Hello,

My husband and I are currently booked at the yacht club for April 2013. I am a chronic over analyzer and I have read both on this website as well as on trip advisor that the walls are super thin at the Yacht & Beach Clubs. People saying that they can hear the conversations from the room next door. We’ve stayed at several Disney resorts (Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness lodge and POFQ), we have never found the sound to be an issue at any of those resorts – is it substantially worse at the YC? Any insight on the in room noise level would be most appreciated, I don’t want to spend the next 9 months concerned that we made the wrong choice. To that end of you have found BC or YC to be noisy (in the rooms, I’m not concerned about the pool), what resorts have you found to be less so?

Thanks,
Jennifer

I've never heard neighbours at any WDW resort, incl. BC. But I guess if you get people who are very loud, and don't use their "inside" voices, you'd hear them no matter where you stay.

Stayed at the BC in May 2011 and I heard nothing from either side neighbor. :cloud9:

Stayed at BC twice in 2012 & didn't hear a thing from outside the room either time. If you have an issue with noisy neighbors you can always ask to be moved, they will do their best to accomodate you if they have room to do so.

Enjoy!

I've stayed at both and never found noise to be an issue at all. I suppose it could depend on who your neighbors are and maybe I just lucked out, but you should be fine. I love it there.

Stayed at YC and never heard a peep from either side. There were people in the rooms too!

We've stayed at YC 3 times and have never had a problem with neighbor noise. Did have a neighbor smoking on balcony on the last trip but a word to guest services and that was taken care of.:thumbsup2 It's funny, I don't know if I would stay at Swan again because we could here everything from the next room, children running, toilets flushing, everything! Enjoy the YC, it's our favorite.:flower3:

I have stayed at...
Swan, Dolphin, Pop, ASMusic, POR, Polynesian, BLT, CR (North Wing), BWV, BCV, VWL, OKW, Kidani, Jambo House. The only time I have heard any noise from my next door neighbors was at the Polynesian!!! We had a room with a connecting door..and had two different families in the next room during our week long stay. Both families were very loud. I finally stood next to the connecting door and yelled at my dd..'Honey, you have to use your indoor voice. People around us don't want to hear what you have to say!!'..now, my dd wasn't making any noise at all, that was merely for the benefit of those next to us. They did lower their voices after that.

Otherwise?? Never had an issue, anywhere.

We've stayed at Beach Club in Nov 2011 there were no noise issues. We were on the 2nd floor and fairly close to the lobby, so there was a lot of foot traffic going by us. Every now and then we would hear a child running but not enough that it was a problem and not in early morning or late evening hours. As for the room next door, if it weren't for seeing someone on the balcony I would never have know there was anyone in that room.

We did have a fairly noisy neighbor at BC. We were trying to sleep and kept hearing the father play with the children. Their children also enjoyed running and yelling in the hall in the morning. Thankfully they were only there for about half of our stay.

I think the connecting doors certainly help play a part. Our room at POFQ had a connecting door, and the family on the other side was quite loud. Figures they stayed as long as we did.

Stayed at YC in May this year and never heard a thing and we were on the first floor garden view (right outside of the Wedding Gazebo) and loved it!

Just got back from the BC, heard nothing from room next door. Could only hear people in hallway as they passed our door. And that was not an issues at all. Absolutely no issues at night...had wonderful night's sleep.

We had a very noisy neighbor during our stay at YC last November. When the Bellman dropped off our luggage at our room I commented about the noise and he said he'd take care of it ... and he did ... one minute later quiet :thumbsup2 Never heard another peep from our neighbor. :cool1:

We got a great deal at YC one year and it was one of those smaller rooms usually attached to a Suite. There were people in the Suite and there was even a connecting door, yet we heard nothing.

It was not a big room, but it seemed big because the bed was a pull down Murphy bed (Queen-size) and we had this great view of the lake and BW.

Only negative was we were at the very end of the hall and had a long long walk to the elevators. Not a biggie for us though.

The good news. There was a cake and champagne waiting in the room for some name I could not pronounce. We called the guest services because we figured someone would be disappointed about not getting their goodies. We were told to go ahead and enjoy them! Sitting on our balcony that evening watching the fireworks from HS (It was MGM at the time) then illuminations wqas a nice first night!

:thumbsup2. If I had a noisy neighbor I'd prob go down to speak with someone. It's too bad adults have to be reminded of curtesy.

One stay at POR I had a family next to us who let their kids run up and down the outside corridor yelling and screaming, then in and out of the room slamming the door each time. Lucky for us it was our last day that they moved it.
When I stuck my head out the door, the mom was just coming in from the parking lot, and asked me, is there a problem :sad2:
