In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

I forgot to say - LIZ - soooooo cool that you saw Bruce! And gave him your parking space no less!

I want a celebrity spotting! Well, I AM in the UK - birthplace of Edward (in real life!) :rotfl2: I may need to go out hunting! :rotfl:

Nancy, Nashville April 21 through April 26 staying at the Hampton Inn off Donelson Pike (chosen WISH hotel by the group going). My family and I are going early as it is our April vacation and the kids get to see Nashville along with ME RUNNING THE COUNTRY MUSIC FULL MARATHON on 4/25. This is my first full and I am sure that I will be so cranked that I will not fully enjoy Nashville, until that afternoon/evening and then I will have to fly out early the next morning!!

There is a large contingent of WISHers going to this but most of them are doing the half marathon. I am looking at a 5:30 to 6 hour finish but secretly hoping for 5 or under.

Nancy - I took Wednesday and Friday off last week. I usually take Fridays off because I go out with my sister. Just haven't decided if I want to take Monday or Friday off this week.

Good Morning/afternoon ladies!

Kelly thought of you this morning because I had on Vh1 and I was dancing around the house ( best I could with the bum leg) while playing with the puppy!

Erika I didn't realize that K was back to this I thought it had gotten better? Please tell me that she isn't driving by too! Like she was in the past???

So I found my camera, I took some pics of Mocha today! So here they are!

:wave2: :wave2: to everyone else!!!!

There is SO MUCH fun stuff to do in Nashville. If you want suggestions, let me know. I'd be happy to share the things we did on our trip there :goodvibes

Nancy - I took Wednesday and Friday off last week. I usually take Fridays off because I go out with my sister. Just haven't decided if I want to take Monday or Friday off this week.

Ah. I didn't remember you taking any weekdays off - so when you posted your exercise for both Saturday & Sunday I was beginning to wonder if you had given your body a rest at all!:goodvibes

So I found my camera, I took some pics of Mocha today! So here they are!

Two things. Your dog is so freakin' cute, it almost makes me want one! :cloud9: And, 7 Deadly Zins is one of my FAVORITE wines. OMG. I totally love it. :thumbsup2

Erika - I can't believe Karen. It is way past time to have a conversation about limits and her dependence on you. The woman needs therapy - like now...

Steph - Mocha is too cute... Please take care of your leg and don't work too hard.

LisaV - So proud of you for walking into that bar. I know that is an incredibly big deal for you.

I think I may head for the gym tonight after all. I need to work out some frustrations about my job and I have to bake brownies tonight for an event tomorrow. I think if I work out, it will help keep me from stress eating my way through the brownie batter.

Things aren't horrible, but word is coming out that the belt tightening is going in another notch thanks to this economy. They are starting to cut some of our benefits - including vacation time, profit sharing contributions, etc. It could be worse (like I could be out of a job), so I can't complain too badly. The unfortunate thing is that this is going to make my time off that much more precious and my choices about where I'll be spending that time much more difficult. I think some time on the exercise bike tonight will do me some good to clear my head and help me prioritize my goals for the next few months. Nothing too difficult - about 35 minutes or so should do the trick. I'll take my break on Wednesday night instead.

Hope everyone's day is going well. I have JC tonight so I'll post results later. One thing I am noticing though. The droopy bummocks jeans are getting worse. I am going to have to bite the bullet and buy a few new pairs of jeans soon. Stacey and Clinton would be horrified if they saw the fit of a few of my current jeans. Good thing I just got some new coupons to Lane Bryant.

Paula

Nancy - thanks for keeping an eye out for me. :goodvibes

I am trying really hard not to overdue anything.

Hey Everyone!

I am so not caught up, but I will be. Busy weekend, Beach on saturday, fair yesterday and this morning Delena and I went to a walking group/playgroup at a local park. So much fun! And I met another mom with a girl Delena's age who jogs with a stroller so there is potential for someone to go on some runs with. Also went grocery shopping.

I am about to attempt a 6 miler on the TM. I didn't get to my long run this weekend although I walked about 8 miles total. I wore flip flops yesterday and my feet are killing me today. I hope I can get through the 6 miles.

Tomorrow I have an interview. It's at a hospital, WAY over in Tampa, so it's my last choice in terms of location and what lab departments are hiring, but it can't hurt to interview. I am hoping to hear from some closer to home jobs this week.

I did miss my beer this weekend. :sad2: :sad2: I've got a night off the wagon coming up for V-Day so I am looking forward to that.

I will be back later to catch up!

No degree is useless. I have a minor in Ancient Greek. Yes, really. It is a DEAD language. And while I could never get a job using it, it is so far from useless! It is about knowledge, and the breadth of that knowledge. If you just want a job, go to a trade school. But if you want an education, then go to college and get a degree in something you love. (OMG, can you tell I am all about a liberal arts education??? :rotfl2: )

My degree was fun... I have a BA in History with an emphasis on US/Asian History and a certificate in Southeast Asian Studies... I took Indonesian as a language but slacked off so I don't really know a lot... I don't use my degree at all and don't really know if I'd want to... LOL... but like I said it was fun to get. I love writing history papers... Don't think I have enough of my own ideas though to write a book or anything...

Liberal arts educations are the best! My BA in Russian/Spanish doesn't provide me much help in my job as a CPA --- but I'm one of the only accountants I know who can write a coherent sentence!

-I have lost 63 lbs (was more but I gained over the holidays... whatev tho I will get back down there).
-I have dropped my BMI 13.5%
- I have taken 6 inches off my waist
- I have taken 8 inches off my hips
- I have taken 4-5 inches off each thigh
- I have lost a total of 45 inches all over.

Celebrate! You are amazing! :worship:

I am really mad about last night but I looked back and know what happened. I did not have enough water. I did not eat enough for a snack between b-fast and lunch or nothing between lunch and supper and actually...most of the snack/dinner was one big blur.

I set my phone alarm to be a reminder for me to eat and drink. It is so easy to feel good about your choices until you hit 8 pm and are starving.

Anyway, moving on and having a better more concious day.

I hate screwing up. Hate it.

It's not a screw up -- look at the top of this quote where you figured out exactly why this happened. It's a process, don't beat yourself up.

When shopping I have been looking at calories even and saying - this isn't worth it or this is worth it. So a start to a better lifestyle not a day or a moment.

I do that at the supermarket -- people at the store must think I'm nuts when I stand there looking at a package of something, muttering "are you friggin' kidding me?".

Yes, I will call and gush over BRUCE. Quickly: he pulled up, asked if I was leaving. I said no, I was loafing, but I'd leave for him. He laughed and smiled, pulled back, waited patiently, and I freaked out in the car with Jackie. We were wearing workout clothes, btw, bc we had just taken a walk around town.

He looked good! And I was super cool and totally didn't stalk him.

Wow, how cool! :cutie:

Where is LisaZ? I must go back.

I'm here!!!! Thanks for checking on me.

Well, it was a beautiful weekend weather-wise -- 65 degrees yesterday, and we spent as much time outdoors as possible! :hippie: It was so nice to be able to go outside without a winter coat or even the formal fleece :rotfl: .

I ate and drank more than I planned over the weekend. We went to dinner at Bahama Breeze, and it was totally worth all those calories. Super yum (plus I got the leftovers for lunch today). We sat on the enclosed heated patio and pretended we were somewhere tropical. :cutie:

I tried a new recipe from Sparkpeople yesterday -- salsa chicken. Which was chicken breast baked with taco seasoning and salsa on top, then sour cream mixed into the sauce at the end. It was so good, even my 12 year old liked it (a rousing endorsement, no?). And really easy, so double score!!!

Well, I'd better get back to work. Have a great day, everybody!

LisaV - So proud of you for walking into that bar. I know that is an incredibly big deal for you.

Me too. :yay: Meant to say that earlier, but with all the mulit-quoting I was doing, musta got lost.

The unfortunate thing is that this is going to make my time off that much more precious and my choices about where I'll be spending that time much more difficult. I think some time on the exercise bike tonight will do me some good to clear my head and help me prioritize my goals for the next few months.

Ah yes. Nothing like some quality time with the bike to get your thoughts in order

The droopy bummocks jeans are getting worse. I am going to have to bite the bullet and buy a few new pairs of jeans soon. Stacey and Clinton would be horrified if they saw the fit of a few of my current jeans.

:woohoo: That's such a great testament to all your hard work paying off!!

What is it that Stacey says? Something about dress the body you have now? :confused3 Good luck tonight (don't really think you need it, but I'll wish it anyway  )

Amy - good luck with your run! And your interview. <crosses fingers>

YUM! Sounds good. I may have to look that one up!

And Nancy! WTH! The banana! Are we really back to that again? :lmao:

Yeah Baby! We are SO back to that.

He looked good! And I was super cool and totally didn't stalk him.

I want to know what he drives too. Did you write down his license plate or get a pic on that iphone of yours?

No worries! You're right, you're right, i know you're right! (Anyone get the movie line reference?)

Besides, I have this 5k on April 26th! Must starting moving!

I don't get the movie reference. Tell me.

Cutie!

Good for you for voicing it all. Step one. Of course you're there. Ongoing concern for Allison. I"m sure some of the hubby stuff plays. I am talking outloud - sorry if I am making assumptions. Our minds and our bodies can only take so much. There are people that simply flow through life. I had a moment where my therapist changed my life. I was whining about why I couldn't be one of those people. She told me "Lisa, everyone is different. But I will tell you that a lot of times if you feel the low - you feel a different high point". It's so true. So true. I have the most glorious moments/insights coming from low points. Don't get me wrong it sucks and is wrong to be low for too long. For sure. But I am not a believer of some "feel positive" all the time a la the secret. Because there are true gifts in the low, true gifts, and I simply would not trade those gifts for anything.

I've said it before - Lyz you need to look after Lyz more. I will not patronize because unfortunately I am not a mother. But regardless you need to look after yourself.

You are right Lisa. It's an ongoing thing. Thanks for your care and concern. I'm feeling good today.

Paula - oh Paula. You are so inspiring. Here's what happened to me this weekend where you were an absolute life guide. We were merely picking up wings. And I felt I could go in. It's a bar atmosphere. And it was one of those days where I felt I couldn't even walk in. Too ridiculous - I'm aware folks. :surfweb: . Anyway I come barging out of the car. Jean's like "I thought you didn't want to come in". I said, NO!!! Paula is on a date this weekend I can friggin' pass a line of boys at a bar for crying outloud!

:woohoo: LISA! Good for you (and Paula - do you see this. You are setting the tone.)

EriKa...Why? Your house sounds like so much friggin' fun. Holy crap. Besides the dams and furnace of course. What a great childhood those kids get. Holy. So lovely that you ran with each of the girls. Lovely.

I know!

Kat!!!

Forgive me for my ignorance and terminology. Suddenly, my address line, is that the name:laughing: , is missing. How the heck do I get that back? I'm lost without it.

Yeah, I have no idea what your talking about.

Nope I do calorie counting like Kat... I am trying to eat healthier calories to feel better but generally I eat anything within my calorie limit. Its worked for me so far so I am sticking with it... Like Kat most of my falling off the wagon has nothing to do with being hungry (I am well under what most say is healthy) but largely has to do with the fact I like eating with my husband and detest cooking 2 seperate meals... Kat found an interesting article yesterday on "starvation mode" and how it really doesn't hold biologically true. It was put out by Weight Watchers actually... I don't have the link here otherwise I'd post it... Anywho hope everyones day is going well... Our office is cold today.

Sarah, need that link or the article. Mmmmkay.

My CTO was in conversation when I walked in this morning and actually stopped the conversation and went WHOA. My very geeky boss (who rarely notices anything) took a whole step back.

Hahahah, this cracked me up.

Oh and... guess what? I got house approval to go run the 5K with Liz in April!! :yay:

:yay:

Just thought I should point out how great it is that most of us have 5ks in April or May... A year ago only a few were running... (bet E is proud) I am proud of the progress ALL of us have made! We are a kick *** group!!

She's gushing, I'm sure. (I don't tell her when I run, she gets ideas.)

I want a celebrity spotting! Well, I AM in the UK - birthplace of Edward (in real life!) :rotfl2: I may need to go out hunting! :rotfl:

Now that would be Awesome! Kelly, just started reading Confessions of a Shopaholic. Thinking of you and all your brit-ness.

And, 7 Deadly Zins is one of my FAVORITE wines. OMG. I totally love it. :thumbsup2

Nancy - That's great to know. Totally random. But whatever. I love Cinnabon Pecan Rolls.

Things aren't horrible, but word is coming out that the belt tightening is going in another notch thanks to this economy.

Paula, I am SO feeling you on the economy stress!

And I met another mom with a girl Delena's age who jogs with a stroller so there is potential for someone to go on some runs with.

That's good.

Liberal arts educations are the best! My BA in Russian/Spanish doesn't provide me much help in my job as a CPA --- but I'm one of the only accountants I know who can write a coherent sentence!

Hmmmm interesting. How did I miss you were a CPA? Speaking of, gotta file my &*(^ CAT Taxes today. For some reason I thougt you were an interior decorator. I have got to get my crap together.

I woke up today. :sunny: I cleaned my house, (even moved the chairs out of the kitchen and mopped, you know the drill, ohh, and cleaned the bathroom, just for you Liz). Worked out. Feeling good.

EriKa - your house issues just plain suck. And I didn't answer this the other day, no we don't get ice dams. And Karen. You need to have "the" talk with her.

Liz - I took more bathroom pics for you.http://s307.photobucket.com/albums/nn296/RandomE_photos/?start=all

Forgot - Steph - Mocha is soo precious. Dawn - Skyler - cutie patootie.

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for the comments on my droopy pants... its not pretty to look at right now, but a great feeling none the less...

I know you are cold right now, but I would kill for outside temps of 57 degrees right now... It has been too cold for too long right now.

Stay warm - I hear that Erika has the inside line on all things fleece and Nancy has the same for flannel....

Liz - listening to Bruce right now... know where I can find him?

Jealousy = seventy degrees Kat. Pure jealousy right now. :lovestruc

OH!!! The number of the box I used to dye my hair was also 70. Hence my confusion! :rotfl:

It is about 65 today and sunny and beautiful.

Well Kat,

I didn't do a thing. And my address line is suddenly back. Ah computers. :surfweb:

Yay!

For anyone needing the stalker count...by 9:45 am she had called 4 times! :scared1:

Geebus. :scared:

Tomorrow I have an interview. It's at a hospital, WAY over in Tampa, so it's my last choice in terms of location and what lab departments are hiring, but it can't hurt to interview. I am hoping to hear from some closer to home jobs this week.

I did miss my beer this weekend. :sad2: :sad2: I've got a night off the wagon coming up for V-Day so I am looking forward to that.

I will be back later to catch up!

Good luck on the interview!!!

I miss my beer too. I might not make the whole month.

We do salsa chicken all the time! Baking it with the salsa makes it moist and yummy.

Mr Kat will occasionally do it wrapped in foil on the grill, too, and then melt some 2% shredded mexican cheese on top.

Sarah, need that link or the article. Mmmmkay.

Glad that you are feeling better!

Here is the article/link: http://www.weightwatchers.com/util/art/index_art.aspx?tabnum=1&art_id=35501

So, today at lunch I drove around in the beautiful weather and shopped for makeup. Got eyeliner, mascara, lipstick, lip gloss, eyeshadow, all name brand, whole mess under $10. I love discount stores!!

Movie line is from When Harry Met Sally. Word. Love that movie.

LYZ!!!! OMG, so cute! Totally jealous of your towel cubby and totally stealing it. I am going to put one in one of the bathrooms, for sure. Just have to decide where. Maybe all of them! Love it. My bathroom pics will be posted shortly. Now I feel motivated. Ha!

Ok, so those who have been around for a while remember last year when I simultaneously remodeled three bathrooms! It was pure hell. Well, this half bath was my biggest challenge as I could not for the life of me choose a color. We all debated here for ages. I took these pics ages ago and never got around to posting them. It is our only half bath and is on the main floor. So it is the one that company uses, etc.

Eventually I will post pics of the other two bathrooms that we did (the master bath and the kids' bath). And this summer we are doing the guest bath and that is definitely one place I will use Lyz's towel cubby!

LOL!

EriKa! I love that color. I want to call it rust or a terra cotta. What is it?

I have a picture to hang in the bathroom, but I can't get hubs to do it. bah.

And you have an industrial Purel hand sanitizer on your wall!!! Who's brain child is that?

(The towel cubby and cabinets are custom made. I sleep with my contractor. Just sayin'.)
