In room babysitting (this may get ugly!)

Won't the kids clubs be as expensive for two kids? Just curious.
Possibly, but we also could have used them again for just DS and chose not to. When you get to 3+ children, it's different.

In room babysitting is very expensive for a few reasons:
-4 hour minimum
-transporation fee
-tip if you choose to give one
-for kids night out it's an additional $2 per hour after 9:00 PM
-you have to feed kids first or leave money/food

It would be $80 + tip at the current rates for 2 kids from 7-11pm

I believe with the clubs you have more flexibility. The kids can eat there. To me, it's more of a fun activity that would be worth paying for. My kids love group babysitting, LOL. And after a few days of family time they start to miss interacting with others their own age.

i didnt read all the responses
we dont use sitters at home as we like to take the kids everywhere with us
i cant even remember the last time we out just the 2 of us
it would be nice but i dont even know any sitters and we only ask my parents to watch them or my cousins so sometimes it just to hard

i probably would not leave them with a sitter i dont know cuz I am paranoid about that stuff and would worry all night about the kids but this is me
i dont judge anyone who is comfortable with it

I may be late to this thread and haven't read what else was posted but we had an in-room babysitter for this last trip and it was wonderful. DD was 2 1/2. We were there for 8 days and used it to have a nice relaxing evening at Epcot and actually go on rides together. We used a sitter from Kids Nite Out her name was Minda and she was WONDERFUL. I am a Child Protection worker and I felt totally comfortable leaving my child with her sitter. A LOT better than some 12 year old who lives down the street who doesn't have a clue what she's doing half the time! Minda had an early childhood degree and teaches 2 year old preschool by day so she obviously knew what she was doing. They played and had a great time. She brought a whole bunch of toys and the next day DD kept trying to find those toys! She kept track of what they did while we were gone and made sure they didn't watch TV all night. I was also impressed as Minda made some very observant comments about DDs personality and development. I also think it was good for DD to have a break, relax in her hotel room, and play with someone and something different.

If your DD is used to having sitters and you can afford it, go for it. For us it was a wonderful experience and the night we were able to spend just the 2 of us was wonderful.

I have also heard of two other companies, All About Kids and Kindercare by Downtown Disney that will send sitters to the room. Any thoughts?

You are on vacation. I think you should go for it. Your daughter is old enough to tell you all about her evening. If you need a night out with your husband then you should do it.

No flames from me - I've already made arrangements with Fairy Godmothers to come to the Poly to sit my 3 and 1/2 year old DD on Valentine's Day so DH and I can go out to Le Cellier for a quiet dinner. It will be only the second time since we've had her that we'll be out alone together - the first was to grocery shop on her first day of school :rotfl: As the commercials say: Just do it.
