In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

I just paid $3.68 this morning. A record here. :sad2:

It is $4.00 a gal here in town. I drive to Vt which is 12 miles away and pay about .30 less, plus they have gas wars and depends on the day but you can usually get .05 off every day depending on what gas station is having it.

Well, if life isn't complicated enough I am off to the Dr. with my youngest allergies are just killing him. Just gave him a nebulizer treatment and he is still wheezing.:confused3 . I know he is sick because he is a child that gets up with the sun and I had to wake him up at 9:30, I was lonely!

Then school nurse just called my middle child is a type 1 diabetic and his blood sugar is 364.:scared1: I think it is going to be one of those days! Good thing I called in!
NOTHING SEEMS TO BE GOING RIGHT TODAY!

Let me say first of all, sorry about not posting, my life's been busy & heckic with some headaches. I know I should just post everyday because you guys are are wonderful listeners and give great advice.

I did try to catch up, boy I missed a lot in a weeks time. Let me just add a
:cool1: for the weight losses, NONE FOR ME, STRESS EATING, haven't gained any back though that's a plus. :thumbsup2 for the new car, for the job changes and challenges. pirate: to kick a EX's rear end for causing trouble.
and a :grouphug: to all the rest.

I have still been walking and watching what I eat during the days, but damn the night time. I will get myself under control again and real soon.

This is why I am stress eating: Almost 2 years ago my brother in law apprached us and asked if we could do them a huge favor. Buy there house from them, give them the equity out of it so they could pay off their 140 thousand dollar credit bills, and get there finances undercontrol. We said no. Then the Mother & Father inlaw came to us saying it would be ok to help them, Then the banker called and said it would work out go ahead.
We said No, because if it does not work out we are the asses who have to kick them out. Plus not to metion the money we will lose. So my husband talked me into this deal and this is how it went down. We bought there $510,000.00 7 acer oak wooded home, but only financed it for 398 and we gave $70,000.00 to Brother & Sister In law to pay off some debt and kept the rest of the equity in the house. We wrote up a agreement, they signed that they have one year to get there finances and crap together then they purchase the house back, but they have to pay rent to us and because of the high interst rate there payments are 3,300.00 a month (ouch I know). Well, I knew after the first month rent was late this was going to be hell. So guess where the payment has to come from, US and it was late every month, sometimes they didn't pay until the next one, and if we asked for it we were the A--H---s. A year went by and they asked for more time. I just shook my head, My husband just let it go, well guess what, they stoped paying, because they could not keep up with there other bills. HMMMMM. Did you see this coming? So Husband calls brother who said to husband I would never talk that way to you, (Husband said a few bad words) or treat you this way. Now Haven't we been the one's helping, plus does he not know we are out the money each month when he does not pay. Now it has been 5 month not paying that's 16,500.00 out of our pockets, So we called and told them we have to sell the place. They don't call back, we call again, realitor is coming Sunday need a key, no answer. Finally Sat. Brother In law answers and says when the H--- do you want us out. We ask do you have any way to get the financing so you can keep your house he says no and hung up. Now Brother , Sister, Mother, Father, in law are all mad at us for not doing more. We told them all this was not a good idea and if something like this had to be done, we would be the one's everyone is mad at. Now, my siste inlaw and I have been like sisters to each other since we met when I was 16. Raised the kids together all that stuff. My husband and his brother aways got along. This was there dream house they have been there 18 years, but we can not afford to pay anymore.

Not sure what the realitor can come up with for selling it. Hopefully we can get what is owed on it, but they way it looks right now we are going to be out a lot of money. Told Lyle if it does not look good for selling or we can't get it sold we should probably refiance at 6% get out of the 8.5% we are at and rent it out at a lower payment. Until the market is better. I don't know. This is just a mess. The place is bueatiful, well kept up I am hoping it will go. Remember Brother Inlaw already got 70,000.00 out of the deal.

Hope all this made sense I was in a hurry. I've got to get Son to appt. I will write more later. Jodi

WOW, Jodi! I don't even have the words! I am so sorry this financial burden has fallen on you. I can see how it happens though...Jeff and I would go through the same discussion of "We can't do that--it isn't a good idea." to "But we have to help them..."

Though I will say...YEE-OUCH to that mortgage payment! They had to know that they could not ever pay that monthly note. If they can't pay...buh-bye...there is a cute little ranch down the road for under 200K or whatever. They don't need a half million dollar home.

And as for 140K in credit card debt?!?!? :faint: What have these people been buying???

One lesson Jeff and I learned early in life...NO credit card debt. We are freaks when it comes to debt. (Learned the hard way in our 20s.) We only have our mortgage and that is it. And that will be paid off in 6 years.

I am sorry for the loss of the relationship, but my bet is that with time, you and SIL will be close again. It is just going to take time for them to realize that this is their issue, not yours.

I hope it works out for all of us. My problems is I worry about them and us, I get little sleep the way it is so now I just lay there and think. I dont' think is is fair everyone is angry at my husband, I think he did a good thing trying to help them out, I just wish they would see that, they could have even stayed longer if they would have just kept making there payments.

We have some much on our plate right now, work is starting to pick up now that the road restrictions are lifted, but we need 2 more drivers. Kids bills keep adding up, Zac needs to get braces, he has major jaw surgery in 8 months the $5000.00 for braces we pay the $40,000.00 for surgery insurance is going to pay, (thank god). Hanna has senior pictures in June, you know that's not going to be real cheap. Then there is college fee's, we pay for them to go to college that is $15,000.00 plus per year for Zac and Hanna starts in a year half. This all does not even include are business bills plus home bills.

Ok, enough whining we will get through it and life will go on. Like I told the kids our boot straps are getting tightened and that included everyone. Lucky Hanna & Zac both have good paying jobs and Sara does babysitting. Over half of there money goes into an account and the rest they can buy the extra's they think they need. But they are kids....

I will keep up with my posting, you are a great sounding board for good and bad news.....Jodi

Jodi - I am sending good wishes and hugs your way as you do have a lot on your plate right now. In time, your husband's family will see all the good that he was doing while trying to help. In the end, you and your husband must take care of your own needs first and then be there to help others. It is your future and that of your children that are depending on you today. You are doing the right thing no matter how hard it seems right now.

Feel free to post your complaints anytime. We are here to listen and it sure beats stress eating...

Hugs -

Hi All--just checking in at the end of a long day...

I lost 2.5 pounds this week... Of course, I have been yo-yoing up and down for the past 6 weeks, so the real test will be if it stays off next week. I am moving more so that should help the cause. I don't see any major stressors popping up this week so I should be good.

WOO HOO! Go Paula! Good numbers!

NOTHING SEEMS TO BE GOING RIGHT TODAY!

Sorry! Hope the kiddos are feeling better!

Liz just went to Vegas a bit ago...but she is in Vancouver now, so she isn't here to give you all of her tips! :goodvibes

Glad you are still here and reading! Has your life slowed down much?

As for me...I had a good run today...4.2 miles. I had to do it inside on the treadmill even though it was a gorgeous day. I am trying to run on softer surfaces while my IT bands heal. Tomorrow is another workout with the boys.

BUT...I had a great victory today! So I was running away on the TM at the gym and one of the guys who is in my workout class is also there working out. He is like 6'3" (more than a foot taller than me) and ex-military. He has a marine flat-top and everything.

I was finishing my run so I had slowed the TM down so that I could just do a cool-down walk for a few minutes. He saw that I was finishing and came over and asked if I was going to leave after my run or if was going to do more at the gym. I told him I had a few more things to do. And then...in a really shy way, he asked me to train with him because he needed some help with some of the exercises! :faint: I was floored! It was definitely flattering that he asked me for help. (And no...he wasn't hitting on me! I know his wife and everything.) So off we went and did a workout.

The rest of my day was spent shuttling kids to and from a variety of sports. And here is something interesting...well, Karen (my greenie) was at tennis when I was dropping my kids off (her son is in the same class as my kids). So I asked her if she wanted to hang out while the kids played tennis and she said, "Well, I need to go for my walk..." And I was like ?!?!? WTH? She told me that she has been walking for a month or so AND doing abs at home a few times a week! (Karen has NEVER done an ounce of exercise since I have known her. She is like the least active person on the planet.) I was like, um, you know that I am the exercise queen...why didn't you tell me you were walking and doing an ab workout?!!?

So you see...you all were right! She is totally a greenie! Anyway, I asked if she wanted me to walk with her and she said yes, so I got in a 2-mile walk in the middle of the day as well.

Then up to campus for the evening. I agreed to guest lecture (apparently the word NO is not in my vocabulary! Sound familiar, Paula???), so I am now just getting home from that.

Tomorrow should be a MUCH slower day, fortunately. Miracle of all miracles, no kid activities scheduled, so that is a huge help.

I am a bit stressed about my folks at the moment. They are in China (have been for the past week before they head into Uzbekistan)...and we haven't heard from them. Given the earthquake and all, I am starting to get nervous. I checked their itinerary and they are supposed to be quit a ways from where the earthquake hit. BUT...it is not like them not to check in. And it is JUST like them to give me an itinerary of where they are going to be and then end up doing something very different. So who knows where the heck they are! They could have been right near the quake site. So I will be nervous until I hear from them.

Erika I hope that you hear from your parents. Did we ever think about them when we were off having FUN? and They were home worrying about us. Juat positive thoughts and they probably are off exploring and having a blast!:goodvibes good thoughts

Hi! Back home...catching up...will be on here properly soon. Just wanted to say hi.

Hi guys - i know i've been Lurky McLurker-esque the past few weeks, this wedding planning biz-nass is getting to my head! I am hopping on to read a minute here or there, and i miss you guys! Only a few weeks left :scared1:

My grandfather has his treatment set up meeting at Roswell next wednesday, so hopefully he gets started and does well.

I'm thinking of all of you in my Bridezilla filled days as of late :goodvibes

I'm guilty of Lurking myself these days..:rolleyes1 For me, it's DRAMA CLUB. oy! What did I get myself into! It's nutso, but the kids are great - they are definitely making it worth the effort.

It's raining here this morning - grrrr :headache: No bike-y for me today. I went for a nice long ride on Tuesday morning, and I nearly got taken out by squirrels! Not once, not twice but THREE TIMES during my ride a squirrel :squirrel: :squirrel: :squirrel: (or in one instance 2 of the rotten rodents) ran right out in front of me - did a little cha-cha panic "which way to I go" dance and scooted out of the path of my tire just as I slammed on my brakes so not to crush it's little neck. :moped:

Dawn - loved your "bumper plumper" reference....yep. Just what I need - a plumper bumper! Hate to admit it, but those shorts are comfy. :scared:

Kat - you need to be allowed out of your cubicle a little more...poor thing!
:sunny: You always seem to be stuck in some tele-conference h*ll

Erika - I hope your parents check in soon...

Jodi - all I can say is wow! You were right, but that's not what matters now. I'm hoping that you had legal documents written up when you agreed to do this (not that it makes the personal aspect of this mess any easier...)

OK - DS will be home from his PT appt any moment now, and I have to get him to school...(did I tell you he can't get a parking space at school? Long-ish story, with a bunch of stupidity involved....very annoying)

Jodi:hug: My goodness. Sounds like you're "darned if you do and darned if you don't." It's too bad the family can't see what's really going on. Bad situation. All the way around. And, THAT IS A TON, A TON, of money, to be beholden to family for. :confused3

I'm game. I enjoy long-ish stories with bunches of stupidity,

I got a pm from Heather/chbc, she's not getting much support, regarding her last job. And she applied for her dream job, so she asked us to cross our fingers for her. (I'm still not sure why she's not posting, other than maybe she's worried about legal implications and what not.:confused3)

Nothing much exciting in my world. My last business class for 4th graders is today. Fun. That's all. Later.

I just paid $3.68 this morning. A record here. :sad2:

I would give anything to be back in my cubicle. The last three weeks have been literal conference h*ll, in a conference room about an hour east. I am really looking forward to getting away... 1 more day....

Hey Dawn,

Tried calling haven't reached you. Sara and I talked she is just going to go take group pictures with the gang at Molly's then head to the school, they have to be there by 3:30, I told her we will try to get a group after at the school, if not we will get Treynor and her together. Just have Treyner win his game and drive home safely. We will see him when he gets there....:) Love to both
