In-Room Surprise at Shades of Green?

I am booking a trip for my DH and I for this coming December. He's just coming home from deployment, and we're celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary at WDW-where we spent our honeymoon!

I came across the gifts of a lifetime site, which gave me an idea. I would really like to be able to have something special waiting in our room for us-if not the first night, at least one of the nights we're there! I do recall, though, there being a way to do something like that through disney?

Would it be possible to arrange something like wine/wine glasses in the room, with a celebratory cake (cheesecake, if possible!) delivered to the room while we're at the parks? We're staying at Shades of Green, so I don't know if that will come into play at all...

I posted in the adults/solo travelers about looking for romantic ideas (so if you have any others, please feel free to share!) I just thought this might work better here since it's resort related! Thanks!

Sorry, I don't have any ideas/info for you. I just wanted to thank your DH for protecting our freedoms as well as you, your DH and your family for the sacrifices that you make. (As a former Army wife, I know how challenging it can be)

I am with PudgetteD - thanks to both you and your husband for the sacrifice you make. I do have a suggestion for something romantic. Try a horse drawn sleigh ride from the Wilderness Lodge over the campgrounds. I think you can book them 60 days in advance so that would be soon. Although I have yet to try one - it looks so cozy. Have a wonderful anniversary.

Thank you both for your thoughts DH is in the AF, and this whole life is pretty new to me! It's his first deployment, and thankfully it will be over soon! I will pass these words onto him when I talk to him

Someone mentioned the sleigh ride in the other thread...I'm definitely going to check that out! DH loves the outdoors--it could be just the surprise I'm looking for! Thank you

My daughter and husband stayed one night at the GF and I made reservations at POR for dinner and a carriage ride (for 2) and they were thrilled to death over the surprise.
Also, thank you to your husband for serving to fight our freedom. May God watch over him and the others during this rough time in our nation.
I hope you can find just the "right" surprise for the 2 of you.

We stayed at thew SOG this past May. I used WDWflorist. The flowers where in the room waiting for us when we checked in.

If your husband has been deployed for a year, be sure to call SOG and ask about their OEF plan. It will save you a LOT of money on the already cheap room rates!

This special rate is ONLY available to families who have been through a 12 month deployment. My husband is coming back from a year in Iraq in just 10 weeks.....and then we're headed to WDW with the kids!
