Joe & Joanne, what browser and version are you using - maybe the counter isn't showing up because of a browser incompatability or you don't have Javascript turned on (Active Scripting if your browser is Internet Explorer). Anyway, if everything is working you should see the counter in this post.

Also, anyone who is interested in doing the plane trip to Chichen Itza, we're still looking for at least 2 people - just let me know.

- Jim

Ok, I've updated the code for the counter for 2 things: first, it's a lot shorter, actually 1/2 as short (the trade off is that it takes a second to start the counter once the page is loaded, but the countdown time is still correct). Second, the time that is set for the counter can be any timezone and the countdown will adjust accordingly, even if you're in a different timezone (the old code only correctly accounted for Eastern Time).

Now, I'm going to leave it alone - it's about as good as I can get it and still retain some semblance of sanity.

Hi Folks:wave::wave::wave::wave::wave::wave::wave:

Happy Easter to everyone.

CMatt: I am Pepe' that is Spanish for Joe, Jose is Joseph and that is what my mother calls me! Ha! Finally got around to looking at the websites you guys posted. Thanks. We found a car rental place right by the ferry pier (National) so in Cozumel we will take the ferry to Playa Del Carmen then be doing the Tulum ruins (1-2 hours), some snorkeling at Xel-Ha and hope to have the car back by 5:30 or so. Get 6PM ferry and go to C&Cs Place, have a Virgin Margarita* Then back to the Magic. I can't see giving DCL $360 for this excursion and 6.5-7 hours time when I can do it for $200.

On GC: The car rental thing is very easy to do for anyone wishing to see the island. Avis will come to the dock and get you then your off on the wrong side of the road. Do your own circle island and Hell, Rum Point, relax at beach yada, yada, yada. We will not rent a convertable this time. Way too much sun last time! I saw on another post that you should bring an old flat sheet, or even a couple so in case you want to do a private beach or even a not so private beach you have something to use. I have a few old sheets around here I was going to use for some painting projects, but they never get done so I should bring these. You can discard after use and have some room for souvies?

Jim: Been to CI, great place and very hot! Bring at least two quarts of water per person in your back packs. Joanne wants to see Tulum so thats where we will be going. I have all settings set to enable, both IE 5.5 and AOL 6 (2 servers). When I was away I saw the counter on AOL 7 so it must be something here on my computer. Right clicked on IE, properties and enabled everything, did the same with Comcast and AOL still no counter. The box does say removed?

My computer does not like to upgrade things. I tried to download AOL 7 with FTP, internet (normal download) transfer and a hard install with the disk and still had problems so I will be content with AOL 6 and IE 5.5?

Anyway its no big deal, I can use the Gregorian Calendar to figure it out. The Mayan calendar works as well, however, sometimes I have a hard time seeing all the symbols:p

As long as the Java works for the Chat Room (I get there but others have problems?) I guess that will work.

No word on DOCs yet so I am taking this week off to wait for him? Nah...I wonder if they have a card you can leave at the door before they bring the package? I know if they miss you they leave a card and drop off next day but before? You should be able to get one from the internet site but NNNNNNOOOOOOO!!!!

OK its off to church, I mean off to coffee and then church, again HAPPY EASTER!!!!! And everyone give your Bunny, I mean hunny a hug :p

*will have had too much BF by then

Hi Folks

Got that darn counter working. Thanks for the hint Jim. You mentioned settings? Well on the first page of the Board at the top is a link to CP Edit Options etc. Clicked on user settings and clicked on a few things, works great now. I think the "removed" thing was something you did on the posts I saw it on but it is here and thats it! Yippee!

Hi Folks:wave:

Here is a copy on a recent email to me for your info:

Chakkaknobb Lagoon. It is a Mexican national marine park and is beautiful. Last time we went in March a cab was $7 to get there and $10 a person admission. Beautiful beach and most important as you go to get in the water there a thousand fish waiting for you to get in and snorkel. There are lounges and palapas right on the beach at no extra charge and snorkel gear is only about $5 a person or you can share. I also did scuba there for the first time for $50 and what a great experience. There is food and drink available but I have always just brought water from the ship. You can easily spend a whole day there since there are also some beautiful gardens and even a swim with the dolphins for extra$. They have changing rooms and showers there at no extra $. I usually do a half day and then got to the downtown and walk the shops. A great meal can be had in Pedro or Poncho's backyard (I forget which is the right name) and the shop that surrounds it has the nicest range of souvenirs on the strip in my opinion - I think it is call Los Cinco Soles but I am not sure. If you can drop the kids back at the ship then I definitely recommend sometime in Carlos and Charlie's but don't bring the kids.

J & J, glad you got it to work. You were correct in that I did remove it from a few of my earlier posts. The reason being that it was incompatible with the later version and the earlier ones would actually throw errors if there was more than one on a page or they were set to different dates/times.

Also, thanks for the info on Chichen Itza. I gotten the same thing from a few others and the Frommers Ports of Call book I've got. If the CI thing doesn't pan out (we can't find another couple of people), I have booked the Tulum Ruins excursion as well, so we might end up seeing you there.

Anyway, again, Hoppy Easter to all!!!

Hi Folks
How many paper cups do we need to bring or do they have these at the drink fountain Deck Nine?

Neat Counter! Got to say so myself. JIM IS THE "MAN"

Hi Folks

Joanna: Here is some info on Chankaanab (sp)? Completely rebuilt and restored in1996, this beachfront park, just 9 km south of San Miguel, offers diverse attractions in a lovely setting. The main beach is studded with palapas for sunbathers, while just off shore there's outstanding diving and snorkeling (equipment rental and dive shop available). Back from shore is a fascinating Archaeological Park, complete with winding jungle trails, replicas from sites throughout Mexico, a typical Mayan village, and free guided tours. There's also an excellent Botanical Garden with over 300 plant species from 22 countries. Topping things off is the site's beautiful lagoon - a sinkhole filled from the sea by underground tunnels. There are several shops, snack bars, a restaurant, and a Mayan Museum. Open Daily. Admission is $10 (US) and children are free.
