Hi friends,

When driving to the airport on Monday, June 25 I noticed that the toll booth on 528 closest to I-4 has increased from 75 cents to $1.
I was told that this change was effective June 24.

The toll booth closest to the airport remains unchanged at $1.

That one will be going up too, on July 1.

The 1st one is operated by FL Turnpke, while the 2nd belongs to OOCEA, whose toll hike takes effect 7/1. But OOCEA is raising tolls only 9% for transponder users, so anyone using either SunPass or E-Pass will pay $1.09, while motorists paying cash will pay $1.25.

FL Turnpike also gives a $0.25 discount to transponder users at most collection points, including the one on the Beachline, which is still $0.75 for E-Pass & SunPass.

OOCEA also operates most of the 417, so the tolls on the southern route to OIA will be going up, as well, on 7/1.

ok - so I am being stupid or not enough coffee - either way - if I take the Downtown Orlando exit out of the airport (I think it is the North exit) I will be paying 2.25 to get to Disney? $4.50 round trip

On the way back to the airport via Beach Line (528; Martin Andersen's Bee Line Expressway to the Beaches) there is a nice cheap gas station to top off at, easy off, easy on, just 2 miles from the airport. Get off 528 at its at Exit 9 Tradeport.

Yes, if you pay cash -- 25 cents more per toll both, or a total of 50 cents more in each direction.

They're really trying to encourage locals to get transponders.
