In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

Kat, our new beer is based on the retired Pete's Summer Ale. It's sooo yummy. You'd love it!

I'll tell Em you say hi. When she stops sounding like a sick ghost.

Mmm, I probably would. These folks had 4 home brews on tap. Craziness!!

Poor baby. Kiss her for me.

Happy Sunday!

The weather. OMG it's PERFECT :woohoo: Sunny, breezy, warm (but not hot), no humidity. Oh how we've earned this weekend after all that hideous rain!

Party yesterday was great. Stephen's whole family was here - food, games, swimming, more food, camp fire, fireworks...awesome.

and in the middle of everything this random family drives in - 2 cars. I'm thinkin' they clearly are lost and looking for somebody's party. All of a sudden SIL jumps up and says "HEY! It's my Brazilian Guy!" :rotfl2: sounded so FUNNY!. (turns out he's a GUY from BRAZIL :rotfl2: Totally cracked me up.). Anyway - he showed up at my house with, gosh, had to be a dozen people- refugees from Burma. They wanted a goat. And chickens.

So here we are, in the middle of this whole huge family picnic selling a goat. And chickens. Oy. We are so redneck sometimes :lmao:

Today - we take Becca to 4H camp for a week. And shocker of all shockers, I absolutely can NOT find the stinkin' paperwork. :headache: I have the important one - the Dr's form - but other than that I have no idea where the he!! that stuff went. I just saw it recently too. But must have put it in one of those dreaded "safe places" before the graduation party or something and now I can't find it.:sad2:

Liz- I hope Emily is feeling better today!

Paula - are you having this same fabulous weather as we are? Getting ready for your race?

Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

Oh - and I heard on the news this morning that there was a monorail accident at WDW last night - a driver died in the crash. :sad1: Haven't gone to look it up yet....

:woohoo: Ok. You can all stop looking now. I found the paperwork!

In my car. Right were I left it when I took Becca to the Dr. for her appt! duh.

The fireworks last night were set to music, and it was awful music. No Stars and Stripes Forever, no America the Beautiful. Lee Greenwood, and NOTHING else Americana. Not even Born in the USA! Jason Mraz, U2, Bruce but "Jersey Girl". Lots of stuff that is fine, but not for our country's birthday!

Were your fireworks to music? Watching the History channel, docu on the Presidents!

No the fireworks weren't "set" to music. The local radio just had a very americana soundtrack. All the stuff you didn't get, we totally did. Born In the USA, all the right ones.

Happy Sunday!

Where to start commenting. Yay for great weather. Yay for party. Yay for making money at the party - yeah, total redneck. Yay for finding your paperwork, A.D.D.

It sounds like everyone had a good 4th!!

Liz--I hope Em is feeling better.

Kat--That party sounded awesome!

We saw some great fireworks last night. The were launched over a harbor. Way better than the ones friday night. The music was all movie music. ET, babck to the future, and Pirates of the Caribbean. We also saw some manatees hanging out!

And I must share what I got at the mall yesterday. I got to go by myself (which was awesome), since DH was sick and wanted to nap, so I went when Delena and DH were napping.

The Gap was having a great sale. Buy 4 things on clearance, and get 30% off your total. I got Little D 3 outfits there for 43 dollars! Of course she didn't really NEED clothes, but some of her birthday money was burning a whole in my pocket.

And the disney store. 2 Beach Towels, a bathing suit, 3 pairs of flip flops, Beach Cover up, 3 pairs of pajamas, and a couple other random things for 50 dollars! most of this is shopping for my nieces and nephews in vermont. No disney store close by up there anymore.

Probably some pool time today. Not much else.

Coming up for air from Wimbledon. Oh how I love thee all week. :lovestruc

I used to live on the tennis courts. I don't know what happened. :sad2: Used to be home for me. Hours and hours.

Lovely to hear about your weekends.

Hope Emily is feeling better Liz.

I need to get outside and run. It's 78 degrees on the 5th of July! We went to church and met a college friend of Sue's for brunch. She and her GF are visiting KC this week.

I am astonished by how much laundry two women can generate in one week. Just sayin'

So sad about the monorail death. I think the driver killed was on the CP. Latest is that he was killed when another train was cleared to back up into the station. Tragic.

Hope everyone eases into the new workweek.

Ronda

I had been doing relatively well on my renewed diet planning. That is until my uncle brought homemade ice cream to me today. Vanilla base with all kinds of fruit. Yummers!

EE--That sounds so good!!

I backcalculated 20 weeks from the date of the mickey marathon last night. If I did it right, 20 weeks out is around AUGUST 28th!!! :scared1::scared1: My longest run would be done before christmas though.

OMG! It was devine and so worth the calories. My uncle is a fabulous cook & booze maker. He even took over the Thanksgiving duties when my aunt hurt her wrist.

Congrats on reaching 1K posts!!!!

Good Monday morning! It's another beautiful day in CT! :thumbsup2

Lyz - A.D.D. totally. Fireworks just aren't the same without that good ol' Americana music. Glad they did it *right*!

Amy - holy cow! Shopping score! and you got to go alone. Very nice. (although sorry that hubby wasn't feeling well. Hope he's on the mend!)

Liz - speaking of "on the mend" - how's Emily? going to be ok for that fabulous camp today?

LisaV- Wimbledon. We never watch/follow tennis. But Becca did watch the women's match on Saturday - rooted for Serena. When is your official "move in" date?

Ronda - :wave2: good luck with that laundry!

Amiee - homemade ice cream? YUM. Your uncle can visit me any time ;)

Erika - FINALLY. Some nice weather in Maine too! :goodvibes Hope it sticks around for a while

Kelly - how are things across the pond? stayin' safe?

Paula, Kat - hope you had great weekends as well! And Paula! The countdown has begun. Praying for good weather for Saturday!

Steph, LisaPR - come visit us sometime, ok?

Dawn - on vaca still?

no big plans for me today. Bike ride this morning. Have to hit the grocery store later, so I'll probably make Nate drive. :scared: Student driver :scared1:

Morning! Basically haven't read for the past 2 days, so I will try to get caught up. Yes, we had a gorgeous day yesterday and today should be similar. My niece, Jessica, just arrived (remember her from last summer), so I am playing tour guide for the next few days.

Nancy--I know! That video was clearly taken just moments after the crash! What I find stunning is that it was DVC who e-mailed me the link to the video!

Just back from my ride. It was an awesome one! I feel like I've got a brand-new attitude. It's gonna be a good day :goodvibes

Have fun with your niece Erika!

Hi everyone….

What a weekend. I am exhausted from doing way too much and eating more than I should have yesterday. I’ll post a full report, but I have read and I think I am caught up on what everyone has been up to:

LisaPR – I am sorry to hear that the new job isn’t all you hoped it would be. Hopefully, it is a case of just getting through the ‘did I do the right thing’ funk and the job will improve soon.

Ronda – It always amazes me how much laundry that I alone can generate in a week. If someone had told me that simply by working out five days a week I would have doubled the amount of laundry to be done I would have dumped the gym and ran for the Ben and Jerry’s… Glad to hear that you and Sue’s life appears to be getting back to normal.

LisaV – I missed Wimbledon entirely this year. I have been watching it since high school. So bummed as I really wanted to watch the men’s finals this year. Sigh…. Oh – Jesse is uber excited about the Laker’s recent acquisition. Don’t ask me who since I have no clue about these things. All I know is that when he starts talking basketball I immediately think where is Lisa when I need her wealth of NBA knowledge… lol

Erika – have you figured out what the yellow ball in the sun is yet? We were introduced to it over the weekend as well. It is called the sun and generally makes people happy! Hope you and the family had a great weekend (despite the aborted pool club visit).

Liz – How is Em feeling this morning? Hopefully better… I totally agree with you on the patriotic song thing. It is not the Fourth of July until I hear Stars and Stripes Forever by the master – John Philip Sousa. Word!

Lyz – Madi is too cute. She can sing that song whenever she wants… Oh and go with Liz’s advice on the Bermuda shorts. They are very forgiving. I think I look better in those than I do in capris at this point (really does anyone over a size 2 and shorter than 5’10” actually look good in capris?)

Kat – You managed to survive the weekend party of unlimited homemade beer… very impressive.

Nancy – yeah on finding the paperwork. I had to laugh at the safe place comment as that is code for mom lost something in our family. She once put the silver flatware in a safe place and we couldn’t find it for five years!!! Now my sister or I must know where the safe place is at all times. Race day is about five days away now. Must get my last ride in tonight and it is threatening to rain! I really was hoping to test out the camelpak tonight, but we’ll see. Anyone know a good anti rain dance?

Amy – kudos on the race, but sending you hugs on the IT band issue. Here’s hoping it is not too serious. After all, you have another race coming up. 200 days until the Mickey? YIKES – that means the ½ is not that far away at all… it is about 35 weeks away (and yes I checked thanks to my handy dandy lead time calculator thingy that one of the elevator suppliers gave me).

Amiee – How is the new job going? Loved the new purses… I think the best way to shop for those is to go with nothing in particular in mind like you did. Oh and when does your uncle come to cook for me? The homemade ice cream sounds yummy…

Kelly – Def Leppard totally rocked that concert. They did sing Two Steps Behind and Love Bites (Lyz – this is your cue to start squeeing…). It was a great show. I’ll be writing more about it soon – promise…

OK - need to get some work done. I promise I'll post a full report on the concert, the air show and the picnic at camp (including the consumption of way too much food... :confused3) a little later.

Have a good one...
