Just booked our air reservations from IND to MCO for our Dec. 6-13 trip for $119.70 total, per person R/T. This is on ATA. SWA and ATA have the same rates of $131.50 per person, but we belong to ATA's travel club and got a discount, plus we like the assigned seats.

Gary, I see you're from Indiana and I wonder if you can help me with this. We can get SWA tickets out of Indy for $113 in September. We would be driving from New Albany to Indy to get the flight. There's a Friday evening flight that departs at 7:00 and I'm wondering what time we would need to leave New Albany to deal with the traffic going north on I-65 particularly near Indy at rush hour, and still arrive in time to park and check in. The problem is we'll all be working Friday and would need to leave work a little early. Would you have any ideas about this? Thanks!

I live in Muncie and just took I-65 to Louisville on Wed.. There were a couple of areas of construction on I-65 that may slow you down a little. I would plan on two hours for driving and parking at the airport. The rush hour traffic should be going the other way from your direction. If SWA says to check in 2 hours early. I would leave New Albany at about 3:00 pm. My DW says I always get to the airport too early, so you might consider that and also the construction may be finished by then.

IND is a great airport for regular low air fares with ATA and SWA going head to head and no one airline dominating. Your air fare is super. Have a great trip.

Thanks for the Update -

I've been waiting for the Fares to go down - and they did today! We live in Pendleton - just down 69 from Muncie!

I booked our first MNSSHP Airfare for October with ATA!

I just booked our November trip on SWA and got the same promo fair ($131.50) per person, non-stop! I am in SW Ohio, and this made it worthwhile for us to head west to Indy! The flights are at very reasonable hours as well. I was shopping around earlier today on the web and found non-stop fares out of Cincinnati on Delta for $300+ each. The fares for ATA out of Dayton OH, with connecting flights, were a total of $300 more than what I paid total for the SWA tickets, and those were almost all flights with one or more connections.

Hooray!

We're from the Dayton Oh, area, and are driving the extra to fly from Ind. Such great deals, and great times through ATA.

I booked out of Dayton for $333.00 for 2 - non-stop round trip on ATA. Thats better than the $300+ each out of CVG. I usually make the drive to IND also but this time DAY works out better.
