Just wondering, who out there has been lucky enough to be cast as an extra in this show? How did you end up getting picked? Got any cool stories to share with us?

Being picked when I go in September is my new favorite daydream... give me some material!

Thanks!

I wasn't chosen but DH was. He really wanted to be in the show and tried very hard to get the announcer's attention. He wore a very bright orange shirt and an "Indy-like" hat. We sat close to the front and when they asked for volunteers he stood (he's 6'4"). He waved his hands while our entire family pointed to him. We got the announcer's attention and he was selected. We have wonderful pictures and it is something that the entire family will never forget.

My wife was picked several years ago. She had on a Minnie Mouse sweat shirt, sat near the front, and when they asked for volunteers she was not shy about standing up and waving her arms back and forth to get attention.

I'm not Phrank's wife, but I did exactly what she did. When they ask for volunteers, don't be afraid to stand up and yell and act crazy! That's what gets their attention. I wasn't wearing a Minnie shirt or anything special---just stood up and yelled to let them know I really wanted to be in the show!

It was alot of fun, but since this was in July, the costume was sooo hot! Thankfully, the CM's had bottles of water for us after the show.

Just jump up, scream & yell! Good luck

DH of Momoftwins here (don't tell her I'm using her sig) - I was picked during our last trip. Sat kind of close to front, maybe 6-7 rows up, and in the middle section. Didn't act too crazy but did have a big smile and waved my arms like mad, plus the DK and DW were pointing at me and shouting too.

Then after I got picked, I also got to be the one who was shot. Same thing, just smiled big and over-acted to everything they said. Had a great time!!

I always thought it would be fun and I wanted my DH to be the one in the show. He wouldn't go for it, so I decided I would. I didn't think I would get picked.

We were towards the front and to the right of the stage, but not way in the front. I had a bright red Wisconsin t-shirt on. I just waved and said "pick me".

My DH took lots of video, and you can hear my youngest son say to his dad "is mommy coming home with us?" I think he thought I was to stay there forever.

Got to meet Indy :)

personally that is not my thing but a young friend of ours was picked in the same way most others said...not being shy but jumping up, waving, yelling witty comments to the pickers and making sure he was seen, being sweetly "semi- obnoxious" .obviously they want outgoing people. he was about 1/2 way back and in a white tee shirt so don't think color really matters, just not being afraid to make a fool of yourself:)

My husband was picked. We were up in the handicapped section, so not close to the floor at all.

He stood up and waved when they asked. My mom screamed and pointed to him. :D

He was HILARIOUS. They chose him to be shot and it was too funny to watch. He way over acted. ::yes:: He staggered for a goof minute before falling. It was soooo funny.

He had a ball! Good Luck! :)

My wife got picked one year and she's always trying to get picked for everything. Another year my BIL got picked and all he did was sit there.

I'm not sure if letting them know you want to be picked is an absolute. I've been picked for a lot of other things like the street shows and the All Star TV (when they still had that in the studios) and I always try to hide so I won't be picked. I think it depends on the mood of the CM doing the picking.

DH had been picked and our kids thought that was the neatest thing to see their dad up there on stage. He got picked for being very loud:bounce:

Thanks for all the great suggestions and information every body!! I can't wait to go and try my luck! :)

The MGMStudios link for getting picked is great! - is there anything like that for Epcot / Magic Kingdom?

So far to be in show,we always get seats around row 10 just to right of center stage.I just yelled loud and waved arms when they were picking folks for cast.It was a great fun and awesome experience and DW got some good video and pictures.I still go and see the show each trip but no longer try to be in show I've had my turn more than once,so I think I should let others have a chance for the experience I had.::yes:: :wave2:

I got picked three years in a row (sit toward front, act like a nut when the talent scout is looking your way and wear a bright shirt). My daughter turned 18 this year and it was her dream to get picked when we were there this spring.

She did the same thing and was picked.

It adds a lot to the show for you as a participant, plus for your family.

If you want to be one of the extras, should you only scream when they ask for the second round of volunteers?

i was picked out for my sunglasses back in 92.
had a great time on stage.
it got hot.
really hot.
