When I was growing up we called them brats

For what it's worth I have heard the term and have unfortunately come across some. They tend to be only children from upper income families.

Okay guess that is why we think our DS is one...there is a little more to it than that and they also tend to fit the ADHA profile when first looked at but when tested by drs. they don't fit it after all...so we tossed it up to this...but don;t actually speak of it...just jokingly say it....it is a hard concept to buy into I agree...but sometimes I wonder if I put my DS in a school the speicalizes in their type of learning would he progress better....????

but he is not mean or disruptive or anything like that - But if we all read alot on this I think almost ALL children in one way or another fit this profile... I wouldn't ever use it as an exuse for him....

DS was an Indigo child this morning. He was mad when I told him it was time to shut off the sprinkler and come in because I needed to take a shower and get lunch ready. He held his breath till he turned blue-ish and, upon realizing I didn't care, gave up.

WOW. When open thread I thought people was opening to the type of pyschic kids. I guess I was wrong. There is very little support for pyschic kids. It's hard going through what going through today.

Well, I guess this explains the number of bratty kids I see on a daily basis. And I blamed it on the parents giving their kids everything they want. Like the little girl (around 4) I saw in Target the other day who slapped her mom in the face and no punishment ensued.

I believe in evolution but the problem with this Indigo Child thing is that evolution is adaptive; it helps the species survive by allowing the species to fit better in its changing environment. Traits that make people want to jump up and down on you aren't likely to make you more fit to survive.

I first heard about Indigo children many years ago on a thread on the Indigo Girls (the rock group) message board once. I couldn't believe that there were people who bought into this nonsense. I'm usually pretty open minded but I have to agree with the posters who say that this is nothing more than parents looking for excuses for children who act like brats.
