Trip Report – 2
Surprisingly, the girls woke up early. So we were out the door by 8:30. Saw Art, snapped a pic of him and Kel, then headed to the bus.
We had major Bus Karma and the MK bus was waiting for us. Perfect.
Got to the MK just 2 minutes before the Rope Drop Show. OMG, love being at the MK for rope drop. During the show, Cammie turned to me and said, “Look, Mom, I have goose bumps!” I got teary!
We went straight back to Fantasyland. As we were walking past the Castle, the Wicked Step-Mother and Step-sisters were right there. These are *new* characters for us, so we were psyched. Walked right up and were first to get pics with them. It was hilarious. I was totally trash-talking with the Step-mother…arguing back and forth about whose daughters were prettier. Hi lar ious.
I can’t believe everything we did today. We walked on to EVERYTHING. Absolutely everything. Here is the run-down. In Fantasyland, we got to do Pooh, Peter Pan’s Flight, Tea Cups, the Carousel, and Snow White (Small World is down for refurb).
Once done here, we went right to Toon Town for rope drop there (9:45). I asked the girls what they wanted to do—Goofy’s Barnstormer or get in line for pictures with Tink and the other fairies (this would also be new). They opted for Barnstormer—go figure. We got to Barnstormer and opened the ride. First ones on of the day. Rode it 3 times in a row.
Off to Frontierland and Big Thunder Mountain. Saw Goofy and Donald dressed up in their Fronteirland garb. Got some pics and continued to BTMRR. WALK-ON. So we did. Twice! Then right next door to Splash. Got soaked, which was great since it was H.O.T. for us Northerners.
Quick trip up to Haunted Mansion. Walked on. Fun. Loved our Ghost rider! Then over to Adventureland and hit Pirates. Also a walk-on. You may notice that I haven’t mentioned a FastPass yet. Didn’t need them. Incredible!
Ok, by this time, it was 11:30. Yes! We did all of that in 2.5 hours! It was awesome! But we were hot and hungry and we had ADRs at the Plaza. Checked in and were seated within 3 minutes. We have never eaten there before (sit down) and it was just what we needed. Sandwiches and fries and ice cream. If you ever want to do a sit down restaurant in MK and don’t want to spend a lot, this is a great option. It is also very NON-chaotic. Which is worth its weight in gold when you just need to eat, cool down, and re-energize.
After lunch, we were perfectly placed to hit Tomorrowland (because I am made of Awesome when it comes to planning Disney trips). HA! So we did Buzz (twice, natch) and then the Laugh Floor. (Space is also down for refurb.)
Then we just had a couple of things more we wanted to do. Back to Fantasyland for Philharmagic. And since the day was perfect so far, this was too. As soon as we got there, they were starting. Walked right in, right into the theater. Zero wait.
Our last stop of the day was the Jungle Cruise. Just cause. Girls get a kick out of it, so it seemed like a nice way to end our day.
At this point, it was 1:45 and smokin’ hot. Since we had done SO SO SO much, we decided it was Pool Time. Yes, we did all of that before 2pm.
Once again, we had major Bus Karma. As soon as we got to the BC bus area, the bus pulled up. No lie.
Pool was awesome. We got there just as they were starting the Pool Party. So the girls participated in the Hoola-Hoop competition and the new Miley Cyrus hoe-down dance thing. Cammie won the hoe-down and got a cute prize. We hung at the pool for maybe 2-3 hours. I was in a lot and then decided it was time for a cocktail and a book. Snagged the perfect chaise, right in front of the area where the girls wanted to be, so all was good.
Back to the room for dinner tonight. And this is why I love DVC. Sometimes you just want quiet and relaxed. So I popped a Freschetta in the oven and the girls just crashed in front of the tv for some down time.
Perfect, perfect, perfect day. The only snarky thing all day was on the Pooh ride. The woman in the row in front of us in our Honey Pot turned around half way through the ride and said, “Quiet down! I can’t hear!” She was about 50-55 (?) and alone and mean and cranky. Kelly LIVES for Pooh and was super excited and pointing everything out and talking about it. But sheesh lady, it is the POOH RIDE.
Jeff just called and they are on the ground and we are waiting for them now.
I will update with pics later.
