In search of summer clothing

First I love to shop, and I have to say this is the most frustrated I have been. I have been looking for more summer/spring clothing all over the place for the last 3 weeks. We are leaving for Disney in a week and I have nothing to wear!! None of my clothes from last year fit (which is actually a good thing ) However, I am still in plus size clothing. All the stores have shorts, summer tops, and bathing suits out in every department but the plus size department. I am actually starting to feel discriminated. I would understand if there were no summer clothing out, but it is only the plus size departments that don't have it out. I even decided to check places like Fashion Bug-- the misses dept, maternity dept, and girls dept have summer clothes, Plus size--- nope!!! Even places like Lane Bryant nor Avenue have anything out. I can pick up capri's that's about the extent of it. I would of liked a swimsuit and shorts though!! Enough of my rant.

Sounds to me like you will need to buy lots of Disney clothes when you get there!

I had the EXACT same problem. I'm leaving for a cruise on Tuesday, and unfortunately, I needed clothes in a bigger size. There were NO stores in my area that had plus size summer clothes out yet. (Whereas all of the other sections did!)

I finally ended up biting the bullet and ordering from LL Bean. I ordered 2 different sizes because I didn't know which size I would need. I paid extra to have have them delivered in 2 days. I will say that I ended up loving the shorts I ordered. The fabric is very nice.

Try ordering online Romans.com and lanebryant.com are good sites I have ordered from lots of times and been pleased with the quality and fit of the clothes.

I know I saw swimsuits in my lastest Romans catalog.

Also try www.landsend.com in their overstocks dept.

They have some summery stuff there, and the prices are decent.

Well, I had the best intentions but got no where. Made a few local calls to find out which stores have some plus size summer clothing in. I kept being put "on hold" and finally realized nobody was going to help me. Thought if worse came to worse, you could pick up a few things when you arrived.

Like others above have said, ordering from Romans or Lane Bryant may be your best bet. Hope you're familiar with their sizing......I once had to send everything back and reorder in a smaller size. Once you know, it's no problem.

If you can contact a store in Hawaii that can ship the items to you at your destination, that might work. There is always summer clothes here in Hawaii.

I found plus size spring clothes in at Lane Bryant, TJMaxx, Marshalls, Ross, and many department stores. It's only been in the last 2-3 weeks, though. Have another look this week and maybe you'll find some!
