In your highly esteemed opinion, which...

Le Cellier is one TS credit and if you mean Tutto Italia, it's italian food.

Le Cellier was our best meal and only one TS credit! Very nice upscale feel yet still family friendly. They have these pretzel bread sticks that are yummy. Try the chess soup and if you are a scallop fan by all means order the scallops! Best ever! Chocolate mousse was cutely prepared and delicious. The Wave was awesome as well. Went for lunch and the service and food was outstanding. Our server was lovely and even brought our picky eater a special batch of French fries!

Add me to the list recommending Le Cellier and Le Chefs de France. And a big now way Jose to the Coral Reef (upscale on paper, but not in my actual experience...way too loud and bad service).

Hollywood Brown Derby at DHS may be an option. We haven't been in a few years, but I seemed to remember it being a bit on the swanky side.

I would suggest the following......
yachtsman steakhouse
Narcosses
Le Cellier
Chef Mickeys (the kids need some fun too)
Coral Reef

Enjoy! Let us know what you choose.

unless I'm mistaken, Yachtman's and Narcoossee's are both 2TS? I have already planned a CM for the kids, but we've done it before, so
i *may* cancel it. Nor sure yet. Coral Reef is out, but I guess my previous posts didn't clear that up. Thanks for the suggestions.

Essentially you are asking for luxurious, but you don't want to pay for it. Not trying to be harsh, but there it is. There's a reason the 2TS are 2TS.

Everyone is saying go for Le Cellier, so I'll give my opinion and say don't waste your time. I didn't find the food all that spectacular and while the decor is interesting, it doesn't scream luxurious to me. But everyone has their own opinion. I won't waste an ADR on Le Cellier again.

I guess you need to define what your grandmother thinks is luxurious. The cuisine? The restaurant decor? Both?

Maybe you are looking for a 1TS that isn't a buffet and is quieter?

Taking a stab in the dark with my list here:

~ Yacht Club Galley. I found their menu a bit limiting, but it was a nicely appointed restaurant
~ Boma - yes, it's a buffet, but the variety is fabulous and the decor is very unique.
~ The Wave - haven't tried it yet, but everything I've seen and read makes it sound on the upscale side
~ Grand Floridian Cafe - Interesting food items (I'm dying to try the Lobster Topped Hamburger) but with kids friendly items as well.
~ Liberty Tree Tavern for LUNCH. Might not be upscale in decor, but the menu is interesting
~ Crystal Palace - another buffet, but the dinner menu has some adult items and that restaurant is quite beautiful.
~ Marrakesh - Very Middle East inside. The menu may be a bit on the exotic side for the kids, but they have the standard kids menu.

Wow! :upsidedow Talk about "keeping it real", eh? I am not the type to try and get things for free. If I can come up with just under $5000 to pay for a week's stay at GF, I hopefully could eek out another $200 to spend at Narcoossee's! :rotfl: between fulltime work AND school,well............I have to cut where I can. You're right...I DONT want to come OOP for meals after I've paid for the DDP. :confused3 This trip is expensive enough. Please forgive my insolence asking the kind, generous folk of DIS to help me best try ot give all what they want!! :goodvibes

Thank you for these suggestions. I will have to ask DG, because I truly dont know what she considers upscale (other than paying ridiculous amounts of money). I know that she personally dislikes buffets, as she thinks only piggies like them (yes, I roll my eyes heavily at such sentiment, but you cant change the mind of a 72 year old:confused3 ), but she will go along a time or two to accomodate the kiddies.

I'm curious now about the lunch menu at LLT...let me go check that out! :cutie:
