I booked our April Trip 2 weeks ago $79.00 each way from Dulles to MCO. I just looked and the Fare has dropped to $49.00 each way? Now what to do. I see they charge $25.00 fee to make a change and I can only get a the refund in credit vouchers to be used in the next 12 months. I don't think I will be flying in the next year. Is there anything else I can do? Has anyone ever been given a refund on there credit card from Independence?

Sorry I can't help you, but I just saw the sale this morning, so am scrambling to get my act together for my spring trip. That is a great sale. We leave out of Dulles too.

We encounted the same price drop in Nov. Dulles to Orlando that you have and the only thing Independence can do is credit your account.
(Little did I know that I'd have to fly to NY for a funeral less than 2 weeks after we got home so I used mine almost immediately).

Guess that's why we always try to fly SWA. When the price drops, they will issue a credit back to your credit card.

THANK YOU THANK YOU :grouphug:

I booked with Independence Air for a trip May 13-22 out of SYR for $69 one way. Total round trip with taxes is $175. The lowest I was finding was $223 for the times I want to fly. I could of flown Jetblue for $193 r/t but flight times were not very good for me.

Once less thing to check for everyday :badpc: ...now if Disney would release AP rates for May I would be all set.

Well, I've not flown them before (I had the other thread asking about this airline), and with the good fares for where I needed to travel, I booked a flight this a.m.

Just NOW realized I put in the wrong date for return flight...so I called them, figuring I would just eat the penalty...my error not their's....and the customer service rep was so nice about it all, and said beings the ressie was just from this morning, he would correct it without penalty. Perhaps other airlines would have done the same, don't know, but I was pleased that they even offered to do so and I didn't even ask....they just offered.

Does anyone know what size jets they usually use?

Hi Mickey4ever!
I've been saying good things about this airline since they got up and running. Their customer service has always seemed to go above and beyond and I had several situations like yours (where they weren't obligated to help me without charging me a penalty or fee, but they did!). When our flight was late leaving Orlando due to bad weather at Dulles, they put snacks out for us and the pilot on my NY flight actually came out of the cockpit to do his pre-flight speech. Even a member of the ground crew waved at my daughter while we were waiting to take off. I remember those little things.

Size of the jet depends on where you're flying...
They've started running the airbuses on the Dulles-Orlando route and they hold about 150 I think. We flew prior to that so we had a 50 seat jet - really nice size and comfortable as well. They also have some 30 seat jets as well.

Thanks Karen for info on jet size...

Glad to know that an airline is at least trying to have good relations with its customers....so many of them say they do, but I've encountered very rude and unhelpful people at the counters of several airlines...and believe me, I'm not a rude or "asking for more than what I should" type of flier, I just want to be treated respectfully and my questions answered.
