We go to disney 2x a year. Our last family trip was Nov 2018. At that time, our 3 youngest were 3,4,5 and we had extended family to help. We went in May of 2019 sans kids. Now its time for our family trip again!

The kids are older and more than capable of walking...and we have no family to help Push them around. Despite that, I know we will need a stroller at some point For cooler, backpack, etc. Plus tired feet (Little A is 6 and complaining that his feet already hurt...we havent left for our trip yet. 😂😂😂).

Im wondering if itll be easier to rent a double at the park so all 3 can pile in when they feel like it... but Im also wondering if all 3 will fit in a disney double? I feel like the bench seat would make it easier....
A is 6. 45 lbs and 48"
L is 5. 44lbs and 49.5"
C is 4. 42 lbs and 38".

Definitely overthinking this, but the idea of packing and hauling my BJ citi mini around is...UGH.

The recommended max weight on the disney strollers is 100 lbs now as to whether it can sustain more than that, I don't know.

The thought of pushing 150 pounds of weight + the stroller makes me think you might just have to do a stroller share...or bring an umbrella stroller to stow under the rented stroller?

We rented from WDW when my kids were 4/4/6, all on the small/light side. It worked out fine, but the strollers were wider then. It was rare they’d all be in it at the same time, they were obviously old enough to do some walking. Mostly to get from one area to the next (we’d park it and go on several attractions), and it was great not having it on the bus (stayed at the BC so walked to DHS and Epcot).

Get or take a double and make them take turns. You aren’t going to find one that truly fits 3 and meets size requirements. You might be able to have one sit over the front wheel, but I wouldn’t recommend it as it is dangerous for the kid and other people. At 5 and 6 they should be able to take turns and have enough energy to make it through the day. That is what we did with a single and our 2 and 5 year old.

We rented a double, or rather SIL rented a double at AK in July. SIL's two are around :
Boy: 3.5, 42 inches ..40 ish pounds
Girl: 2.5, 35 inches ....35 ish pounds

They both fit well. My DD saw them riding together and wanted to sit with them( even though we brought her stroller.) At that time DD was 20 months nearly 36 inches and 33 pounds. All three of them definitely did not fit. Nice for 2, not for 3. It would probably work for you though, as not all 3 will want to ride at once.... hopefully 😭. Have a great trip!

Thats the plan. My worry is more about having to take a double stroller with us vs just renting at disney parks. Weve always taken a double and a single- now theyll be walking 95% of the time anyway, and I dont want to walk to lug around my stroller. But still need one to carry stuff around/kids when they get tired etc.

Just realizing that MAYBE towards the end, they may all be tired. Wondering if the bench seat may be more forgiving for 3 little tushies, or if it may be better to just suck it up and bring my own.

Oh no! Thats what i kind of assumed. But i definitely dont want to carry a stroller around either. I DOUBT theyll all want to sit at the same time, though. Theyre all walking age and the only time we have used a stroller in ages has been at WDW.
I am willing to bet my middle son wont sit at all, but definitely dont want to limit him, either.

Im also kind of leery about spending 27 a day for that too, when mine is free. But I love that it just looks more convenient, everything in the open etc.

The in-park rentals don't have a storage/cargo basket. If you want to rent a stroller to carry "stuff" AND kids, you'll probably want something other than an in-park rental because when the kids want to ride you'll be lugging stuff while pushing. Would a couple of cheap umbrella strollers work? Maybe with the connectors to make it a double?

Enjoy your vacation!

Hm, I’d probably either bring your double or rent the Bob double from an outside company. Our kids are similar ages (5,3, nearly 2 on a recent international trip; 4, 2, 1.5 on our last Disneyland trip). On the international trip we did the super compact foldable babyjogger City Tour? (1 single stroller only, super lightweight and in a pinch we could smush 2 kids in there). We found that our middle kid walked 6-8ish miles a day before he maxed out. The 5 year old could make it 10-12 though she definitely whined the last few miles or so.

On our last Disneyland trip we brought our city double and sometimes the oldest squished in there (we’ve found it easiest if she sat first and the littlest sat on her lap). But for the most part she was fine walking it as a 4 year old.

We’re heading to WDW in january (5,3,2) and again planning to bring the city double. It’s a tough call because the tour single was so lovely and small in airports and going out to dinner could fold so small and fit under a table etc BUT I think we’ll appreciate the double again at WDW (I hope anyway).

I think the Bob double would be even more ideal because the shared footwell is better placed for a tagalong third kid.

We were just there in September with my kids who are 6, 4 and 3. We rented a Citi Mini double which was great for storage, but was a pain to keep folding up on the bus. A few times all three of them tried to squeeze in there but they didn't really fit.

My husband was only there for 4 days and I didn't want to lug that heavy thing on the bus, so we rented a double at the park one day. Oh how I wish we had done that from the beginning! It was so much lighter and easier to push than the Citi! Plus all three of them could fit on it (two seated and one in the footwell) and I was still able to push it with no problem. The only cons were no storage and def would not be comfy for naps, but my 3 year old only naps sporadically anyway.

Don't carry as much stuff to the park especially when you are talking about a cooler. Buy what you need, don't spend all day in the park. Go for a few hours, go back to the resort to nap or swim, head back to the park around dinner time. If you bring a stroller (rented or your own) the park, you have to unload it to get on any bus. So you carry all that junk, the stroller and maybe a kid. When the kids get tired, find a place to sit and rest or go back to the resort. Pushing the kids to stay all day just makes for cranky kids and parents.

This is EXACTLY why we were hoping to do this! The older kids would walk so often and I hate the idea of lugging out stroller.

I figured we could fit "stuff" on the footwell and honestly, my sister is bringing her beast of a stroller of we need her to carry anything. Worst case, hubs can carry the cooler backpack (or a kid- whichevers lighter).

We go often and while I appreciate the insight, this doesnt work for us. At 4 dollars a bottle of water, with 6 kids, a soft sided cooler is a must to carry drinks. We go through 24-30 bottles a day....thats over 100+ dollars if we purchased at the parks. No way!

Plus, going to the hotel midday never worked for us. It just creates a bunch of whining kids who want to go back to the parks. We are master unloaders, and the bus people (or tram if we drive)comment on how quick and efficient we are. But the idea this time is that I dont want to deal with our own stroller at all. Its bulky and the kids are mostly walking now. Id much rather rent so we can leave it at the park at the end of the night.

Yes, or bring stroller hooks with you and just hang it on there! We fit most of our stuff into a backpack and I was able to hang it off the back.

I mean the only real negative with the park stroller was if someone wanted to nap. I def think it would be hard for them to get comfortable in there but maybe you can steal your sisters stroller for that lol

My kids dont nap! I mean, I wish, because at disney ID like a nap....

A stroller hook sounds like a great idea! We have 1 backpack of essentials(sunscreen, meds, hoodies, etc) and 1 backpack thats a cooler for water, so they can easily hang!

I think you would be fine to rent a double stroller. In the mornings when everyone is running on fresh feet it could be used more for carrying your stuff and maybe 1 kid. As the day goes on your stuff will be less and there will be more room for kids. While fitting 3 may not work, they can take turns and you may have one that just doesn’t want to use it. As for weight, I have seen some pretty big kids in them but I think the issue will be the 3 bodies. I wouldn’t lug my own stroller for 4,5,6 year olds. We just went to DL and DSIL used one for the 4 year old but just so we could get from place to place faster. She walked most the time.

How much do they weigh? I'm thinking your decimals are off by one place?

If they are 64.5, 54.4, and 44.2 pounds, that's 163 pounds of kid, way over the in-park double stroller limits, I think? Plus, if you find a way to strap on all the stuff you say you need to bring, that will add even more weight. Even having your two heavier kids in the stroller is 18 pounds over the limit.

Pretty sure its:
6 year old is 45 pounds
5 year old is 44 pounds
4 year old is 42 pounds.

Small for their ages, compared to my monster sized grandsons (who I had walk and no stroller at age 5- too big to lift/push for sure). My 6 year old GS is currently nearly 65 pounds!

Yes! This exactly. They are very slim and bony, except my chunky 4 year old. Lol.

As far as the water is concerned you might find it easier and a lighter load to forgo the cooler and just refill the water bottles at the new filtered water stations Disney installed throughout the parks. I know there is one in Tomorrow Land not sure where the rest are but easy to find out. Or you can just grab the ice water cups available at all QS. One refillable container per person is a lot easier to carry than 24-30 bottles of water.
HTH and GL.
