In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

Glad it is all settled, Nancy. What a load off!

Lyz--it took till just now, but I completed my end of the deal. Phew.

Hi everyone...

What a day... all of this presentation prep work is killing me. Thankfully, the presentation is tomorrow so things should calm down after that...

Made it to Jenny Crai and lost 2.6 pounds. I was stunned. I was doing a little theraputic eating last night and combined with being out of town all weekend, I was positive that there would be a token loss at best or a gain. Thank you weight loss gods....:worship::worship::worship: I really don't think I could have handled a gain right now.

Had a great workout with Jesse. We really worked my hamstrings and shoulders today so it will be interesting if I can walk in girlie shoes with high heels tomorrow let alone lift my arms past my stomach... Hopefully, I won't be too much of a sight at the presentation...

OK - off to press my suit and get my notes together... Then I am crashing on the couch with the dog. I am dog sitting for my parents' dog and he likes to sit on my lap.... He is all of 50 pounds so he is not exactly a lap dog, but don't tell him that....:rotfl:

Nancy - glad the health paperwork got settled quickly. I was about to lend you my angry eyes...

Kelly - sending you hugs... what an experience your mom had growing up...

Lyz - so proud of your walk... that is awesome.

Erika - really proud of you for your run to match Lyz... you are awesome. Oh and I told Jesse about my thoughts on doing a mini triathalon and needless to say he is about as happy as you are.... All I can say is - are you two working together????

Catch you all on the flip side...

Paula!!!!! Whooo hoooo!!!!!

Why yes I did. ;) My nerves are frazzled.

But - here's my update (and if you don't feel like reading, suffice it to say the Dr's office redeemed themselves)

I took the paperwork to the Dr's office (25 minutes away). Went in, all organized, envelope clearly marked, etc, etc. Saw Ms Crabby-Pants-phone-answerer and, well, turned to a different receptionist and very politely explained my plight.

Asked if I could possibly have the paperwork by noon next Tues (6/30 - still time to Fed Ex) and in the mean time, if they could get me a copy of the TB test...fax it to me when the have a moment? Just in case paperwork is NOT ready I can send what I have.

Nice Receptionist tells me to have a seat, the nurse will look it up. Less than 5 minutes later - nurse calls me up. Hands me COMPLETED PAPERWORK. :worship: I wanted to kiss her

Honestly -whole trip was less than an hour. I'm a much happier camper now than I was before.

But I could still use some tequila...

Nancy! What drama. And what a nasty receptionist. Thank heavens for the other one. Whew.

Glad it is all settled, Nancy. What a load off!

Lyz--it took till just now, but I completed my end of the deal. Phew.

Oh the pressure, hehe.

OMG, you have no idea! I made myself go for an entire hour since that is what you did, too! :lmao:

Hey everybody! Remember me, lol!

It is so hot and sticky at the world of the Mouse. I can't get enough water and it's not really quinching my thrist at this point. I'm making us drink 1 propel for every 3 bottles we drink. I so love the individual packets to add to water. The heat index has been in the 105-110 range.

On a happy note, it has been wonderful. I do wish I was on property, but it just didn't pan out. There is always next time right??

I can't tonight, but I am going to try to go back to each day I missed to catch up. Gotta know what is going on with everybody.

It's very late and I am oh so tired. Later!

Good morning!

So it's Fathers Day here. Does anyone else feel like we could get rid of Fathers Day and Mothers Day? Seriously, who needs a tie? Can't we just be mindful and celebrate the people in our life daily, or when the mood strikes us, instead of this mass produced holiday?

I'm not anti holiday. I'd like to hang onto the ones from my faith and Thanksgiving. But really, lose Mother Day and Fathers Day. All we do is ***** about the anyway. There's got to be a better way to celebrate parenting. Have one day, Parenting Day. Give us all off, encourage community service, feature stories of parents who raise kids in difficult circumstances, etc etc

Thoughts?

I agree with you 100%.

**Yeah, all those college kids from the UK are out cold right now, so I have an awesome connection :woohoo:**

Good Morning Everyone!

Its so warm here today, but its so muggy! I think we are due another Thunder storm to clear the air!

So far so good on food and water today. So far:

Almost 1 litre of water drank.
WW toast and low fat spread for breakfast.
An apple for a snack.
Roasted Vegetable Couscous and Salt and Vinegar Crunchy Sticks for Lunch.

Have a great day everyone :)

Did anyone else notice we are on page 100???

Made it to Jenny Crai and lost 2.6 pounds.

:cool1: Awesome Paula! Don't know what you did, but something's working there!

Oh the pressure, hehe.

ugh. That's too freakin' hot. We've been hanging in the cold, damp, rainy 60's here. :sad2:

Graduation is fast approaching - stress level is thru the roof!! Just trying to keep it all together here for few more days.:upsidedow

Good morning. Another gross 60-degree day here in the northeast. But the rain is not currently falling, so that is a good thing. The kids are going to their tennis lesson, as long as the rain continue not to fall. Another good thing.

Core. I need to get back to doing it 5 of 7 days. Paula and Nancy, I am naming the two of you to the Accountabiliy Police Force. Seriously, hound me each day until I have posted that my core is done.

TOM is in town with a vengeance. And the IUD pamphlet that I got from my OB/GYN last month is sitting here on my desk mocking me.

:thumbsup2 I can definitely do that!

I'm a total and complete wreck. I was at the gym when Dixie Chicks "Wide Open Spaces" came on my mp3. OMG I was choking back tears. Had to quick change songs before I totally lost it right then and there...oy. Survival mode needs to kick in....

YES! "Hallmark Holidays". That's what we call them. Invented by sales and marketing people to guilt us into feeling obligated to buy cards and crap that we don't need. The gestures then often become meaningless and insincere.

Simple things. Time. Dinner. A random flower that you found that reminded you of someone. Those are the things that I think are important. Those things show that someone is thinking of you because they want to. Not because some ad agency told them that they were supposed to.

Thanks for getting it, Nancy.

I couldn't agree more.

And Nancy, yup, "Hallmark Holidays". We don't celebrate them around here. My parents asked nicely for us not to really recognize anything like that, when we were kids, and it has stuck. This household also doesn't exchange gifts for anything, and doesn't celebrate anything like Valentine's Day. Birthdays and anniversaries are a nice dinner or a trip.

The exception is for the in-laws, as they don't subscribe...

I think we should just be mindful and celebrate the loved ones in our lives. However, the advertising industry is unlikely to get behind that one!!

More and more, I am loving how you do things with regards to holidays and the commercialization.

Hi gang..

Back from Binghamton. I was voted in as board chair and now the responsibility of the whole thing is starting to sink in. It'll pass, but am a little panic stricken at the moment. Did ok food wise. I am down a bike ride for the week so I need to fit that in this week.

Wow, that's awesome, Paula! Congratulations!!! And OMG, way to go on the weight loss!

YES, YES, YES!!
I totally agree with you. My Mum had lost BOTH of her parents by the age of 16 :sad1: so Mothers Day and Fathers Day are particularly hard for her. In the morning she goes to the Cemetary with flowers, and then comes home and stays there. Understandably, she doesn't want to go out and 'celebrate'.

A 'Parenting' Day would be so much better.

Well, its 9.41am and I'm going well with my water, half a litre drank so far!

And, its that time again...Blood Donors! I can't go to one of the daytime sessions because I'm working, so im going straight from work to donate. You know what that means - biscuits and cups of tea! :lmao:

Have a great day everyone :upsidedow

Aww for your mom. Oh, I so feel for her. That's really rough. And I'm glad you get my point. :goodvibes

Good job on the water!!!

And GOLD STAR for donating blood!!!! I'm so proud of you! You are saving lives!!!!

Hallmark Holidays - eh I don't have the energy to get fired up about it. It just is. I'm more disgusted that Jon & Kate have screwed up their lives and are advertising a "big announcement" for Monday night and that would be that they are divorcing. OMG! They have totally lost sight of reality. WHO markets the divorce announcement. Even real celebrities quietly have a publisist release it.

Me, too. I am so, so sad for them.

Nancy - I looked up those lyric. Made me cry, too!

Paula--WTG on the loss! Awesome!

Erika--Glad to hear Boston was fun. Have you started to think at all yet about your Goofy Training?

Nancy--OMG, I love that song...

EE-glad to hear you are not melting down here. Even for FL, this is unseasonably hot for june. And not much rain, at least not on the west coast.

I am just super busy this week. SIL and her girls are flying down on Thursday for a week with us. Delena's party is on Saturday. And I am trying to finalize plans for a Vermont trip.

What I have been struggling with the past 2 weeks is settling back into a regular workout schedule. I have been getting them in, but it is so random. I found it easier to get on a regular schedule when I was working. I did do alot of core the last couple weeks, and that felt great. I swear I have noticed a difference in my clothes already.

And I am racing again next weekend. July 3rd, night race out on the causeway!!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

HEY
remember me .. I am still alive ... I have been pulling in the hours at work. We had one girl let go and another out with health issues and another with mental health issues. So I am picking up the slack. I am working 9 to 10 days straight then have a day off and then again straight through then have two days off. I actually slept all day Sunday and monday with a few breaks for eating and swimming in the pool with the family on sunday.

I hope everyone is doing ok.
Paula I see that you had another loss!:worship::worship: AWESOME! I need to get back to loosing not just maintaining.

Tomorrow is that last day of school for the kids! I will be glad to have them home! Zac will be trying the insulin pump this summer to see how it goes!
Sam is having a great time with her friends I had to kick them out of the pool at midnight last night. Then they were makin smores at 1 am in the microwave!
Ty had kindergarten graduation yesterday.

EE hope that you are having FUN!
Lyz, & Amy ~ pool is looking great you should come swimming!
:wave2::wave:To everyone else!

Sam is having a great time with her friends I had to kick them out of the pool at midnight last night.

:yay: Hi Steph!!! I've missed you!

It has been far too cold here to even think about going in the pool! With day-time high's in the 60*s there has been no chance of the water warming...and no, our pool is not heated ;)

Nancy, sorry things are hard right now.

EE, holy hot. D and I made a pact a long while back that June-Aug at WDW is something that we avoid at all costs. It's hot enough here, no need to ratchet it up a few degrees.

Lyz and E, cracking me up with the competition!!

Paula, WTG on the loss!!! You are SO kicking butt.

It remains in the 90s here, mid to upper 60s at night. That is pretty much where we will be until mid-Sept, most likely. Man, I wish I had a pool.

The next few weeks are likely to be pretty busy... tournament in Charlotte this weekend, then maybe to Pittsburgh for the 4th, and then his parents are coming to visit on the 11th. Wish I could call it fun stuff, but there is likely as much obligation/work as there is fun involved.

(then again, fun to me = pool/beach + drinks + relaxation)

We are heading out of town again (shocking, I know...) and leave on Thursday, getting back on Sunday. So I am running around cleaning after the last trip and packing for the next one. Thursday we will just be up at camp. Then we will be camping Friday - Sunday. The rain needs to stop.

HI STEPH!

Hi Amiee & Steph!!!

WORD!!!

Oh I am so hot. I want a pool so bad. So bad. So bad. Poor Maddi, I dropped Molli off at the city pool with friends today, but Mad can't go, cause I'm too vain. So we took a hot walk instead.
