Does any one know if any rooms at the Yacht Club and in the Contemporary tower have refrigerators? If not is there a charge? We have some medicine for our daughter, age 1 that needs to be refrigerated. Thanks

I stayed at the Yatch Club 5 years ago now. I always get an in room fridge, but when I checked in, there wasn't one in the room. I called the front desk who in turn called housekeeping, who promptly brought one up to my room free of charge. I think when I stayed in the Contemporary Towers, I had to pay for it.

Last Nov. when we stayed at BC, there was a $10/day charge for an in-room refrigerator.

I understood that you could get the fridge for free if it was for medication.

That used to be the case, but there was much abuse.

If you don't want to pay for a fridge, you always have the option of keeping it in a couple Ziplock bags in the ice bucket, or you can stash it in the minibar. (There's always a little room to store a bottle of medication or two without removing the items in it).

When we stayed in the Contemporary Tower Club (12th Floor concierge), we requested a refrigerator and there was no charge.

Also, we had a refrigerator in September at the GF (non concierge) and there was no charge. I could be wrong but I thought I read somewhere that they are free of charge in the Deluxe resorts?? Has anyone else heard this?

They are not free of charge in the deluxe resorts, although if you are in a concierge room they might be complimentary. At the Poly in the concierge rooms they are already in teh room.

I am staying AKL concierge next week and DH's meds have to be refrigerated. THey are not free for everyone in conceirge. However, if you call the CRO and explain that you need a fridge for the meds and say the meds by name, then you will likely not be charged. I called and said, "Is there a fridge in the room? If not, can I get one because DH's ______ needs to be refrigerated." It was added at no charge.

From what people have been posting, it's inconsistent regarding whether you will be charged for a refrigerator for medication. It used to be free for medications that needed refrigeration, but people have written to me that they have been charged even when the medication had a pharmacy label that said it needed refrigeration. The reason they were given was that so many people were saying they needed a refrigerator for medical reasons just because they heard the frig was free then. One person even wrote that they were told the options were to pay for the refrigerator or have the resort store it behind the desk (even if that meant 3 stops at the desk for medications).

That said, I would still call and request one for medication like LizL did. You could also try calling WDW Resort Special Reservations:
(407) 939-7807
(407) 939-7670 [TTY] with your request. They are the ones you would call for any special equipment or needs.
If you need to bring the medication into the parks with you during the day, you will be able to store it at First Aid. You might also want to ask your pharmacy whether it needs to really be refrigerated or just kept cold. Sometimes there are other options to refrigeration or it is refrigerated more for taste than to keep the quality.
