Here's my dilema. We have DD6 and DS2 and will be driving from Fort Wayne (2 1/2 hours approx.) We can either drive the day of our flight and take a break closer to Indy at McDonald's or Burger King. We then would continue to the airport and have a 2 hour flight. If we go this route any good places to stop along the way closer to Indy to let the kids run around for awhile?

We would park at the Indy airport. Anyone had any experience w/ Thrifty parking at the IND Indianapolis airport? There is a nice coupon on their website for $4.79 a day. How long did it take to go there & get to the airport?

Our option 2 is to stay the night before in an airport hotel that would offer free parking. Anyone know of any good deals on hotels w/ free parking? This would split up the trip more.

Thanks for any help! :flower:

Sienna--

We're from northern Indiana, too, and have done this drill a few times. Several airport hotels offer park and fly deals. Unless you have an early morning flight, that's probably not necessary from the Fort, unless you just want the peace of mind of being there. I haven't used Thrifty, although I have used another independent, off-site lot (Indy Park Ride and Fly--indyparkflyandride.com) and they are near Thrifty and less than a five minute shuttle ride from the terminal. The airport lots are actually close and very reasonable (indianapolisairport.com).

We are from Cincinnati with a 9:40 flight out of indy.We are driving up the night before for piece of mind.I figure it is 84.00/night-35 for parking -30 for meal(breakfast buffet included and ds 10,ds 8 can eat). This leaves about20-30 dollars to know we are there we won't get stuck in traffic etc plus we can sleep longer which means we have more energy at Disney. We are staying at Days Inn airport.the rate is 80.00/night for the park and fly but we need to pay an extra night of parking.

I'm in Fort Wayne too! We love Indy Park Ride and Fly if we don't have an early morning flight. For those early flights, we usually do a park and fly package at a hotel. We have stayed at the La Quinta, and the Sleep Inn. I think it was $80- $100 for both of these. I also think they both had free continental breakfast.

I believe the Adams Mark Hotel also has park and fly available. One tip I read somewhere was to make sure you ask if their shuttle service is truly available 24 hours a day. This is so you don't get stuck at the airport late at night and have to get a taxi back to your hotel.

Yes we've used Thrifty before, in March 2004. I don't know if it's because it was our first time or what but it seemed waaaaaaaaaaaaay out there! (We were used to St. Louis where the offsite parking lots were right across the street) The people were great, valet parked our car, had it waiting and heated and everything on our return, but it was so far out from the airport we thought we were lost. Having said that and used it once we would use it again. We used the coupon too.

Priceline, priceline, priceline. We live just north of Indy and always stay the night before at an airport hotel that we get on priceline. Go to www.biddingfortravel.com for help on finding your hotel. We usually will bid 3* and get the raddison and they do have park and fly. We have also bid 1* and gotten the baymont. They don't offer park and fly (they may now), but the price can't be beat!
