We will be staying at Poly concierge in the beginning of June. I think it would be a nice idea for there to be a welcome gift there for 2 DS's (ages 5 and 1). What types of gifts have you had waiting in room for your kids? I'd like to stay in the under $50 range.

The staff planning folks at the Polynesian concierge can arrange this for you.

I think if they had any character stuffed animals in Polynesian type clothing it would be cute. I have heard of people having an autograph book and pen waiting for each child. If you tell them the child's favorite character, perhaps a special welcome message could be inside!:)

The wonderful staff at AKL Concierge helped me with this on my last trip. Lion King had just been released on DVD for the first time a few days before we arrived. They had the DVD waiting for DD(7) and it was very festive. Also, A Safari Minnie (since we were at AKL;) , a pair of binoculars (kids/plastic), a Tinkerbell twirling toy (like they sell during the nighttime parade), a Disney Princess coloring book and neat twist-up crayon pencils, an AKL pin - they added a few other touches as well and it was wonderful! I had an AKL t-shirt for my dad and a gift cert. for a massage waiting for my mom. It was a very festive way to arrive in the room!! All I had to do was email them my ideas and give them my cc # (I gave them this over the phone and talked with them about different ideas)

We had quest of honor pins, and auto graph booksorders they did add a few items and it was terrific!

Thanks, everyone for your suggestions. The concierge staff has already arranged for each of the boys to have a welcome card and balloons from Buzz and Woody for 5 y/o and Pooh Bear for the little one!

You dont have to be staying in Concierge to have this service done for you. I did this many times for all guest including campers at FW. The guest services at the FD can do this if you are not in Concierge. Just call a few days before your arrival.

Probably the most popular were BDay or Vacation packets. For birthdays-balloons, cake & personalized photo & autograph.
Children's Vacation Packets might include- balloons, personalized photo & autograph, plush toy, sunglasses, sunscreen, personalized mousekeeter ears, autograph book & pin.

You can also arrange for fun baskets from the Disney florist.
A popular one was a mini Disney lunchbox with snacks and a beverage that was ready to take to the water parks. The florist has lots of options.

I called the Contemporary Front desk and they will not help me, they just send me to WDW Florist. I would love to have some happies such as chocolate cover strawberries,(for my anniversary), and candie and treats for the kids, but the prices are very HIGH at WDW Florist. Any other suggestions?

I did this for my DS5 when we stayed at the Poly last October (not concierge). But, I did the baskets myself. I don't know if that's an option for you. I put all my stuff together for each basket in one suitcase, and then while my parents showed my son the pool and such, my DS and I went ahead to the room and placed the stuff in the basket and set it out on the bed. He was absolutely thrilled, and thought Mickey had put it there for him. (I actually did one for each day we were there based upon which park we would be visiting, and he loved it--he thought Mickey must have told Peter Pan where he was staying.) The arrival basket had a Pal Mickey (which I was fortunate enough to have picked up for me by a friend who went earlier in the summer), an autograph book/fat pen, guest of honor badge, monogrammed Mickey ears, cookies and candies, and a note from Mickey stating that he'd been waiting on him to arrive. Maybe you could do something like that? (My AKL day basket had a Simba and binoculars, etc., my MGM day had Star Wars stuff, my other MK day had Peter Pan PJs and figures as we did the Family Magic Tour, which I highly recommend.) These baskets and the look on my son's face was one of the highlights of our trip!
