Yes, he lied about an affair.

Actually, he lied under oath attempting to obstruct a plaintiff from seeking redress in the courts. Remember Paula Jones?

Aren't you the comedian?

You want me to rename my thread based on comments on the last few pages? NOT

Based on some of the comments posted on my thread, I replied - and even tried to be a little silly. If you don't like it, kindly move along. They are opinions, all relational to my opinion of Bush's response to the hurricane.

I have meaningful discourse when I feel the situation is worthy of it.

Have a lovely evening, Shrubby. :wave2:
I certainly did not suggest that you change the name of your thread. I simply was wondering how it was that you strayed so quickly off the topic you posted.
I also take the ' shrubby 'comment to imply that you would like me to move along but not so 'kindly'. Perhaps sometime in the future posters of your type
will learn to appreciate a polite opposing point of view.

You're right. I was wrong. Thanks!

Just curious, what could he do that would satisfy you? This isn't meant as an attack or anything, I just would like to know what specifically he could do that is not already being done that would satisfy you. Before he took responsibility, everyone was calling for him to take the blame which he did. But now, talk is cheap, every time he goes to NOLA its a photo op...what can he do right?

What could he do to satisfy me? Nothing......other than resign. The fact is, when coastal Mississippi was reduced to matchsticks and a 25 foot wall of water rearranged the landscape, Bush was enjoying a bit of birthday cake in Arizona. While levees broke in New Orleans and the city sitting was sitting in 30 feet of water, Bush was playing the guitar. Those are the defining moments of Bush, not "accepting responsibility" at a photo op with a foreign leader.

Fact is, he's taking responsibility for something that really is his responsibility. It's so damned rare, people are treating it as if it's a revelation. Tells you something. In the real world, people don't get kudos for doing what they should be doing all along.

Nice to see Bush finally woke up and realized his "responsiblilties", but pardon me if I remain skeptical. I could be wrong about this, but in another 2 weeks, we'll all be wondering just what "accepting responsibility" really means to Bush.

Typo. To paraphrase Churchill to Lady Astor, I can fix that deficiency with the edit function - your posts will still be nonsensical in the morning

Good answer.

Just the way I like it. A response that requires a little thinking with that unmistakable "shot" at the end.

Why not call this thread what it is instead of trying to defend it as simple 'responses' to others?

I'm sorry - I thought you were implying that I change the title. And I also meant to type Shrubber. So sorry. My fingers are tired this evening. I apologize if you were offended. :grouphug:

As for me straying from my topic - you were the one who was critical about me (and/or others) not calling our leader by the formal "President Bush" and indicated that I was disrespecting our history and didn't have pride in my country. :confused3 I don't think it's necessary to be so formal in this setting, and I was making light of the idea. :flower: I have serious pride in my country.

But "posters of my type" ?? That's kinda low. :sad1:
