Before I start, I am not a prude... I have worn skimpy costumes for halloween/nights out before, but not at MNSSHP!

We went to MNSSHP on the 9/23 I was shocked at the amount of SKANKY costumes we saw. "Sexy" Miss Alice, "Sexy" Mad Hatter "Sexy" anything really.

A TUTU and some bunny ears does not consitute as a costume... well maybe at a FRAT PARTY where you're gonna get laid. But not at The Magic Kingdom where there are small children present!

The amount of young teens/teens in tutus and skimpy tops was unbelievable! How their parents can let them dress like mini-*****s in Disney is beyond me.

Use your imagination and wear a costume that isn't skanky and doesn't reveal your butt as you're walking along!

I CHANGED my original costume idea (Ariel) as she wears just a bra/tail and I didn't want to bare so much flesh in the MK (The "real" Ariel wears a flesh coloured bodysuit and I couldn't find one)

:sad2:

I'll get down off my soap-box now.

You just made me think of my favorite Mean Girls quote.

~ In Girl World, Halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it.~

:happytv:

We're heading to the party Sunday night. Guess my hubby will be enjoying it more than he thought he would. :lmao:

Any handsome Flynns running around?

Eh, if the park attendants allow these people entry, I don't think the costumes could be that inappropriate.

I don't know about that. I've seen some women wearing things at Disney they most definately should not be wearing! :rotfl:

The worst we ever saw was a woman dressed as a barely clothed maid, accompanied by a teen as a barely clad nurse. Both were taking care of a 50+ age man, who was wearing only a big pair of booties, a giant baby bonnet and a pair of disposable adult diapers.
He had a giant pacifier and bottle, and they 'took care' of him while waiting for the fireworks by picking those items up for him as he dropped them. (actually, it was a good thing they picked them up and he didn't lean over)

I'm quite certain none of them were dressed like that when they came in, but once inside, some people do change into other outfits that would have gotten stopped coming in.

I bet those costume still cover more than a bathing suit would! :confused3

I wish these people would remember where they are! There are MANY small children around, it's not a bar party! Where the skank-wear somewhere else. Disney is a family show!

what y'all are not thinking about is that some people don't even possess 'taste-meters' and the word 'inappropriate' isn't even in their dictionaries. Sad, but true.

I always say 'just because you CAN wear something, doesn't mean you should'.

I kinda agree....although I would never do that. :sad2:

BUT while we're on the subject Jasmine and Tink are a bit scandelous themselves. ;)

I think we need pictures so we can judge the acceptability of these costumes.

I also just asked the wife if we can get tickets so we can work up a good moral outrange in a couple weeks.

When I saw this I was thinking of some of the actually scary costumes I've seen at this event.

The name is NOT SO SCARY-it's not a place for your slasher outfit dripping blood and scary masks. Have a private party for that stuff.

Wow it's not OK for young teens/teens to wear fun costumes but it's ok for a grown adult to call children mini-*****s. :confused3

I agree that those sexy costumes aren't really appropriate for the Disney party, but in their defense, that is pretty much all you can find in adult sizes for Disney costumes off the rack. We are going to the party on Thursday and my sister's costume is "sexy" Minnie Mouse. She is going to tone it down by wearing leggings and a tank top under the costume. She didn't have much money to spend and that one was just $15 at the Halloween costume store, whereas to order a "real" Minnie Mouse costume from Disney Store was $79.

I was there last night. I saw costumes very similar to the the one below. I agree that it may be pushing the envelope a little, but it didn't really reveal anything. I was just jealous that I could never pull off something like that...even in my younger days! :goodvibes

Got feeling your idea of a 'fun' costume isn't the same as the poster's and she must feel like they look like mini-*****s. Not sure why it is wrong to say that's what they look like if that is how you feel about the costume.

It's not like she is singleing out a early teen girl and telling her she looks like a mini-*****. That would be crossing a line IMHO. But putting your opinion out on a discussion board? Not a problem for me.

If you've got it flaunt it, but maybe you should think about if the setting is appropriate or not. A bar? Sure, dress as sexy as you want, but an event that is specifically geared towards kids and families...no, not so much.

They're not "fun" if they're letting their butts hang out and accentuating their "top half" in a [faux] corsetted bodice! Again, like I said there's a time and a place for them, and I don't think they're at all appropriate on young teens as they are provocative! Where the hell has innocence gone?

I've wore them, I'm not condoning them on adults, in the correct setting. I've got rather short fairy costume... but would I wear it in disney... NO WAY. Did I wear them when I was a young teen.. HECK NO. My parents wouldn't have let me even if had wanted to!

If you want to be a disney character THAT badly, then fashion your own, non-skanky costume, or like DisneyHardin's Sister is doing, TONE IT DOWN.

Make it fun, Make it different!
