In the planning stages, need some first hand info.

We are in the early thought/planning stages of a possible trip back to Disney Land in March of 07. Can anyone tell me from experience about the schedule for Fantasmic and the fireworks for the first few weeks in March? And how are the crowds?

While the crowds are usually low at that time, Fantasmic is supposed to be getting a refurb at some point, possibly after the first of the year (could also be in the fall). Normally, it would be shown on weekends only--Fri, Sat and Sun nights.

I'll have to keep an eye on that. Fantasmic in Disney Land is one of the big draws for us. We saw it the year it first premiered and returned last summer. Disney World has it as well, but it's a little different and I guess you never forget your first time. We may adjust our plans to stay over a weekend so we can catch it more than once.

If you want to see fireworks or F! you'll want to be sure to stay over a weekend. Hours during the week are typically shorter. I think the park closed around 8 or 9 during the week, on our March trip. I would expect a lot of things to be in refurb during that time this next year. They have waited on a few refurbs during the 50th. They can only let things go so long, so next years "off seasons" are going to have to cover it.

Yeah, from my knowledge Fantasmic will only be operating on the weekends. Also, depending on what week in March you go, it may be spring break for various colleges around the area. I know that my Spring Break this past year was mid march.
That would probably extend the hours, but you would have more crowds to deal with.
But I do think March is a good time to go, it can be really nice and peaceful depending on the week. Weather is mild too.
