In room ideas

I was wondering if anyone arranged to items in there room before the arrived? I would like to suprise my family, but I am unsure what to do, or how to do it. Any suggestions?

Do you want the room decorated for a special occasion or just because?
How about gift baskets?
Flowers? chocolates?

I did that last year...I'd had custom sweatshirts made up that said our name and "2006 Magical Gathering at Walt Disney World" and had them gift boxed and shipped to the hotel along with gift wrapped Pal Mickey's that were delivered as well. They were in our rooms when we arrived and the gift tags on the packages said "Enjoy Your Vacation! I'm so glad you're here, Love Mickey Mouse". No one knew they were coming so it was a nice surprise for everyone. My sister-in-law actually thought that Mickey Mouse sent them!!

I'm in the process of planning decorations for our rooms for our Magical Gathering. Since we'll be visiting during Christmastime I want to decorate our windows and the inside of the room. My DD and her family will arrive before me, DH, and my parents. So I'm putting her in-charge of decorating our mini trees which I will ship down ahead of time. She can decorate them so they'll be ready when we arrive. We'll be driving down. I would like to have a gift basket waiting for my parents in their room but I don't believe deliveries can be made to the resort room until they actually check in. I love the idea of having a surprise waiting for you when you arrive but boy, the planning it takes! Jeesh!

deliveries can be made to your resort prior to checking in, most of the time they will be waiting at the check in desk but if your parents are staying conceirge....they will be in the room upon arrival. Sometimes a runner will be sent to the room with the gift/basket after you have arrived.

I had a cookie bouqet delivered for our anniversary, with & , cute hearts and one that read "Happy Anniversary!" Made sure I had 5...one for each of us!!! I had it sent to the CR and it was put in our room while we were out to eat.
