Incentive news....

I mentioned to my guide that we were thinking of a 100 pt add on instead of 150 and he didn't say anything about us not being able to do it.

You do have a good point though.

Can we just "add on" at SSR because of the different end years or do we all have to buy additional contracts there starting at 150?
That shouldn't be a problem, you'd just own 100 points only that last 12 years or so.

I believe the first use year will be Dec 2003. SSR owners will be able to start making reservations Dec 1, and non-ssr owners will be able to make reservations Feb 1.

If you get a Dec use year, and the point incentive, it's not bad if you can use the all of the points.

hmmmm . . .

I just read on another board a different take on the incentive. That person understood her guide to say that you could get the $10 off or you could get an allotment of points to use for "non-DVC" stays. We'll have to wait and see what comes out officially.

The only problem with an add-on way, way, down the road is that if you only had 25-50 points at SSR and the rest were all from the older resorts, you'd only be booking studios for short stays.

Does anyone have any guesses as to how long the Magical Beginnings incentive will be around? I'm trying to hold off on any major purchases until February, but I really want to buy in !!

Thanks in advance !

On the contrary -- 50 points means that every two or three years you can take a fairly long trip to WDW. We'll be adding 65 points at SSR -- we have an exact chunk of cash to use and that's all we're spending. When our OKW points run out, we'll be 68 years old and recently retired and will probably want to travel other places as well (you know, DL Paris, Tokyo, Disneyland, Hone Kong Disney, etc.;)), so we're looking at this as 10-12 nights in a studio every other year. That's pretty good given the fact that we were ready to add on points at Old Key West, which would have cost us more, without the extra years.

That's why my guide talked me out of a small add on. I know I'll get swept in for a larger one later. I bet my DD8 will think me for later for being an only child:p

I was also wondering how long they will be offering $10 incentive. At what point did they stop incentives when BCV pre-sales were going on?
