Hey everyone! For our honeymoon were staying at the AKL, but we definitely aren't going concierge. However, I was trying to figure out if there is anyway to ship things down to the AKL before hand, to see if they could put them in our room before we get into there. You know like putting flower petals on the floor or if I could somehow arrange it to have champagne and dinner waiting for us in our room as a surprise when we get back from the parks. Is it possible to arrange something like that if you aren't staying in concierge? I plan on calling the AKL about this but I wanted to know if anyone had any personal experience with this. Thanks so much!

There is a florist on site... my mother-in-law had flowers waiting for us in our room at the BWI when we got engaged.... and we weren't staying concierge that trip. I'm sure they have some type of petal sprinkle thing, or at least they can send roses and then you could rip them up yourself.

As far as arranging special dinners and surprises you could try contacting guest services... I jumped through several hoops with various CMs at the Poly trying to get a birthday cake for my dh one year and finally was put in contact with the chef at Kona but when his birthday came there was no cake. I was disappointed after making a dozen phone calls, I think it's hard to get those kind of special things when you aren't staying concierge.

It might just be best to sneak off from your partner at some point and do it yourself. ;) Fake a headache or something. ha ha

Hey thank you so much for the quick reply! lol I wish I could get away with faking a headache but I'm a terrible liar! Thank you for the information about the Disney florist though! I didnt know they had one for guest's use asides from weddings there so I'll be sure to look that up! I may try the ordering carnations thing in that case and just rip them up myself! So thanks for the tip that things didn't turned out as you had planned! I'm thinking I might want to try booking an illuminations cruise as someone had suggested and perhaps some horseback riding and just not tell him about it!

Also, I'm really sorry to hear that the birthday cake didn't wind up delivered like you had planned! That must have been really disappointing!

Thank you again for all of your help! It's greatly appreciated!

Make sure that your reservation is noted with the fact that it is your honeymoon. There are a number things you can have done as a result of this. When my wife and I went to WDW for our honeymoon back in 1999, we stayed at Dixie Landings (now Port Orleans-Riverside) and had a fruit basket and flowers in our room when we got there.

You should speak with a CM and make sure they place a note on your reservation about your honeymoon. Plus find out what other options you can add on for check-in.

By the way, did you consider using a towncar for transportation from the airport to the hotel? It is not much more than a Mears ticket or even a rental...but it might add a little more class to the beginning of your trip.

Above all, I wish and yours a great time...congrats!!!

Just keep in mind that until you are checked in your room could be assigned to someone else. Don't arrange the surprises until after you are checked in or someone may be enjoying your surprises.

We've never stayed in concierge, but I have had wonderful success arranging in-room surprises for DD with Guest Services. Admittedly, I've done it after check-in, face to face. But definitely do let them know why you are there. Who knows what magic may come your way? Congratulations and happiness!!! :rose:

You can call the hotel and ask to be connected with the CM in charge of the orders from the hotel's hospitality menu and book it direct before you check in. At AKL they have some beautiful things made out of chocolate and of course things like choc dipped strawberries. One possible hitch on the bubbly, depending on who's on duty, that might not get delieverd unless there's an adult in the room to recieve it.

HTH

Oh wow thats a lot of great ideas so thank you all so much! I like the towncar idea but were driving down from Ohio in our Jeep, otherwise we would definitely do that. I like the idea about the chocolates b/c he's a sucker for chocolate! :) And thank you for the tips as well about arranging most of it after we check in, face to face. I think I may do that if possible, but I'll have to sneak out before he wakes up or something. (A hard thing to do considering he's always up first! lol) And I'll definitely make sure they note that it's our honeymoon. I wouldn't have known to do that before so thank you as well for mentioning that! You have all just been so incredibly helpful so thank you so much! :) :earboy2:
