Our first day in the park was on Thurs. 11/19. Crowds in DL were pretty low most of the day. I however was on a mission to FP!! So I was very diligent about getting FP's only to find that we really didn't need them. I have never been on a ride when it broke down or had a technical glitch and it happened to us on about 4 rides that day! Even got escorted out on Splash, got routed out behind the ride, saw a maintenance area and some CM's on break. Let's just say that there's not much Disney magic going on back there! :rotfl: Crowds got crazy around parade time and again at fireworks.

Oh I forgot to mention we had early entry but didn't actually get into the parks til 9:10 am. It took foreverrrrrrr to get into the parking garage. Only one attendant taking money working 2 lanes. So we were in the park from 9:10 am til fireworks at 8 pm. Left the park to get on the tram with 400,000 of my closest friends ;). We had to wait for at least 5 trams before we got on one. By the time we were home, it was about 9:30 pm.

Today, Friday, we went to DL. Crowds were a little heavier. We went over to DCA about 1:30-ish and spent the rest of the afternoon there. Crowds were pretty low there but got busier as the afternoon wore on.

Rental house.......ok, so our large group of 12 is staying in a rental house. I'll just say the house is sort of a let-down. We brought some air mattresses 'just in case' and thank God we did. Not enough beds for all of us and the mattresses that are here are crappy. Supposed to be plates and utensils for 16.....we only have 8 plates! Serving utensils are really cheap and flimsy. No corning ware or baking dishes.....owner of the house says they don't provide that. Ummm.....you advertise the kitchen as being a full working kitchen but you don't provide anything to use in the oven?!?! One of the bathrooms is teeny tiny with no counter space, so all of our bathroom stuff is in our bedroom which also has no surface space to put things. Closet doors are cheap and flimsy and have already been knocked off the track. Garbage disposal doesn't work. I could go on and on. But we're only sleeping here, eating and washing clothes. Just kind of a let down.

We will be at the parks for 2 more days. Spoke to a CM who is a family friend and he said that they are expecting heavy crowds this weekend.

More later!!!

I hope your stay improves a little. It sounds like a rough start. Are you having fun with your friends and family at least?

Hi, firefly! We're here now, too. Sorry about the letdown on the house--I know how that is. I rented a house once on the beach and it was such a dump that we just gave up our money on it and stayed in a motel.

But DL will be fun and I hope to see you/your parents on the tour tonight!

We are still having a good time despite the house. I just realized today that there are no cookie sheets here. I was going to bake some cookies real quick and couldn't find any!!! Not a necessity but you'd think a full kitchen might have a cookie sheet.

We are having fun in the parks though so that is good! Today (Sat) was ALOT more crowded than the previous 2 days. The lines were pretty long going into the parks at 9:15 am and the lines were long going to DCA and they didn't even open til 10 am! We got a FP for Indy and headed back to Haunted Mansion, Splash, Pirates, and the Canoes. All of them were walk ons. That side of the park was pretty low crowds but it def. got more busy. We headed out the park (and saw Mitchell from Modern Family) and went to DCA. It was kinda crowded but we managed to keep missing the lines. Must've been doing somethin' right!! :)

DizMe.......my parents LOVED the tour!! They came back and told me "We met some of your friends!" I had told my dad that they would run into some Dis-ers but hadn't told my mom. I think he forgot I had mentioned it so they were a little surprised that people knew them! :lmao:

That's just weird not to have cookie sheets, IMO!! We stayed in a house that had an oven but not a single thing that could cook in one :confused3.

We loved the tour too!! Had SO much fun and it was a blast to introduce myself to your parents, who initially looked a bit startled when I said, "I know you!" :rotfl:.
