In-room Coffee makers, the Ultimate Thread

Last time I was at Dolphin (April 2025) the "flat pod" machines were the kind that had the disposable basket. They used to have Starbucks (which I hate) but now just have some generic coffee, not Joffrey's. I bring some extra pods so have to clean out the disposable basket and stick it in a drawer so housekeeping doesn't throw it away so I can make more than one cup a day. Yes, you can ask for more to be brought to your room but in the morning when I'm awake at 4:30, the two provided are not enough. I can't remember if you have to have the empty basket in the machine to make a cup of tea so the stream will come out even instead of all over the place.
Thats because Swolphin is a Marriott.

Updated w/ BLT & CCV refurb info

Value - Cuisinart flat pods

Moderate - POR, POFQ, CBR - Cuisinart flat pods
Moderate - CSR - Keurig single-cup machines

Deluxe - Keurig single-cup machines

Swan/Dolphin - Mr Coffee (flat pods)
Swan Reserve - Keurig single cup machines

Large CL suites at Deluxes - may have both a Keurig & a Nespresso)

Deluxe Villas - VGF, PVB, BRV, BWV, BCV, VRB, C@FW, HHI, VB, Aulani - Keurig Duos in most villas (studios usually have single cup Keurigs, but some resorts are changing over to Duos in all size villas)
** Big Pine Key @ VGF has Cuisinart flat pod machines for some unknown reason
Deluxe Villas - SSR, OKW, AKL-K - regular coffee makers - 4 cup basket in studios, 8 cup basket in larger villas (some OKW grand villas may have Keurig Duos)
Deluxe Villas - AKL-J - conflicting reports, some rooms have old style basket coffee makers, some have Keurigs (sorry, I have no idea which are the majority)
Deluxe Villas - CCV, BLT - just finishing refurb, redone rooms seem to have Keurig Duos in *all* villas, not just the larger ones
Deluxe Villas - RIV - most rooms have old style basket coffee makers, Tower Studios have Keurigs

Note: AKL J & K are both scheduled for refurbs over the next year or so. If patterns hold, the refurbed rooms will get Keurigs as per the rest of the deluxes. Your trip dates and whether you get a refurbed room or not will dictate your type of coffee maker

*** at any resort where at least some rooms have Keurig machines (either regular or Duo) you can always ask for a Keurig from housekeeping and if they have a spare they’ll bring you one
*** the same applies if you need a larger or smaller basket style coffee maker, or if you have a single Keurig and need a Duo

I do the exact same thing!

FYI, our recent stay in a PVB studio (classic, not the new tower) had the old style basket coffee maker. I request a Keurig duo or single, and they brought a Keurig single the next day. I had brought my own K-cups to use.

Cafe 1820 Costa Rican coffee, in case anyone is curious - sooo good! No, I am not Costa Rican, just liked the coffee after several visits there.

We were at OKW the last week of September, and they only had the regular drip coffee makers in the 1 BRs. At least, the type of basket meant that you didn't need filters. However, the important thing is that even though Disney's official website says that you can call and have a keurig delivered, that's not true. DH dutifully called, just as the website said, and just as the website said, he was told "Oh, yes-we'll do that!", he received another call about 20 minutes later informing him that they were sorry, but OKW no longer does that. So, I'm afraid the website's not correct.

Sadly, while you can call to request a different type of coffee maker, it only works if some other rooms in the resort have that type of coffee maker in them. For example, if you have a single Keurig and want a Duo at BCV, or if at OKW you want a larger basket-style coffee maker when you only have a 4-cup. Basket to Keurig only works at the few (and getting fewer) deluxe resorts where the regular resort rooms have Keurigs and the DVC villas have basket style.

So yeah, the website is incorrect if it doesn’t give you the whole picture.
