I was wondering if anyone knows why there is a statue of an Indian on Main Street at MK? Its across the street from Casey's. I know there must be a reason there is a statue of an Indian on Main Street. Does anyone know why?

Is it from the old Tobacco shop?
I think I heard there was a tobacco shop on Main street at one time.

There was a tobacco shop on Main Street when WDW first opened. Then smoking was not a cardinal sin. I used to smoke and would always stop there to get WDW matches. Th Indian was part of that theme. The tobacco shop is long gone, but the Indian just wooden leave.

Too funny!

Hey, the Indian is there because we use it as a photographic measuring stick for the kid. We get her there on every trip--the first time she couldn't even stand alone!!

Thanks for answering my question! Everytime we go to WDW I want to ask a CM about the Indian but I always forget!

Oh hey, thanks for posting this!

Been planning a trip for what seems like forever, and I'm going to add a visit with the Indian to my list. My husband's not a Dinsey fan in the least (shameful, I know), but he's always shown an interest in Cigar Indians.

Can y'all give me a good idea where I can find him? Never been to WDW before so TALK SLOWLY! :D :D :D Oh--across the Main Street from Casey's a pretty good description; that'll do!

Also, anything resembling a souvenier of him? Ha--besides photos of course!

Yea, I always wondered why that Indian was there. Now I know! Thanks!

That's why I like this board. It brings back forgotten memories. When we return to the Magic Kingdom next year, I'll have to make an effort to take a picture of it, if it is still there. It is a double rarity. Not only do you seldom see cigar store Indians anymore, but, for obvious reasons, most of them were of the female gender. Enjoy your next visit to the Magic Kingdom.
