India pavilion may be coming....

gotta give em credit though.
Wish I had my own Citgo, 7-11 or Days Inn. Enterprenauership $$$$$$, Being my own boss PRICELESS :cool1:

I personally think that would be awesome! I'd love to see an Indian pavillion with a top notch restaurant attached!

I wonder if there are any thoughts of working something into AK though? Especially since it fits the park's theme? Hmmmmm....

Either way....Disney needs a great Indian and Thai restaurant. JMHO!

I would love to see a new pavillion from ANY country. Can't help but to enhance the whole Epcot experience.

As long as it's done to Disney Standards, I agree!

but,
I just can't get pass of the possibilities for attractions if it were to be India
for example:

Cashmere's Great Escape
Agni-II's Flight
MISSION:ISLAMABAD
MoRoc'in Rockets
Figments' New Delhi Sandwich Shop
:earboy2:

:rotfl: I like the Figments New Dehli Sandwich Shop!

India is sort of represented in AK as Asia. India did have a part of the Millenium Village, though it was a small part. I think it would be cool to have an Indian pavillion there at EPCOT.

If we had Figment's New Delhi Deli, then the theme song could be

"Weigh Down a pound of Swami liver"

Without a smilie attached that is just offensive.

Agreed as well... And actually, some other comments on this thread are offensive, smiley or no smiley attached. Yes I can take a joke, I get it. But I think using stereotypes or any other uneducated comment is rude and offensive. I am not a party pooper on the DIS, but when I see things like that it just rubs me the wrong way.

Anyways, I too would love to see any country added to the WS. I think WS is one of my absolute favorites at WDW.

I don't think anybody meant any offense, but I agree that some of the comments are a bit much.

An India pavilion would be fine with me, but its pretty clear that what it all comes down to is if the Indian government, or some other entity who wants to promote the country is willing to foot the bill. (Unless the WS strategy changes)

Hopefully this rumor won't suffer the same fate as the rumor of the Spanish and Korean pavilions.

While I would welcome any addition to the WS, isn't India getting enough exposure over at AK ?

Hey Iger, ya' here that? We want more countries in WS! {just snip Ei$ners apron strings in September, boot him out the door with $00000, and go for it!}

Definitely not enough! I guess you're thinking of the Maharajah trek, but that's about animals. A WS pavilion is about people and culture. India is my top choice for a new pavilion; just think how fantastic the food and the architecture would be, not to mention the possibilities for live entertainment! It would be a very colorful pavilion.

Second choice is a tie between Russia and Thailand.

.... I'm refering to EE.
Does "EE" refer to Expedition Everest?

Mount Everest, the highest peak in the Himalaya Mountain Range, is in Nepal.

And Expedition Everest is a thrill ride, not a World Showcase pavilion that celebrates the culture, architecture, food, and products of a particular country -- not Nepal, and certainly not India.

India would be a great addition to World Showcase.

From what I've read by a WDW CM, the preshow area of EE is a bigger wow then the actual ride. Maybe I've got the wrong mental image in my mind of what the Nepal area looks like because of it's location to Asia in AK. But even the Asian area of AK probably has as much Indian theming as any WS pavillion would have.

Like I said, I'll welcome any addition to the WS. I just associate India to AK.

Hmm. The Asian theming of AK strikes me as more Cambodian than Indian, but I haven't been in a while.

I feel the same way. The cultural cracks are unnecessary. Most of the people on this site are adults, and I am not old enough to preach to you. But for the children who post and read here, here's my lesson for the day: Don't say/post anything, even in jest, about another culture that you wouldn't feel comfortable saying to a member of that culture to his/her face.

For examply, I wouldn't feel comfortable saying:
1) Your country can barely feed itself so it is probably too poor to afford to be a part of Disney;
2) A portion of your country is unsanatized and doesn't bathe;
3) Most Indians in this country work/own 7/11s, Days Inn, etc.

One of my few bad Disney experiences was seeing some idiot make fun of an asian family while I was on line for Test Track. It bummed me out. [Guess he didn't realize that he happened to be a lot closer to China than the American Adventure.] Anyway, what bummed me out was not that this asian family had to endure 10 seconds of this idiot's banter. It was the fact that this idiot was doing it in front of his own 2 kids. What a father figure.

But I do really like Indian food so its all good..Lol I wish they had an African Exhibit.. I really do enjoy African food!
