My family includes me, DH, DS9, DS7, and DD4. I'm trying to plan our July visit, and I'm wondering about our MGM day. Because the kids get tired and it'll be really hot, I'm pretty sure we will only have time for one of the stunt shows. So my question is, if you were me and only had time for one of these shows on a hot July day, which would you do and why?

Thanks so much.

I have seen Indi MANEY times so i would go see LMA.
BUT if you have never seen either it comes down to if you like cars or Indi...
they are both great shows and you will not be disappointed in either :thumbsup2
Sorry it is not what you asked but it sounds as if you have not seen either!!!

because of your sons, i would aay LMA

i know i like that better then indy!

My boys liked both equally well so I would recommend you do both. But if it's a really hot day and they're tired, I would choose Indy because it's closer to the front of the park and you'll be out of the sun. LMA is in the far back and you'll be in the sun.

My son has slept through Indy every time we have gone, but loves LMA. It is a personal preference for your children though. Both shows are great...

Here's my thought on this one... Indy has been at MGM forever (lol..or close too!) and LMA well...it's a new show and I think it's only around for the 50th anniversary (correct me anyone if I'm wrong or misinformed).

Last year, we went to see Indy...not really worth it. But..you have to see it once I guess.
It was ok, entertaining but... nothing spectacular.
We are going to see LMA this year...hoping it's better :-)

Have fun!

We'll be doing neither in the future!!! We've done Indy several times and just are tired of it now. So, a few weeks ago we did LMA. At the point in the show where the motorcycles start their thing, one of the riders went down, a tent was put around him and we were told to leave. My 12 y/o dd was really distraught. Said she never wants to go there again. But, this is an overly sensitive girl, not a boy. I'm sure boys would think all that was very cool!!! We never heard anything about the accident so figured it all turned out okay.

Both are great shows. I would go with Indy. LMA is really great but it is really hot, my daughter slept through most of it. Also Indy runs more frequently, LMA has fewer shows per day.

Hint: If you want to be in the Indy show, wear a bright shirt and when the casting director introduces his or herself and says today he or she will be casting from the audience, jump up and yell like an idiot, before he or she asks for volunteers. You'll get picked everytime. I've done this 3 times, it's a real treat for your kids to see you in the show!

LMA.. but be warned.. LMA takes ALONG time to load up even with no lines. And if there are lines.. you will be exposed in the sun. The queue areas until you get under the stadium are MURDEROUS for LMA. Plan to be there along time

Have your kids seen any of the Indy movies? If not they might not enjoy a stunt show about a movie they've never seen. OTOH, the seating for Indy is in the shade, which is a big plus.

They spent MILLIONS on constructing this theater, the sets, the cars, and staffing the shows.

Its absolutely built to STAY after the 50th ends.

As is "Soarin' " in Epcot (another "50th Anniversay import".)

The only "50th" show to disappear after the Celebration ends looks to be "Cinderellabration".

We went to both last week. we had seen Indy 8 years ago--same show--boring! My kids thought Indy was a waste of time--my oldest said it's just like any other stunt show we've seen at other theme parks. we liked LMA because it was the first stunt show we'd seen with cars. I have 4 daughters and they all liked it. We arrived late and sat up high in the shade.

seating for LMA is shaded too (massive stadium) but the problem is the queue areas.. except for the last area.. all completely exposed along the road

My vote is for Indy because of the shade, and my DH and Dkids (boys) votes for LMA. We enjoyed both but my DH and DS liked the exploding cars and fast pace stunts. Why not go both???

Based only on this question I would choose indy. The LMA was one big pain in the butt to us. The line was horrendous, in the far back corner of MGM, in the sun and then the theater is HUGE! It takes forever to wait, get in, see the show, get out and back toward the front of the park. While its a good show, there is too much "down time" during the show while they set up etc... there seemed to be a lot of talking during it too. Of course, I've seen both multiple times and our 8 yr old son asks only for Indy now. Both shows are worth seeing at least once. But our pick is Indy for the shade alone.

IF you do both, do Indy first because after LMA you will want to jump under that Heavy Ball at Indy :confused3

( ok fine....the kids like LMA....I thought after 5 minutes I had seen the whole show...)
