I'm booking my family trip dinner reservations. We will be 11 ppl including my 2 yr old.
Do I book for 11 people or 10 people?
Might be a silly question but I'm just wondering as she won't show up in any of my other disney plans like park reservations on their website as she is under two.

If she's going to sit in a high chair or regular chair/booster, book it for 11. If she'll spend meals in someone's lap, then 10 will probably work.

As others have shared, you need to account for her on the reservations. Also, just a heads up that because your party is 11 guests you will automatically be charged an 18% tip for all guests, including the 2yo.

I was debating adding the pricing rules for Under 3 before, but since this was mentioned.
  • Under 3 dine free at buffet and family-style meals
  • At more traditional "a la carte" table service meals, adults can share their own food with Under 3 without incurring a "split plate" fee. But,otherwise, you pay for what you order, even Under 3

I will add that if you are in a situation where there is an ADR available for 10 and not 11, I'd grab it. When you check-in you can adjust the number by 1 in the app, or just speak with the host when you arrive. Don't let it deter you from booking a reso.

Yeah….. no. The app SOMETIMES lets you add 1. Sometimes it lets you add 0.

OP, do not bank on being able to add anyone at check-in.

I guess mileage varies, I had no issues on any of my many reservations on my last trip. Each time I checked in online it asked me to confirm the number in my party and allowed me to adjust by one + or -

Sure, it depends on the restaurant’s popularity & capacity at the time of your ADR. There are several places that are fully booked all the time. And places that have some flexibility, especially at off times. To be sure you have no problem, always book the full number of guests.Especially for a large party like the OP has.

That's typically only when rounding up to an even number, since 99% of the tables all have an even numbers of seats. There is no guarantee they will accommodate; for instance, they usually won't accept a 5th person to a ADR for 4, because it requires an entirely different table. Some have posted here that they were turned away with one additional person.

I suppose we should tell the OP that, with 11 people, book what you can online and then call as soon as the phones open at 7 am ET, guest services has better access to large party reservations that are often held back from online booking.

we were at Ohana when a large party like yours did not count a highchair child. that party ended up waiting an extra 45 minutes and seated after our large group which counted our 4 month old in our count. book 11 or 12 as even numbers can be easier to book
