In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

Hey Lisa and welcome here! I see you on the DVC Boards, so I feel like I "know" you from there! :goodvibes

This is a great bunch, so I am thrilled to have you join us! Good for you for tackling this right at the beginning (when you just start to feel the weight creeping back up) as opposed to having gained it all back and then some! How many posts of those have you read here on these boards? So good job taking control now!

Like you, I basically focus on exercise (and tons of it) and then just watch what I eat and make good choices. No specific food plan or anything.

Hi everyone else! I had a good run this morning and am feeling a bit better now. It is a gorgeous day and I am heading to the pool for one of the last few days. :(

Thanks 3DisneyKids - Erika! DVC. Actually, I contacted you when you were looking and I was selling a contract. I sold one to afford my beloved BW. Even lost points to break even $$$$. That's how much I wanted BW. And then, of course;) , didn't even use my home advantage there for the first two years :rotfl: :lmao:

Thanks for the push. I say it's only a little. But it's funny what tricks one brain can produce without the numbers to back it up. My guess would be five to eight. Regardless, I am proud have said to myself "do something, find someone, jump on with some successful group running - ummm - NOW!?!??!"

You know. I've done it the right way in that I've lost probably 60 plus over a long long period of time. With small changes. I say probably because I wasn't a scale girl before BL. However, I'm starting to feel like a little faster progress would be nice. It's been about seven years!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm feeling like now is the time to be a tad more focused. And get where I want to be.

And I'm torn because the scale time, BL, was the fastest push. Yet I hated it mentally. So who knows. But thanks for the support. You all have been so successful.

Welcome Lisa!!!

I am Kathryn, 32, married, 3 mos and 7 year old "kids" (that meow). I live in NC and work as a computer programmer, currently for a bank, and starting a new job with a hospital inventory software company on Sept 8th. I will be in WDW from Aug 30 - Sept 7th, for my week off. :)

We are also DVC owners, BWV. So is Erika (3DisneyKids).

I like your philosophy. I had lost almost 60 lbs and was about 10 lbs from goal before I slipped clear off the wagon a month or so ago, during my job search efforts, and once I get back from WDW I think I will be about 20-25 from goal. I also need to find something that I can live with.

I also know exactly what you mean about feeling overloaded with food. Like, for example, RIGHT NOW!!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome Kathryn. (I'm 41 - forgot to add that and love the forties so far so that's a good thing).

And congratulations on all your success. Aaaah BWV, a girl after my own heart. I waited ten years to get the money together and used to sit on the BW porch and dream and dream and dream. And voila in 2005. I feel so flippin' fortunate. Times are tight right now, my job is all over the place - long story, but DVC is a bright light. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep it. It's been so lovely - especially to share it.

Have fun on your trip. Nice.

Lisa - Welcome....I am so glad you found us...have you been lurking long...if so than you know we are a place for friendship and flexibility in our discussions....I also hope you can laugh with us at ourselves...

I need AIM....;)

A quick "hello" from me right now....I should be back later...

Welcome, Lisa. Nice to have you here! I too am all about realistic "food & exercise plans". Definitely has to be a long-term thing that I can live with, or I just crash and burn! :rolleyes1

Steph- the ricotta is SO easy! It's just goat milk, vinegar, butter & baking soda....simple! Then into stuffed shells, lasagna, etc. :woohoo:

'K. Tonight I'm working on the labels for my soap....yup. Goat's milk soap...not quite as easy (or tasty! ) as the cheese - but oh so wonderful for your skin!!

Hey all! Feeling much better right now. Had a good work-out today, relaxed at the pool some, avoided Karen for the most part (other than to call her and give her the number of a therapist! Yes, really, I did this and she was glad for it).

This evening I went to parent orientation for both of the girls' classes. I hit Riley's tomorrow. It is going to be a great year. Love both of these teachers and there are great kids in the class. Looks like I am going to be Room Mom in at least 2 of the classes, if not all three. :scared1: Ok, so it sounds like a huge commitment, but the reality is that I would rather be in charge than to be delegated something like manning the stupid bake sale table or some such thing. (Steph isn't the only one with control issues! :rotfl: )

J is in good spirits...which is great. But it always leaves me wondering when he makes comments like he did the other day. Was he just hot under the collar a bit or did he really mean it? The man is a tough read. Always has been.

You are leaving again?!?!?! Who has custody of your dog on the weekends?

OMG, I know! I am SO done. I would love to bag this week-end trip and just stay home....beautiful weather or not. We bring the dog with us. She is tiny and super easy. We will leave her when we head down to FL next month which will be a first. Not sure where she will stay just yet...kennel, sitter, or my parents.

Sorry you are in a funk. You have like 2 tons on your plate right now. A funk would happen to anyone. School prep for kids. School prep for you. Vacation planning. Traveling. And one very needy friend in crisis. Yes, you have funk written all over. (But I can't smell it, yet.) Check in when you can.

If I can just get through the next full week, I think I will be fine. It is going to be a tough 7 days but truly...by next week Weds. I am hoping that it will be somewhat smoother sailing. This doesn't mean that all worries automatically go away, but it should mean that I have more time to manage my life and get a bit more organized.

Fay is visiting me too.

We are having outrageously beautiful weather.

KAT--OMG! Your LAST day! WOO HOO! So happy for you!

Welcome Lisa :dance3:

So September 1 i'm starting over. Tracking my calories - writing down my food - bringing my 2 liters of H2O to my desk, somethings got to give.

I've been slacking so much since the wedding with all the crap that's been going on. No more.

Bruce is going to join me, so hopefully that helps. And i need to drag my sorry butt to the computer and post more!! You guys help keep me accountable!

Hope everyone is having a good night!

Thank Heavans!

No kidding.

:teacher: shouldn't you be able to read him?

E - Bless you lady, i don't know how you do it. She needs help, soon. This can't be your responsibility any longer

Kat - are you SO so SO excited? You're almost done!!!!

Paula - I hate when ppl make comments and leave you hanging to ponder. Nothing they are thinking can be as obnoxious as what i'm assuming they mean in my head..... :confused3

And did i hear goat cheese ricotta? For some reason i have an irrational fear of any cheese not derived from cow milk. It's completely ridiculous, i'm aware, however i spook easily......

I am just hoping that Gustav doesn't ruin our WDW week next week...

Ya guys better laugh....

Kat - since you wrote this...I was trying to figure out what Gustav was code for...(someone else mentioned they were getting Tom to visit next week) ...and I figured that it was a new Southern term for TOM...:lmao:

Then heading home...caught the news...

And guess what..Gustav is a hurricane...who knew???

Bet TOM was happy he was not getting outdated by a new fangled Gustav....

What Exactly would Gustav stand for?:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Ok, I am glad school is back in session. BUT...and it's a big one, I HATE HOMEWORK. Like, right now, who the freak cares about world history. I'm tired, have a headache and totally not interested in checking if the worksheet has been correctly completed. Pharoh *(^&*%^&%&^/!!!!!!

I got a mouse, that I named Sugar. So I have an elephant named Lola and a mouse named Sugar, living together in cyberspace. 3 gems to go.

Kelly named her mouse Squeakers. Riley has the elephant...Jumbo. And it is the Earth Emerald that we are missing.

DAWN---Gustav! :lmao: That is going right up there with Lyz's definition of DMV! :lmao:

Hi All....

It has been a crazy day.... Work was a whirlwind of meetings and topics from left field that had to be dealt with.... I had dinner with a friend tonight and got a chance to get some things off my chest and I feel better about the direction I am heading in. Time for me to be a little selfish and do things for me first and everyone else second. Strange huh...

Anyways, Dawn - I am still chuckling at the Gustav comment.... too funny...

E - hang in there... the weekend tripsare almost at an end...

Lisa - welcome to this crazy bunch... jump right in... we don't bite...

Kat - whoo freaking hoo!!!! do the last day happy dance....

I am off to get my walking tape in before heading to bed. I am only doing two or three miles tonight. My knee is bothering me a bit from the golfing I did this past weekend, so I don't want to push it too hard.

Have a great night everyone and I'll check in after my workout....

Paula

Well I really lurked like an insane woman in the very beginning. :scared1: Wanting to join you all but not knowing what to do about BL. And then when I realized I need some kind of support I thought hmmm what about that great thread. But it's obvious how close you all are. So I hesitated for a bit.

Welcome, Lisa. Nice to have you here!
!

Welcome Lisa :dance3:

!

Thanks to you both! Yeah, is all I can say.

I KNOW, right??? Just goes to figure, I marry the one person I CAN'T read. :lmao:

:lmao: Well, that's a whole lot better than boring.....:rotfl: ....for sure.

Thank God I learned to multi quote this year!!!!! :dance3:

I tried for a while to come up with a GUSTAV abbreviation, and well, I failed.

E, so glad you told Karen to find someone pro to talk to. And, well, I can't read ANYONE let alone men.

I am happy that I only have 2 days (maybe 1, my boss might let me not come in on Friday if everything is tied off on tomorrow), but some part of me is also sad that it didn't work out there. There are definitely some people I will miss.
