We will be arriving at WDW on May 18th. My youngest turns 7 on May 15th and is totally bummed that we couldn't be at WDW for his birthday; just didn't work out with school schedule though. So I'm considering having something sent to the room as belated birthday surprise.

Which companies have you all used for in room celebrations and liked?

We used Disney Floral & Gifts. Selected Presenting your Royal Princess package for 5th birthday celebration. The people were very friendly & helpful. Offered suggestions & recommendations. We also did CRT's Her Royal Highness Package, and some of the items were the same. Very helpful making substitutions & additional monogram for certain items. You select a time frame, & when you return to resort you room is decorated.

Also, not sure of any other company. I'm sure there are some that would deliver, but just to front desk. No access to your room.

I've used Gifts Of A Lifetime. Jane had lots of options for in room and in park celebrations. We are using her again this May to surprise our DSs for their birthdays.

I ordered a cake for my 3 yr olds birthday. A few minutes after getting to our cabin, a CM pulled up on a golf cart with balloons. She had a balloon for each child with post cards signed by Mickey. The birthday girl got several balloons and card with a picture of Cinderella in front of the castle wishing her a happy birthday. When they brought the cake (while we out), they also decorated the room. I was very surprised by all the pixie dust from ordering a cake!

Have been thinking about an In-room celebration for my son on our trip to the World in August. Does anyone have any pictures of their in-room celebrations? I just want to see the quality and types of items.flowers that are given.

Does Disney do anything if you note it on your reservation? We were there on my daughter's actual birthday so I don't know if that makes a difference but they made her cake out of towels and gave her a button and some balloons. I didn't ask for it, it was just noted on our reservation. It was also the year that they had the celebrate something special (I forget the exact name of the promotion) so I don't know if that is why it was done. I suppose it can't hurt to note it?

We went to Disney World for my dd's sweet 16 in November. We ordered the "Mickey and Pals Big Birthday Wish" Package from the Disney Florist. We also added on the "walking mickey balloon". There are some pictures in this thread in the last post http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3175439&page=2 . We also had a balloon bouquet delivered to chef mickeys from the florist as well.
Overall I would say that their service was very good. The Mickey balloon was supposed to be delivered with the in room celebration but wasn't there when we got to the room that night. We called the florist and they delivered it the next day with some extra balloons.

The Disney floral and gift is the only company allowed to enter a guests room on Disney property to decorate for special events. This service can be purchased for a small fee as a prior post has noted. You can always grab a birthday button when you visit a park. The button is free and when she wears it, cast members will wish her happy birthday. I've also heard that some cast members have given out special blank paper fast passes that can be used at anytime on any ride. I agree with you that it does not hurt to note in file and ask the desk when you arrive.

I have to disagree with this. I had Gifts Of A Lifetime decorate our room just 2 weeks ago. I had a key made for the day so the vendor could access the room while we were gone. The front desk at OKW was very accommodating and didn't seem annoyed or mad. They even offered a parking pass for her.

How would I be able to contact Gifts of a lifetime? I'm trying to figure out a way to surprise my mom in September while she's there for her birthday.

Do you call the resort ahead of check in about a birthday or wait till check in? Does it make any difference?

I did the in-room halloween last year direct from Disney. It was rather expensive for what you got so we won't be making it a yearly thing, but it was very cute and we will do it again in the future. It might have been more "worth it" if there had been a child with us though. (The big mice were part of the package)
