So, a year or two before the pandemic, Pooh's Corner candy counter changed their Tigger Tail recipe back to the original (marshmallows covered in caramel, then a hard orange shell and drizzled with chocolate to make the stripes). We really miss the Tigger Tails that these replaced...the ones with crystalized orange sugar instead of the hard shell. What really made them unique was the chocolate drizzle, so that you had the marshmallow, caramel and chocolate flavors along with a nice crunch from the sugar.

For years now we have been trying to find a good replacement. We don't care what they are called, or what color the sugar is, but want to find ones that have that chocolate drizzle. We have seen other marshmallow skewer treats that have crystalized sugar (I think one is the Cheshire Cat Tail), but they have a white chocolate drizzle or another color...but not chocolate.

If anyone has spotted a "Tail" option with the crunchy sugar and chocolate my family would be eternally grateful for the tip!!!

I read your title and thought you were talking about the Tiger Tails at Bengal Barbecue! I was shocked that was gone but then realized it was something completely different! The one at Bengal is kind of like grilled bread :D

I don't know about the orange sugar, but they usually have marshmallow stuff like that at Candy Palace on Main Street. I'm sure you've probably already checked there, though.

The current tigger tails are marshmallow dipped in caramel, then orange flavored candy coating, THEN rolled in crystallized sugar, and THEN drizzled with dark chocolate stripes. Is that what you want? Cause that's what they have. I don't recall them ever being rolled in JUST caramel and then sugar. That would not work, from a candy making perspective. The caramel would dissolve the sugar crystals. There was always a hard orange flavored shell after the caramel dip.

Yes!! That's it! The last time we were there (last summer) the Tigger Tails looked like this:

We were told that this was the "original" Tigger Tail and that they were going back to them for good. So happy to see that we can get our old favorites next month!!

The OP is wanting the sugar coated and the mobile order pic above shows those so I got worried.

We just got one a couple of days ago and it did not have the sugar crystals on the outside. The ones they have do not look like the picture on mobile order. It’s just smooth orange coating and chocolate.

When we ordered it the lady specifically asked us if it was ok that it was orange flavored. And the orange flavor was much stronger than when it was the version with the sugar crystals on the outside. Unfortunately we liked that older version better so won’t be ordering one again.

So funny because I prefer the version with the orange chocolate. But I think the dark chocolate drizzle is too strong. I wish they would use milk chocolate.

Thanks for the report...I was afraid of this, but expected it to be the case as this is what the CM's had said would be the Tigger Tail going forward. Our family really does not care for the hard, orange coating. Hopefully we can find a marshmallow skewer with sugar crystals and eat it with pieces of a chocolate bar for the same effect. We have made our own at home that are great, but it's just not the same as having a treat at Disneyland!
