Increased ticket prices coming soon?

Put it this way.

In the past, when you were arriving at a park, did you ever have a leaving guest offer you a good FP? And did you take it and why? And if that never happened, would you have taken it and why? Or offer any of yours when you were leaving? Much less 3 of them for every member of your party all in order?

If you walked into DHS at 5:30 PM in the past (whether its arrival night or you have been to Clearwater Beach or AK or US, or fishing or golfing or the Citrus Bowl) and all FP's were gone as usual, BUT somebody stops you and asks if you want free FP's for

ST 5 to 6
TSM 6 to 7
TOT 7 to 8

Fantasmic is at 8.

If you can honestly say "no thanks, I can get as much or more done without them" then you may have an argument and not an opinion. It just would not be valid.

More likely you would say "yes I will take them, that just made our ticket more valuable than in the past, even with whatever was closed.

I think some of you are arguing quality versus quantity. Quantity can be easily counted but quality is subjective. Another factor would be the level of interest. For example, I'm tired of Fantasmic and don't have much interest in ever seeing it again. Going to DHS for that purpose would feel a waste of time. Others would be thrilled to go only to see Fantasmic.

However I do see the value of the night time preset FP+. It leaves us free to only spend a few hours at a park that holds little interest for us and we can do other things during the rest of the day. Those other things for us are usually offsite which may not be what Disney intended though.

Just one example last XMAS where TOT was 80 minutes on arrival and RNR 110, but no wait for us:

No not the beach, DHS on the return.

Killing it with FP+ this week. :thumbsup2

So much better, funny how just one headliner (or 2 or 3) with no wait has improved our stay.

Yesterday was Clearwater Beach day-a fave spot of ours, esp when it was 10 below back home and 80 here. Late lunch at Frenchy's was great as usual, couple parasailers, but mostly soaked up the sun and atmosphere.

Coming back we knew we would miss VOTLMM but didn't care or expect to.

TOT and RNR were basically walk on for FP+.

Hit the 3rd Fantasmic at 10PM to cap the day, the 2 end sections were empty, then saw the end of Illuminations outside the park-love that Holiday ending.

TOT said 80 min and RNR 110.

This would have been about right in the past IMO (actually higher I think) with zero chance of FP of course.

Picked our FP+'s just last week.

Agreed, just opinion-but do you rate RNR/TSM/TOT/ST as quality? If not then maybe they have closed more quality attractions I'm just not remembering. And we still work in Frozen, B&B, Indy, VOTLM, Muppets, GMR, Star Wars Fireworks here her and there-almost all minimal waits some none.

Another factor would be the level of interest. For example, I'm tired of Fantasmic and don't have much interest in ever seeing it again.

No doubt, just like HP is about over for us at UNI/IOA.

Going to DHS for that purpose would feel a waste of time. Others would be thrilled to go only to see Fantasmic.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY EXACT POINT.

We actually were doing that (as you say-"others would be thrilled for just Fantasmic", MAYBE just MAYBE wait for one headliner, now 3 great ones-way better value than in the past.

Same (although DHS is one of our best evenings a few times each trip), but no denying our DHS ticket is far more valuable now with FP+.

DHS does offer less attractions now than in the past that's a fact.

Offering better attractions is an opinion. I like the Star Wars fireworks but others might not, and DHS has never had a permanent fireworks show and even now the Star Wars fireworks aren't permanent.

It is also opinion to say you get more for your ticket at DHS and Epcot now than you did in the past.
Until a giant Jedi Mickey rises into the sky and shoots fireworks from his lightsaber it won't match the original fireworks show.

Couple more from last XMAS week:

DA was indeed incredible. Stepping into the movie itself really, still wish it was an entire park though.

Gringotts was super cool and inventive-would have loved a "side B" that turns off into a thrill ride coaster section though.

FJ may still be a bit better IMO, the train was cool-but really only if you can tie it into the movies/books, then it is a very nice addition.

Butter Beer is way better than L Brew IMO-but I have a very sweet tooth.

Transformers a bit too identical to Spidey but very good as well.

Most everything was an hour plus (except we hit Transformers and Mummy going in at about 30 min ea, train wasn't too bad either) so we did wait far more in lines than any at WDW, but we only did a few rides a day almost always with FP+. The WDW shows/parades/fireworks/dining/drinks/atmosphere things were amazing enough alone.

Anyway we did hit RNR and TOT and Fantasmic that evening with no wait for one amazing end to an awesome day.

Did the MK NYE Preview Midnight fireworks on the 30th-soo good.

Had the big 3 FP+ scheduled before.

NY at EPCOT was so much fun, very packed but a breeze walking 5 min to/from BC.

Did TT FP+ after the fireworks to be safe.

20141231_220729.jpg

NY Day we hit the Citrus Bowl (skipped fishing until DSIL comes along this spring) to watch a rare Gophers Bowl, MIZU pulled away at the end though, but a great time for sure, followed by FP+ that night at DHS. Indy was pretty fun after about 10 years skipping it.

BC is still the best part of it all, just love that place and location.

I was holding off buying tickets because I reasoned that if Disney did start tiered ticketing I'd get better prices since I'm going in September. But after seeing how thing are going, I realized even if they do change to tiered, there's a large chance the 'cheapest' tickets turn out to be just the current price. That or they don't go with tiered and simply increase prices. So with that in mind I've gone and bought them.

That's not a fact it's your opinion.

You did noticed the color photos attached above correct? I guess I can increase the font size as well if that would help.

There is no way you can look at those arrival times and not conclude we are doing/getting more done at DHS those evenings, because of having FP+.

I have laid it out.

You show me how how we could get more done those evenings without any FP's at all.

I'm still waiting for you to answer this as well.

But that's still your opinion it's not the same for everyone. It's not fact that everyone is getting more for their money now than before.

How about you don't because the photos have gone past the line of obnoxious already.

The problem is you are actually arguing about different things. So there's really no middle ground for either side to meet on.

Who said it was for everyone? Please show me where I said that.

"I" was told there is no way to deny "I" am getting less done at DHS, thats is proven time and again above to be incorrect.

Again-show me how I could have gotten more done those evenings in the past.

Even your best guess would be fine.

Of course proving with facts would get obnoxious to folks not wanting to believe it.

What 2 different thins?

I get more done at DHS than in the past-period.

You do realize when LoL said that it wasn't a personal challenge right? It's a figure of speech!

I think of course most would say yes I'll take the FPs but when paper FPs were still a thing there was more to do at DHS.

If you say "yes" to extra FP's, then you have to admit it was to save time. MY EXACT POINT.

I am saying those (FP) where long gone when we arrived in the past-how can you not see that?

Therefore FP+ has improved our DHS plans and we get way more done.

Further-we would never trade FP+ for that exact reason over anything you can name that has gone away, esp if it wasn't even open at night.

Lets here your list of what I could be getting done arriving at 5:30 in the past without FP.

Patiently waiting.

No what is obnoxious is spamming this thread with vast numbers of completely unnecessary photos multiple times.

The two different things are this:

One side is arguing there is less to do at DHS therefore less for their money.
The other side is arguing that they can get more done in less time therefore they get more for their money

Two different things. It's possible for both to be true.

Pointless argument.

Now they (WDW) have FP+ so you can do one park (land like AK) in the AM without FP+ needed, then a second park (Land like MK) that evening with FP+.

Every day we start out doing what we want, anything we want.

There is no way to deny that you get less for your ticket right now at wdw 2/12/16 on a park by park basis than you have in the past. Especially studios and Epcot.

You do realize when LoL said that it wasn't a personal challenge right? It's a figure of speech!

Its right there above in order, and a direct response to me, quoted even.

Bigger font needed?
