I would love to surprise my friends with an in room gift display for our stay at BWI in November. Disney Floral and Gifts has gone insane - a cooler filled with snacks is over $100? You gotta be kiddin me!! :faint:

I don't want to just do a gift basket, I want it to be really amazing and awesome when we come back to the room one night. I'd like a treat basket, maybe some resort specific merch, a big welcome card and a Disney balloon bouquet. Not quite a "Mickey's Grand Welcome" or whatever but enough that they'll be really excited when they walk in and see it.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a service that will be willing to work with me and accept some of my input, and also come out cheaper than Disney's service? Would any place set something up for me but would also accept some things I sent down to them as well? I've heard good things about Pixie Dust Delivery Service but can't find a price range on anything. I also found a company called Mouse to Your House that breaks down specific pricing on certain snacks and things but no one seems to have mentioned them in many places(they seem to specialize in working with TAs but I think I could still use the service).

Any suggestions on how to make this amazing and still cut the cost a bit would be much appreciated! Thank you! :flower1:

Is there any way you can separate for a period of time and either pack up some things or go shopping when you get there, and surprise them with it in the room yourself?

following along and have been looking for something like this....would love to do something similar for my niece and nephew!

Ugh I wish!!! But i doubt I could get away with it, its only 3 of us and we don't plan on separating for at least the first couple days. And BFF is pretty sharp, she would get suspicious if I tried to go off on my own and immediately call me out! She's very hard to surprise

I am not aware of other businesses that deliver packaGes like that on property. A couple solutions come to mind.

1) order a Disney themed subscription box to be delivered to your friends at the resort during your stay. I know there are a bunch of specialty Disney boxes out there, but I do not have a recommendation for one over another!

2) You could use the Disney Parks shopping app for fun Resort items, and have some goodies delivered from Garden Grocers. You could pack everything in a park tote. Call and ask the concierge what they could do to help you with the surprise like holding your purchases/groceries. When I wanted to surprise my kids I would pretend that I forgot something and then run back to our room to set up the surprise. That way it was ready and waiting when we returned from the park.

I love that you want to treat your friends with some special items! Very thoughtful. Have a great trip!

My SIL is planning a surprise for their 10th anniversary. My SIL bought decorations, banners etc and will get some treats when we are in the World. The plan is for us to get my brother out of the room for a bit (prob to take my niece to the resort playground or whatever) while she decorates and gets stuff ready. I will be prepped to video when we walk in.

I highly recommend MemoriesByBetsy, she will shop for whatever you need and create something beautiful. The budget is totally customizable and very doable.
But beware that most places can't actually have something in the room when you check in (Disney policy), but you can go to the park for a bit and have it waiting when you return.

Are you still allowed to mail a package to your room? If so, make up a gift basket yourself before you leave home and send it to either yourself to surprise your friends or directly to them.

Are you staying club level? If so, the new IPO-Disney Signature Services, should be able to help. In the past, they have filled personalized Christmas stockings and gotten personalized Mickey ears and various other items for us. They were in our suites when we arrived. We used to use them quite often when my kids were younger. I'd say the last time was in 2012 but I would imagine they would still take care of it. I am fairly certain that we paid whatever retail was for the items. There was no other fee.

I'm following this thread as well. I'm looking to do a surprise as well. I called Disney today and they told me they can't put anything in your room until you have actually checked in as your room can change and they wouldn't want the surprise going to the wrong party. I agree prices can be pretty high.

To elaborate on my previous post, the reason we were able to have surprises left in our rooms before we were checked in is that we stay in 2 bedroom suites and they know in advance which ones we would be occupying as there are only a few in each resort. If you are in a room type that is more common, the room is not assigned until closer to check in.

I would suggest packing something and bringing it with you if you can. You could find stuff at the Disney store or even Dollar Tree for cute decorations (they often have Disney themed things).

One year, I packed Easter baskets for my kids with tons of cute Disney treats in collapsible baskets (from the dollar store), and surprised them. They were quite young and had no clue I had brought it all!

Good luck!

The only problem I see with using an outside service is you want it in room.... Disney will now only deliver to the front desk from outside even park purchases now go to the resort store and you must pick them up... Your only choice will to be pay Disney or find a time to be able to get away from them or somehow lend a key to your room to the person above.... I am all for the slight planning of using an outside service for what you will get in return.
