Inappropriate behavior at Gaydays....

Viki:

Actually I was with Conc Kfor both of those two events that he described. And one of us .. as we walked away from the bus-incident.. said "I wonder how that would have gone down with Viki on the bus.." ;)

That's too funny, Knox!!! And happy birthday!!!party:

I saw some men in EPCOT yesterday wearing Bear shirts. Tell me again the complete significance of that? I learned about it here, but didn't quite grasp the whole concept.

Lots of energy in EPCOT yesterday. Wonderful to see everyone, and I do mean everyone having a good day at EPCOT (well, maybe the little kids I saw crying from time to time weren't having such a good day)!

Did see a bit of boisterous fun in the Rose and Crown, but that was not anything to get those knickers twisted over.

My favorite t-shirt of this year's Gay Days was on a very handsome young man who was walking along with a very beautiful young woman (hand in hand). His shirt said, "No, I'm not her boyfriend but you could (can?) be mine!" I LOVED IT!!! Yeah, I know. I'm weird.

But is was good to see a marked increase in families, even in EPCOT. Didn't make it to the MK on Saturday (sssssssh! don't tell) so I missed seeing the full scope of that particular form of beauty.

Also saw some pretty old folks. That was nice too. They've been through a special hell and it's great to see them comfortable enough to don an red shirt and walk along with smiles on their faces.

So? What are the plans for next year? :hourglass

Not working doubles all week, taking some time off, and actually enjoying the event! :thumbsup2

I think the popularity of the bears is that for so long they were a sub group. Big burly hairy guys were not really the rage back in the early days of the gay revolution. I think these guys have just stood up like the rest of us and said "Hey, I'm a little older, a little larger, but I'm still proud of who I am" :confused3 GRRRRRR

OK, so I "got it" then. Thanks! That is what my concept was, but when my partner asked, I didn't feel I had a really solid answer.

Next year. Well, I think we'll be staying onsite so we can really enjoy ourselves. Saturday ended up being pre-empted by life, and Sunday was too rushed to do much other than have a good old look around with smiles plastered on our faces and then rush home to get ready for work.

Maybe next year we'll actually get involved in some of the special events. Now there's a thought! :upsidedow

Speaking of innapropriate....

I'm sitting here today with regular TV on, guess it's All my Children, and I hear the following.....

"Your womb, Ryans Sperm, and My egg"! I dont watch this show, it just happened to be on, but really, is this something that needs to be on regular TV at 1:00 in the afternoon? Parents are all up in arms over Gay Days..."I dont want to have to explain this to my kids", but how many mom's are watching this show with their children in the same room? :confused3

Guess I'm getting old! :happytv:

I'd love to know where you got your shirt! I want one!!!
Go to www.cafepress.com and search the gay and lesbian categories. I had asked a lesbian friend what straight people could wear to show support, and she told me about the "Straight but not narrow" slogan. I typed it in at cafepress and came up with multiple versions.

I am getting one for hubby for next year that has the little "bathroom symbols" of a man and woman, two men, and two women that says "Gay marriage doesn't threat my marriage." I saw an anti-gay marriage tee, so he can off-balance it next year!

And I agree...GREAT shirts among the gay and lesbian crowd. Hubby was busting a gut reading them!

LOL We saw them as they were walking out of Peco's Bills!! That was a great shirt! :rotfl2:

Sounds like a whole bunch of nothing this year after all the prefaces people made about Gay Days..

We were going to try to pop in for the weekend but airfare was way too scary so we had to cancel. I am so glad that those of you who were able to attend enjoyed it, and that the ugliness was kept to a minimum!

I have many GLBT friends. DS11 has ridden in 3 or 4 Gay Pride parades with me and he always has a blast. Since I volunteer with different AIDS charities there is always room for us on one float or another. DH and I are proud to be raising him in an environment where our gay and lesbian friends are an integral part of our daily lives. We believe in equality, and we want DS to believe in it, too. We would have LOVED to have been a part of the Gay Day festivities, as well as Star Wars weekend and Flower & Garden Fest but it just didn't work out this time around. Maybe next year! We would love to meet all of you!:)

I was at MK on Friday and MGM on Saturday with my 2 daughters, my 5yr old grandson and 6mo old granddaughter and we had a great time. I did not see anything in the parks that I considered offensive and I have no qualms about going again next year at that time. I think you would have to really make an effort to find offensive behavior in the parks. I'm going to have fun, not search out PDAs of any orientation!

We had a great time at Gay Days this year. Schedule wise things didn't work out for me , you know trying to please some friends and all . I was only able to meet up with Longhairbear but that was a complete accident ( Happily, and was great to meet you ! )

Saturday night at OMP at MGM was great . I loved Kathy Griffin and Donna Summer . Fireworks just after midnight at MGM were to highlight Donna Summer's last dance ( song ) !!!!!

The only thing obscene was the LINES !!!!!!! I try not to wait in lines that are to long but with friends who only go once every ten years I had to wait and wait I did.

I spent a few hours Sunday afternoon / evening in the Rose and Crown drinking and having fun. I thought at one point things may be getting out of hand for a pub in Disney but when two of those hot bartenders came out from behind the bar to sit on guys laps to thank us for a good time ( big tips , lots of bell ringing that day ) I didn't give it another thought.

I know I'm OLD when it took me until this weekend to learn what " To the Left , to the left " means . ( a line from a Beyonce song , sorry I still listen to Pet Shop Boys and Duran Duran ! )

I do not have plans for next Gay Days , but I have such a great time I think I just have to find a way !!!!!!!

It was also nice to see more couples staying at my Home Resort of Boardwalk , I hope there are more GLBT people there for Gay Days ( every day ) every year !

I guess I went on and on here Sorry

Hey Boston! I was at R&C Sunday afternoon too (late). It was pretty boisterous, but still fun, although I did miss the barkeeps sitting on anyone lap! Good to know it all stayed ok. :thumbsup2

We were at the UK Pub all afternoon and had a great time. And the inapporpriate behavior we saw was from a straight couple. He was so drunk he could barely stand. She kept exposing her breasts. Finally Disney managers asked them to leave.

All in all, we had a great time and thought this year was the most "sane" we've seen. Just a lot of people out having a good time.

Randall, what you needed to do was take pictures (or video!) so that we can make an example of them on the internet. That more than anything might help curb their behavior.

LOLOL! Well, we must have all been there at the same time! LOL! Who knew!

We didn't really stay too long though. A Bass to go was purchased and I took a couple of photos (upon request) of a group of folks having a grand time.

We were off again walking the showcase.

I have video from that day!!! I saw her breasts too , I'll have to see if I caught them or not!!!

I think I was to busy getting the boys and not her breast!
