In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

I bought myself the Sex and the City box set:

Lucky you. It's sitting right in front of me. It's a friends. She's in Taiwan and probably has no idea. Her mother said, "Lisa take it - watch it - just return it".

I watched - no guff - about 12 episodes in one day. See Erika that's why selling is at warped speed. :rotfl: My head hurts :rotfl: is that even possible? I guess without motherhood it was! Cause I did it. Thoroughly enjoying it. I thought there wasn't one episode I hadn't seen. I was pleasantly surprised. I found one.

I so can't wait for Blair Underwood. But many seasons to go on that.

Lisa, here is an American much further south than you. But plays ice hockey. And is currently watching Edmonton play Ottawa. :)

So sorry about your place. :(

I am so tired that I should totally be sleeping but am too tired to sleep. I have been up just 3 hours shy of 24 now. Whee.

I have been reading but not able to comment due to lack of decent internet. And today was slammed with meetings and then an epic fail of an interview (I was the interviewer, not interviewee). Just advice, NEVER lie about your skills. It is about the worst thing you can do and you WILL get caught. Just sayin'.

I have more to say but am too tired to type it. Maybe tomorrow.

Hi Kat. :lovestruc Still up. No worries about my place. I'm sad but I trust. Hey! Did I get something wrong? Are you not with your parents in Pittsburgh? I must be confused.

Hope the game is good. I'm such a bball girl. And football overtakes my life but not because of me.

Kat - hope you're sleeping now. That sucks. I so love  sleep.

Happy New Year's Eve, everyone! Time to wake up. What are everyone's plans??

We are going away, leaving today at noon, and meeting our dear friends at a resort that is half way between their home and ours. We'll do "First Night" stuff...stand-up comedians, fireworks, a huge dance party with dj in the street, etc. They have 3 kids as well, and all of the kids get along great and are, of course, psyched for a hotel and swimming pool, and all of that.

Gotta get ready to go--yikes!

Good morning everyone. Geez, it's 8 a.m. and I am STILL the first one on?? Yes I do get up stupid early and it is not my choice. Sleeping until 6 a.m. this morning was a true treat and I know that was still not enough time.

This is just a quickie as it is my day off, errand day, play with the kids day and install my new dryer day. Yes you read it right. The cleaning lady informed me that my dryer died yesterday midloads. After 17 years of service, I guess I cannot complain. The new one is arriving this afternoon. Old one pulled out and on the front deck, cleaned underneath and behind, race ready.

As for my workouts yesterday, I skied for 3 miles, mostly cleaning the trails. It was a toughie as all the hills had a blowdown either halfway or at the bottom. Stopping on skate skies requires lots of adductor and booty muscles, neither of which I have an abundance of. I think I do now though. I also did some yoga and ab work in the evening for my family amusement. Fun times, fun times. This morning we have a chiropractor appointment and will be leaving shortly, then the dryer delivery and hoping to get out for a ski before the winds arrive. Erika, batten down girlfriend, we are getting an inch or so but apparently you are in the higher amounts.

At some point today, I am going to check out the Freeport area for nordic ski trails. I think I remember LL Bean having some. If they do maybe I can get someone to meet me for a ski one of these days....:rolleyes1 I have a friend from the disneyrunning site who lives in Portland also who may come up to meet also. TwoWDWfools and her DH may be headed this way in February too... more true fun times.

I think that's it and I really need to get off the computer and get moving again. Shelby is still sleeping. Ah the life of a teen...:cloud9: I need to get her up and motivated this morning. Have a great day everyone and don't add too many more pages as I am having a hard enough time keeping up now!! LOL. ;)

Hi everyone...

I am a bit cranky this morning thanks to some crap at work and the little snowstorm that is going on, but I'll get over that soon enough... I am tired and a little sore from last night's workout, but it is a good sore right?

For those of you who asked (yes, Erika, that means you...) this is what my workout consisted of last night:

- 5 minute warm up on the bike
- squats and lunges (2 sets of 15 reps for squats and 2 sets of 15 reps for each leg in lunges)
- while kneeling on the stability ball (it has flat on the bottom and rounded on the top), I did 2 sets of 15 each of shoulder presses, front and side pull ups (I think that was what they were called... they are the ones where you pull the weights straight up in front of you and on the side)
- 2 sets of 15 reps each of core where I had my feet up on a round ball, lifted my hips off the ground and pulled the ball into my butt with my feet (easier done than typed)
- 2 sets of 15 reps of chest pulls (again, I don’t know if this is the right name for them) where I was on one of the machines pulling weights towards my chest to work my back muscles
- 2 sets of 15 reps of an overhead pull on the machine to work my delts

I added in a 20 minute cardio workout on the bike…

All in all, I feel pretty good and my next appointment is tomorrow at noon – what a way to start the new year… in the gym….

I am off to a gathering at a friend’s house tonight. Nothing major, but there is a Guitar Hero tournament planned so that should be fun…

Everyone be safe tonight and I hope everyone’s new year celebrations are fun…

Paula

Posting on the fly here...

I smashed my head bending down to get something between our fridge and stove...

OUCH! :headache: Hope it's better today!

ok...I really wanted to make a smart a$$ comment about knocking some sense into you...but I'll resist...;)

Anyway, I'm in the smallest size. And in all three that's even getting too big

  You GO girl!

I enjoy purging things - greatly - so that's another positive. My parents are the opposite. I actually tell them that their basement is pure child abuse when they die. :rotfl: Yes, I tell that to their faces. :lmao: To leave us to deal with that and losing them or one of them. That I hope they're in heaven laughing their a$$es off when the time comes. It's unreal. You know like ski boots from the sixties. A polka dot cullotte one piece from God knows when. 45s. Probably an 8 trak/track????:lmao: :rotfl: It's incredible. They never throw a thing.

:rotfl2: My parents have moved several times in the past 10-15 years....so THANKFULLY most of the clutter-crap has been dealt with. Well...from the perspective that it hasn't moved with them. My brother and SIL bought the house that we grew up in...and when my parents moved OUT...a TON of crap stayed behind! So my brother was stuck dealing with it :lmao:

Once again we're the clueless twins. me and you  Aren't we cute?

Cause my dear Nancy I had no idea. :lmao:

Two peas in a pod, we are..

. And today was slammed with meetings and then an epic fail of an interview (I was the interviewer, not interviewee). Just advice, NEVER lie about your skills. It is about the worst thing you can do and you WILL get caught. Just sayin'.

Ugh. That musta really sucked.

Happy New Year's Eve, everyone! Time to wake up. What are everyone's plans??

We'll do "First Night" stuff...stand-up comedians, fireworks, a huge dance party with dj in the street, etc. They have 3 kids as well, and all of the kids get along great and are, of course, psyched for a hotel and swimming pool, and all of that.

Gotta get ready to go--yikes!

Sounds like fun. :woohoo: We always have a party at our house...friends & their families. Hang out, eat too much good food...have a few drinks...play games...stuff like that. We have a bunch of *extra* teenagers coming tonight...I don't mind though - they're good kids, and I'd much rather know where they are and what they are doing!!

Erika, batten down girlfriend, we are getting an inch or so but apparently you are in the higher amounts.

It's snowing here - we're supposed to get 4-7"...hope your drier arrives safely!

For those of you who asked (yes, Erika, that means you...) this is what my workout consisted of last night:

- 5 minute warm up on the bike
- squats and lunges (2 sets of 15 reps for squats and 2 sets of 15 reps for each leg in lunges)
- while kneeling on the stability ball (it has flat on the bottom and rounded on the top),

A BOSU ball, sounds like. I love the BOSU ball :lovestruc

I did 2 sets of 15 each of shoulder presses, front and side pull ups (I think that was what they were called... they are the ones where you pull the weights straight up in front of you and on the side)
- 2 sets of 15 reps each of core where I had my feet up on a round ball, lifted my hips off the ground and pulled the ball into my butt with my feet (easier done than typed)

- 2 sets of 15 reps of an overhead pull on the machine to work my delts

I added in a 20 minute cardio workout on the bike…

:woohoo: Sounds awesome Paula!!!

All in all, I feel pretty good and my next appointment is tomorrow at noon – what a way to start the new year… in the gym….

I am off to a gathering at a friend’s house tonight. Nothing major, but there is a Guitar Hero tournament planned so that should be fun…

Ahhh...Guitar Hero here too. It's always fun. We just got "World Tour"...didn't realize that you could do the vocals/drums with that. :rolleyes1 We do have 2 guitars though - so lots of battles!

Everyone be safe tonight and I hope everyone’s new year celebrations are fun…

Yes - please be safe everyone! We want us all here for '09!

Awesome work-out Paula! And the flat-bottomed ball thing is called a BOSU. They are great for core work and it sounds like your trainer gave you a FAB work-out.

Lisa/PR and Nancy-- we are going to get the 4-7" but we are heading south (to just north of Boston) and are expecting 8-12" there. I get to use my snowshoes tomorrow! YES!

LisaV--WOOHOO on the teeny tiny sizes! Best feeling ever!

Liz--big prayers covering NJ right now.

Kat--you get more time off tomorrow, you will make it!

ALL--Have a great and safe night! See you on the flip side in 2009!

Nancy - thanks for coming to my rescue on the name of the Bosu ball... I already like the sound of that...

Lisa - I here you on the clutter at your parents' house. My parents put an addition on the house when I graduated high school. They still haven't fully unpacked the basement from when they moved the contents of the kitchen down there... I think they still have unopened wedding gifts down there and that was from 40 years ago... I so dread having to clean that out...

Dawn - feel better... I hate it when I do clumsy things like that... usually I misjudge a corner and end up smacking my shoulder into a wall...

Kat - at least the terrible interviews provide subject matter for good story telling opportunities...

OK - have to get back to work... crunch time around here...

Paula

Hi all. This thread has taken off!!! I can't even believe it. So much I want to say, but too lazy to go back and look for it.

Kat - interview sounds interesting. Poor interviewee - bet they were sunk. lol.

Paula - your workout sounds INTENSE. I wouldn't mind a cute personal trainer. Incintive and all. Course then I'd pass gas or something horrendous.

Dawn - I hate stupid accidents like that. Makes a good Baptist want to cuss. (Good thing I'm not a Baptist).

Erika - the video - embarassingly simple. Just recorded on my regular digital camera. Uploaded to my photobucket account and posted here. Voila. Have fun swimming and new yearsing.

Liz - good news about Jodi. Very good.

Nancy - oh, I want guitar hero really bad. I want a Wii really bad too. Eventually. I just couldn't justify it for Christmas when they got other stuff. KWIM? There is just too much excess already.

LisaPR - hold up. Are you telling me your cleaning lady does laundry? Holy Heck Batwoman, you are livin' the dream.

LisaV - woohoo on the capris. I want that.

Hi to Everyone Else. Amykab & Steph - awful quiet lately. Or is this thread moving so fast?

Happy New Year's Eve!!!

I love sleep too!! I finally got some and feel like a new person.

I was with my parents until yesterday AM. My flight was at 6:30, got into RDU at 9:30, and I worked until 6:30 or so. My office is literally < 5 min away from the airport so my boss picked me up.

A friend of mine had two extra tickets to the hockey game tonight so that is what we will be doing. I will be at work until 4 or so and D works until 6. Tomorrow we both have off so we will be lazing around the house. :)

Oh, and the terrible interview was more funny than anything else. People just never cease to amaze me.

Hope everyone has a great New Year's!!

Nancy - you are too funny. :lmao:

Loved that some of us have people that don't chuck a thing. I so love to get rid of things. Oh boy. I so wish my camera worked. I would find some doozies to laugh at. But then again I guess that would be mean to my lovely hoarding parents to do so. So no. :lmao: :rotfl:

Nancy - I just got down from working out. I was suddenly thinking about what you said about how you love that I put it all out there. You know why? I never did that for years on end. Never. Some of my friends would be pissed that I would listen and listen and not share. Yes, I do realize that that is so hard to believe!!!!:lmao: But the truth. For years. And that took me into depression for years. At first I didn't say a thing because I was scared. And then I didn't say a thing because i was scared others were put off or think I wanted sympathy when I just wanted to talk. And always a combination of the two. Plus, for crying outloud it's not the bad stuff - it is what it is - it's the A happened so B is happening now. And to deny myself just to state facts when they are valid to talk or growth is crap. They say that depression is anger inward. And what took me out, besides therapy, was talking and not letting things sit. So that's why it's so "easy" for me to do. It's a choice for me. I'm not going back there. It was ugly. And I'm not going back. I'm not.

So now I want to thank you all. My rambling is about not sitting with the
Sh!t and letting it rule. It's ridiculous to look in the mirror and feel scared instead of happy. And I'm not having it. Nope.

I feel good. So thank you everyone. And thank God for this place to say no friggin' more. I like that "no friggin' more".

Gosh that sounds fabulous. That's nice. Have a ball Eirika. Or hope you did - I'm sure I've missed you.

LisaV--WOOHOO on the teeny tiny sizes! Best feeling ever!

!

Thanks Erika and Paula and Nancy and everyone. :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: I highlighted yours Erika because I went into hysterics. No one has ever said teeny tiny sizes to me and never will again. :lmao: I was almost ten pounds at birth and well you get the picture. :lmao: Thanks.

Oh crap Paula. I highlighted your post. What the heck? I loved hearing about your training session. I  it. Keep sharing the Jesse plan.

By the way a guy was using some kettle balls upstairs this week. Anyone tried them?

I love sleep too!! I finally got some and feel like a new person.

I was with my parents until yesterday AM. My flight was at 6:30, got into RDU at 9:30, and I worked until 6:30 or so. My office is literally < 5 min away from the airport so my boss picked me up.

Hope everyone has a great New Year's!!

Yeah. Sleep for Kat! Sleep is so wonderful.

Have fun at the game Kat. That's great.

Okay everyone - I'm off to get somewhat settled at my parents - and move a few things. My father's computer has a virus - actually three - which I'm sure he shared with all his good friends. :lmao:

So if you don't hear from me that's why. I'm okay.

Happy, oh so happy, New Year!!!!

Nancy - thanks for coming to my rescue on the name of the Bosu ball... I already like the sound of that...

I like the sound of "bosu" too...really it's an acronym for "Both Sides Up", 'cause you can put it on the flat side or the ball side...tricky, huh? ;)
I wouldn't mind a cute personal trainer. Incintive and all. Course then I'd pass gas or something horrendous.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Have fun swimming and new yearsing.

"new yearsing"...I read that as new year SING...and I'm thinking, "Erika is going to SING tonight?" :confused3 again...I'm a little slow on the uptake. At least I catch on eventually....usually....

Nancy - oh, I want guitar hero really bad. I want a Wii really bad too. Eventually. I just couldn't justify it for Christmas when they got other stuff. KWIM? There is just too much excess already.

We got the PS3 last year...with Guitar hero. Got a 2nd guitar for Nate's birtday last spring..and now..they want the mic & drums :headache:

LisaPR - hold up. Are you telling me your cleaning lady does laundry? Holy Heck Batwoman, you are livin' the dream.

Yeah, what is THAT? I don't get a cleaning lady. DH doesn't believe in them. :sad2: So...today my kids are all being "Cinderella's" and cleaning the house before our party  Becca always ends up with the bathrooms. She HATES it, but would rather do that today than shovel the sidewalks with the boys!

I will be at work until 4 or so and D works until 6. Tomorrow we both have off so we will be lazing around the house. :)

ENJOY!!! :thumbsup2

"no friggin' more". I like that too. :thumbsup2

I gotta get back to my kitchen....cooking up a storm for tongiht. Why oh why do I always say I'm going to "keep it simple" then end up going way overboard? :confused3

Yeah, what is THAT? I don't get a cleaning lady. DH doesn't believe in them.

Exactly! I "AM" the cleaning lady.

"no friggin' more". I like that too. :thumbsup2

Spill. What are you preparing?

For everyone else? What are you stuffing down your mouth today? Seeing that it's your last opportunity...

I am thinking onion rings and donuts with cream. And full on, sugar and caffiene COKE. Come to Mamma.

Wait, am I the only one thinking this way?

If so, I'm just having a salad and water for dinner. Hold the dressing.

Hey dolls. iPhone posting here so excuse the errors.

At a Drexel basketball game in Philly with Nick. Spending NYE here with his college buddy, the one who got married this summer, and new bride. They are quiet. I'm not sure they like me. I know, right? Who doesn't just LOVE me??? Anyway, a bit nervous about that.

We are going to dinner and a rock show which I am sure does not surprise any of you!

So. All caught up. Sorry not to reply. Did not weigh in because I took Jodi to the dr. More bleeding, but that remaining baby is still holding strong. She even got a picture!!!

I can't thank you enough for your sticky baby prayers. I know they make all the difference. We are praying for a very boring pregnancy now and a healthy baby and mom. Again thank you.

Happy New Year to all of you, my good friends. I am so grateful for all the support and friendship you have given me this past year. The second is my one year on this thread and I thank you all so much for making 2008 the year I believed in myself. Much love, joy, and happiness to all of you.

I'll be back posting on the second, but will be reading the next day.

Xoxo.

Oh, and as if this morning I am back to tracking. Full on. Only good choices for me tonight! I hope!!!

Happy Almost 2009! I hope everybody has a fun and safe night. I'm probably going to hang out at home tonight. I really don't want to be out an about. Besides, I have a new book that I can knock out in about 3 1/2 hours tonight.

Wow, what a day at work. All I am going to say is it was very long. I need to insert the song Under Pressure here.

In other news, my back has returned to it's normal self. :cool1:

I ate too much because of stress today, but tomorrow is another day. Here's to our challenges and helping each other through this crazy thing called life.

Once again, I gotta catch up some more. See ya in 2009!

I'm not sure they like me. I know, right? Who doesn't just LOVE me??? Anyway, a bit nervous about that.

What?!?!?! I hate them. lol.

Word.

I ate too much because of stress today, but tomorrow is another day.

Yep. That was it. Tomorrow's the day. Da da dummmm.

So I totally had onion rings for dinner. Mmmmm good. But I opted for the diet coke. See, not all bad.

I am deChristmasing the house. Golly, it didn't take this long to put it out!
