Inaugural 3/31/12 Fantasy Cruise

Denise,

Is your scroll font for "Fantasy" based on the version which will go on the ship itself?

I ask because I have been looking for the official scroll name of the ship to interpret for my FE gifts.

I think it is what will be on the ship.
I took the word Fantasy from a picture that showed Minnie at the keel laying. (I think that's what it's called) It said Disney Fantasy. I did my best to straighten it as it was at an angle. I wish I knew the font too. It would make things so much easier. I think the F could be straighter and may work on it some more.
I asked one of the designers on the DIS board but never got an answer.
When I've done things for the other ships I have only just copied and pasted the signage from the side of the ship. Since the Fantasy is far from finished I used the sign hanging by Minnie.
There are a few web sites that have Disney fonts but I have never seen this font. (not yet anyway) try mickeyavenue.com

There are several people working on designs right now. I think when everyone submits their final draft we should have a poll so everyoone could vote on the one they like best for the pin, if that works.

As for the pin, we are in no great hurry to get a final logo as I won't be ordering the pin until later this year or early January.

I'm liking the designs so far. I think a poll once all designs have been submitted is a great idea, too.

I must say that the WBTA 2010 pins were very nice - I loved that we had our own exclusive pin for disers only.

Our one stateroom has increased $1841 since we booked.

I guess this is one advantage to booking on DVC points - they never go up (of course that means they never go down either!)

Wow.. ok.. call me dumb or just good luck.. We have been on two cruises with DCL.. and the third is the Alaska in 56 days

So far, once we put our down payment on the room via our TA, even though the rooms go up on new reservations, our price never does.. Heck.. we paid in full our Alaska cruise Jan 1.. we have gotten two refunds as the room price has DROPPED on the Alaska cruise. nothing like getting money back..

So. as far as going up.. I've seen other people mention this, once the deposit is down, can they jack the price up? Or are you and others waiting to grab a room?

Hate to get my final bill in December and have a heart attack and not make the cruise

On a side note.. wife and I are having a baby soon and would like to bring the baby on the MV.. At what point do we need to call our TA to get the baby booked? will it drive the cost up much, as a infant doesn't eat much

Once you've deposited a reservation, your price can not change. All we're doing is looking how much our reservation would be if made TODAY vs when we made it a couple of months ago. I'd contact your TA or DCL and add a TBA onto your reservation for the baby. Infants pay 50% of the 3rd/4th passenger fare + port charges and as of today that would add an additional 783 to your reservation. If you add a TBA now, you'll lock in that price, if you wait until the baby is born you might run into occupancy issues AND the price probably will be higher.

I would add your baby to the reservation now also. The charge for baby could match the rate for you or your wife the way prices are going up already.

I have always watched the rates go up for cruises we have already booked. Our price doesn't increase but it amazes me how much we save sometimes by booking early. When you are paying as much as we are for this cruise it does help to be able to say "I saved us $2000 booking the cruise when I did. " Usually this doesn't happen until much closer to the sail date. The way the cruises are booking up lately is just insane!
