We're so excited that we're on our way to the Fort but this is a first trip for us in the winter and it is off as a challenge. We had some snow here in Ohio today and with the freezing temps we believe either our washer fluid line froze or just near the top did. So we have made multiple stops to clean the windshield. At least now we are out of the wetness and looking forward to warmer weather. As soon as we get this working again we're going to run it out and put the orange stuff in. We can't wait to be at the Fort! :)

Safe travels. It's chilly here in Tn. Hopefully Fl will be warm.

It may be the fluid in the line that is frozen, blocking it from coming up from the washer fluid tank. As you get into warmer temps this should clear. There is always the possibility that the fluid tank itself froze and busted, which happened to me two years ago in my truck.

Either way, be safe on your travels and let us know how your progress goes.

tinan we will be following you soon. Can you tell me if you drove through the mountains in Virginia on I 77? I was wondering what the mountains were like.. I'm hoping for no snow..

Thanks twogoofycampers I know it will be warmer than the 15 degrees we left at home

Tiggerdad yes we plan on checking it in warmer weather but of course we are hoping for the best of the line being frozen

Veraletta we will be headed down 77 through va. We just haven't made it there yet as we're still in w va. It didn't look like we should hit any there though. We've been watching the weather through the week and would have change course if it looked bad.

Veraletta we made it through va without any problems and no snow when we came through. I'm bot sure when you're leaving but double check because dh thought they may be expecting some tomorrow. He hasn't looked at it recently so he's not sure if the forecast changed any.

Gett'n soma that Fort pixiedust: !! Way cool !!
How long do ya'z get to stay home before return'n to chilly Ohio ?

Tinan We will be leaving tomorrow... Hoping to get to the fort around 12 am.
We want to be in the mountains the warmest part of the day. We going to head out before the next storm..

Safe travels and have a wonderful time. We are just 23 days and hours before we head south ourself.

Veraletta well I hope you are ahead of it :) something I learned today that I didn't know.......flying j does a preauth of $500 each time we stopped for gas. My card blocked thinking it was fraud and I had to call them but I didn't realize their preauth was so high!! Dh said no more for us or we will go to the car pumps since they shouldn't be that high. Just thought I'd share in case you didnt know also.

Wow thanks for telling me about flying J's I didn't know that...Do you run your propane for heat while driving? I'm worried about using it. I plan on using our space heater with Gen.. We will warm up rv before we leave... This is our first time driving RV in winter months...

Jbrosrek and wiigirl thanks :)

Veraletta yes that's crazy about the preauth on a class c gas. We didn't run with any other heat source besides what is in the cab. Just be sure that your back vents are open and you should be good. We stopped to get propane just because we were low. We may need it if we stop at a walmart on the way home.

We are on the final stretch as we're in fl now :)

Woo hoo you're in Florida, we can't wait until tomorrow...
Hope you get a nice campsite.. How is the weather in Florida?

Safe travels everyone and have fun at the Fort!

We are going back to our normal temps here this weekend, but we will highs in the mid to lowers 70's. Enjoy! Personally I hope these temps play out all through until Christmas Eve. Then a cold front would be okay as long as we get back to these temps by the weekend. ;)

Can you tell I have lived in Florida my whole life! LOL!

Mmketeer Thanks, my husband will be happy about the weather being in the 70's... We are only staying until December 22nd, my daughter has to go back to work.
