I have heard that in Cat 1-3 levels (might have been 1-2), you can arrange for in room sitters and not have to take kids down to the daycare area. This would be mostly for evenings to get a dinner after the kids would go to bed.

Any truth to this for the Wonder?

Unless this has recently changed, the short answer is no. We were in a suite on the Wonder and this was not available. This would be difficult for them to do, since all of the CMs already work some pretty long hours, 7 days a week. Plus, I wouldn't think there would not be enough demand to justify having CMs just for babysitting service.

Have stayed in a Cat. 2 on all three of our cruises. In-room babysitting is not offered. HTH

Ditto here - there was never any mention on either or our cruises (2002 and 2004) in a Cat 3. Nor have I ever read anything on the DIS Boards about in room babysitting.

Won't the concierge staff book times for Flounders if your in cat 3 or above?

The only information I could find was from an interview done with a DCL representative back in 1999. At that time, they did offer in room babysitting, but it appears that was before Flounders.

When we sailed, we didn't have a need for babysitting, so I never asked. If I were you, I would call or drop DCL an e-mail to find out for sure. Seems like something they would arrange for concierge guests, provided they had the staff.

We sailed in 1998 and at that time, there was no Flounders, and there was in stateroom sitting offered on a first come first serve basis. However thoe days are long gone! LOL
