Not sure where to post this so thought this might be a good place. We are headed to Disney to celebrate DD birthday. I would like to do something special like have a happy birthday banner and some balloons or something when we arrive?? I looked and see things can be ordered and sent to the room but the banners all come with "packages" and the packages are like $400 Not interested in spending that much. Has anyone done any of these in room things? Any suggestions?

I've done this twice through Disney Florist and loved it! There are options other than the super expensive several hundred dollar ones though, too.

Our trip last week was to celebrate both of my boys birthdays (both born in January) and ordered this:

I ended up adding a 2nd pair of birthday ears and 2 balloons as well. It looked just like the pictures and the boys loved it and it was more than enough treats (brought most of it home lol).

We've also done this one on our previous trip:

I did like the treat tote more - It seemed like more came with it (ultimately more than we needed of course, but it was fun to have cute disney world snacks when we came home) but mostly I just love the adorable tote and though getting that in addition to all the snacks was a better value.

You can't have it ready and waiting when you check in. Your room is not officially your room until you have checked in at the resort. Up until then, the room they will give you is subject to change. So they won't decorate your room before your arrival.

You can order balloons and have them sent up after you have checked in. But expect to pay a bit for them.

Thanks Pookasaurus, both of those looks cute. Maybe I will add a few balloons and see if they can add a HB banner in.

Maxiesmom, thanks for that tip. Maybe they can deliver while we're at the park on arrival day...

Either than or do it yourself for a lot less (during the night or send the boys on an errand early in the morning before you catch the bus) bag of balloons, some confetti and a banner ($3 or $4) add birthday ears while you are there and you are all set. This would let you personalize the decorations with his disney favorite.

I'm with dprincessmom. You can save yourself a boatload and do it yourself. You can easily set up your own banner, treats and presents when your daughter is sleeping or have someone else occupy her elsewhere while you set up. Maybe on the way to the elevator to head to the parks, you can "forget" something and need to head back to the room while they wait downstairs for you.

One time when I was down there a family put a big card on their door so that everyone who passes their room could sign it. I thought it was a fun idea. But I am also with everyone else it is much cheaper to do it yourself. If you are flying you can send your self a box up to a week in advance to your resort with all the supplies you need.

For my sisters birthday that is what we did. We also knew that we would have a microwave so we brought everything we needed to make "cake in a cup" so she would have a "birthday cake".
