booked via travelup or budgetflights? I'm a bit wary of booking via companies I don't know but they are cheapest.

I'm trying to do a very very budget offsite no theme park trip next Easter so if anyone has any better ideas I'd love to hear them. These flights are about £600 each

Thanks

both airports are quite busy.
ATL can be crazy busy, but since you're flying Delta it could be easier.
PHL is busy, but the MAN-PHL-MCO (with AA which merged with US Airways) is a route that's been flown by many a DISer with little to no hassle.

I would go towards whoever is cheapest, and has the most comfortable layover time

third parties are good as long as you don't have any amendment to make (initiated by you, or by the airline)
booking direct is often more expensive, but stress and hassle free

We're going this thursday and we booked with travelup. It's the first time we've booked with them, so don't have any previous experience. What I do like though, is that they'll email you if there's changes to your flights to let you know. We've had changes to the flights twice now, and we were immediately notified :)

As above, no significant differences between airlines so choose the best price/times combo for you.

Haven't used either of those agents - prefer to deal directly with the airline as there are often changes with indirect flights (for example, we had to reroute our entire outbound flight for our next trip). I would use a reputable third party (netflights, Expedia etc.) if the price were right. I have NOT heard positive reviews about travelup (mainly about them offering cheap flights than not honouring them, so probably okay if you actually get tickets in your hand); haven't heard of the other.

thank you all

My gut is to pay slightly more and deal with the airline direct too. Someone in work did the Philadelphia route last week and he said it was fine, in flight entertainment not up to much but I don't use that anyway!

I think I'm more comfortable with the timings on that route so may have made my mind up!

Oh I need a new ticker. Just booked. Yay!

Congrats :cool1:

We are also doing a cheap trip around that time :thumbsup2

Thank you :cool1:

I'm very excited as I really didn't think we'd get back there next year. I am really going to try and stick to my resolve and not to go to disney ... we're thinking of going over to the dark side and getting the universal tickets that are just over £100 as we've not been since 2011 and WWOHP was so crazy busy we didn't see it properly.

That's our plan. Cheap flight, cheap hotel, Universal/Islands, food, drinks and fun. :thumbsup2
We usually book a Disney hotel meal and take a wander around DTD for a little bit of Disney. This year I'm thinking breakfast but banking on skipping DTD.

We are doing both routes next year - PHL in April and ATL in August! Done PHL before with absolutely no problems! I'd just choose the most suitable for your dates! :thumbsup2

Went for PHL. Better flight times. Can't quite believe we are going. Mind you I have been doing a second job since September so we can do these trips!

It'll be worth it for the time that you're there! I've had 2 jobs since February 2013 now and although at times it's a hassle I wouldn't trade being able to go on holiday as much as I do to quit!

Oh and do Universal - we do the 2 park, 1 day ticket most years and it's pretty fab if you can plan your day and get round speedily. We just like having that one day not at Disney.

It's what gets me up of a morning! The second job goes straight into the holiday savings account, am already a third of the way there. Each time I feel like quitting I think disney fund
