Well I decided I wanted to back out of the Desert Inn & Suites and started looking around the net. I went to www.bcaa.com (BC AAA site). I put in my dates and up popped a bunch of specials that include taxes. I am a bcaa member, but did not have to be a member in order to book this. It never asked for my # at all.
Here is the best part...I got the Hojos for $234 for 3 nights including ALL taxes! It has to be prepaid up front, but I didn't mind. That is half of what their rack rates are on their website!
Some other rates (all were prepaid including all taxes) were a couple of the best westerns for $201, sheraton for $351, Paradise Pier for $624 and a few others.
I can't believe how cheap I got the Hojos!! WOW I am so happy! I wanted to share this find with all you great boardies who have given me so much info over the years!

WOWWY, WOW, WOW - those are GREAT DEALS! (that's only $78 per night for HOJO, including tax!) :cheer2:

Thanks for sharing the link with us. :thumbsup2

Yah its a pretty darn good deal! I tried priceline but its a convention weekend, and also HSM concert weekend, and nothing came up, so I found this and was pretty happy! Can't beat that price for the Hojos! I was tempted to book the Sheraton, but decided to save the $ for more spending at Disney.

Beware, it is likely you will be asked to present your card upon checkin and could lose the discount without being able to provide your membership card.

I do have a card though, so not worried. It didn't even go through BCAA though in the end, it is a tour company they seem to be using called TripAmerica Online.

I used BCAA and got the Carousel for $79 per night when all the other travel sites (expedia etc.) and even the Carousel's own site had rooms for $112.

Wow, those are great deals! Nobody says when they are booking for. We are looking for July, and its a bit early yet, so we are keeping our fingers crossed for something. The airfare right now is over 500 pp from YVR on expedia, so we are waiting.

Oh...we are going in January. I am in Vanc. area too, but we are flying from Bellingham-Seattle and down. Have you priced that out? I got it for $324 each. Seattle was only $210, but I spent the extra figuring that is what gas/hotel/parking down there will cost anyway. We live very close to the border, so can just hop down to Bellingham in 40 mins and get on a plane. Have you flown from there? It is a riot - little teensy airport, parking right beside it and its only $30/week to park there!

Not to be a naysayer here, but I live in LA and this may be the difference, and usually use biddingfortravel.com and get the Hyatt Regency for either 40-50.00 per night. Yes they do have parking and taxes so it comes out to about 65-75 per night with everything, but still, great deal for a really nice refurbished room that has pillow top mattresses and best amenities compared to Disney resorts...

Hmm, I tried this for our dates in January and it's 127.00 per night!! That's the same as their website...Did I do something wrong?

I tried priceline up to $60 and used all my free re-bids and nothing was coming up. I am guessing its a busy weekend. I wanted to get something booked. That is a great deal for the Hyatt, and I was hoping to get it, but couldn't. I am extremely happy with the Hojos though!

Shelly - Not sure what you are doing wrong. I just went to bcaa and typed in my dates - it brings up all the specials first, then you can click more hotels to get the regular per night stuff.

what I do is call the hotel, ask for a price and then start asking about prices for BCAA, Entertainment book, etc. See what comes up. Usually BCAA is comparable to other "deals".

Sounds like a great deal that you can't pass up.

Blackhawkhobbes: we stayed at the caroussel inn last trip and quite liked it! Great price.

Lollipop, thanks for the bellingham info. We have flown out of Seattle in the past, and may do again depending on what we find. We are only 10 min from the border too. I guess we'll have to wait for another few months until the summer stuff starts coming out.

Seattle has some great deals. We are flying down in January and since we live 15 minutes from the border (Cloverdale) decided to try Seattle out. It was C$238 pp taxes included (US$218). We checked out of Bellingham but it was closer to US$300 pp which starts getting closer to AC's current seat sale prices. My parents will drop us off and we depart and return early afternoon so no need for a hotel.

What is the airport like? Easy to get to? We are flying United and were told to be their 90 minutes early which seems pretty long for a domestic flight.

Seatac is pretty big, but we have never had any trouble with security, long lines or any thing. I know sometimes its bad though. They have a play area for small kids, not alot of people know about it, just check there web site to see where it is. If you are travelling with little kids, its a good place to pass the time, plus they burn out for the plane ride! If you can, check in online before you leave your house, then do the outdoor bag check. Makes everything soooo much easier!!

Good to know about the play area. I'll have to look that up. We have to check in at the counter as our flight was so full we couldn't get seats together. Right now my 4 year old is in the row in front of me and the row beside my DH. We'll try the 24 hour prior check in and hope to get seats together. If so I'll definately go with the outdoor bag check.
