Increased ticket prices coming soon?

But in all seriousness, I would guess it's gotta be next weekend or the weekend thereafter. Though the price increase really isn't of any interest to me, as much as if they go to tiered pricing. Perhaps I'm wrong, but if they were going to be rolling out an entirely new complex pricing system, within a couple weeks, wouldn't there be some leaks getting out by now?

Let's end this conversation on FP+ and get back on the topic of ticket price increases.
Just out of curiosity if/when tiered pricing goes into effect what do you think the max daily admission rate will hit? Do you see if following the resort pattern of doubling or more?

So no increases this week. What's the odds for next week?

I expected when I awoke this morning, there would be a thread on the Dis about a ticket price increase. You never know with Disney. They might surprise everyone and announce the ticket price change on a weekday.

In 2014, the ticket price increase occurred on 2/22 and in 2015, the ticket price increase occurred on 2/23. Seems like the price change for 2016 should be coming up very soon.

Are you asking what the price difference between the tiers will be? I'm sorry I'm just confused by the question.

More or less. I'm just curious if you think they'll go as extreme on ticket price tiering as they do on hotel price tiering. The same hotel room you pay $100 for in February is $200 in December. Do you think tickets will go that extreme to start?

If you want to say "DHS offers fewer attractions than in the past, but a day ticket costs more now than then" I have no problem with that.
Although I'm not sure on the more attractions.

If you say "DHS offers better attractions now than in the past, but a day ticket costs more" I'm OK with that as well, because I think Frozen and Star Wars Fireworks are better than what it used to offer.

But to say "There is no way to deny that you get less for your ticket right now at wdw 2/12/16 on a park by park basis than you have in the past. Especially studios and Epcot." Is completely untrue. We definitely get more for our ticket.

BOLD = what I was saying
Italics = invalidated because of what I was saying

The current states of specifically studios and Epcot are downright sad...and if You say "we get more out of it still"...realize that it is due to things built when the Disneys or Eisner were in charge...and you now pay 200-400% for those things. That is not "standard inflation"

So the argument I made - you get less...is really hard to disprove unless you want to make the argument sitting on your brain.

I apologize that apparently I was ground zero for a 3 page rant I wasn't involved in and for ONCE...it wasn't really my fault.

Not back to the topic at hand...when are they gonna jack the rates on parks that are ripped apart and less of a value than they ever have been $ for $...

Carry on. ;)

Wow...that would be tough but I can't completely discount it.

I just checked the wait times and they are disgusting. I realize it's a holiday weekend and every moron has the same "brilliant idea"...but still it's out of line knowing that.

As then implement rollbacks and are angling to limit days to save employee and supply costs that they ultimately get for cheap...

It's laughable.

I think they'll start small. They'll want to set it up so it looks like people are getting a good deal while we are acclimatized to tiering.

You don't think 70 minutes for Jungle Cruise and 100 minutes for Enchanted Tales are reasonable? That's barely above a "moderate" wait time.

Under previous leadership groups I think that's exactly what would happen. It would get rolled out and then over a 5 year period they would gradually increase to what they want. Under the current leadership team I don't trust them not to just go full bore and test the level of dedication some people have.

I don't think they will do that to start maybe eventually but if you look at the survey they put out it was MK at base for $105, middle tier $115, and high $125. If they did that extreme of tiering to start I think that would cause even more chaos which is something they don't want to do.

I tend to agree...Iger is looking for a payout...Eisner and anybody related to walt NEVER gave life without a nametag a thought until it was over

Unfortunately I've been in the workforce long enough to know how surveys like that are often interpreted. If enough people are "ok" with $125 that will be interpreted as they'd be good with $150 to start.

Well...that's what was floated...and as I've said 100+ times: they don't joke about prices...
...they also don't let the public "help" with researching them...

That was and still is a weather balloon

Considering the issue with the canadian and brazilian coins right now, maybe they'll hold off any price increase for this summer to try and retain some of those international guests.

That is true but I don't think they would go to $200 extreme at the start. I could see $150 but not $200.

Either price for the magic kingdom is completely silly...they're 10 years from that economically.

It's going to fundamentally stress the system...$200 a pop and asking people to pick rides on 3 things, and wait 2.5 hours for everything else?

I don't think even wdw can handle the rip curl on that wave. People waited 2 hours for splash in 1993 or 1.5 for pirates in 1986 (I know I did) on June 22nd...

But they were paying 28/22 a day respectively.

That kind of price is a check to Paris, China, and Bristol connecticutt.

And it's usually about here where I point out that all empires fall. None have endured.

I was thinking something like that as well...perhaps may as a target for tiering better suits the goal.

Brazil isn't gonna be an issue for much longer. Their credit system will collapse under just about anything at this point.

Anyone notice the Chinese trying to speculate on Brazil recently?

That's one country in deparation trying to prey on a "weaker" economy with a Hail Mary...

How bad is Brazil off?
