In park prices food and drink jumped yesterday

I think Disney looked at the soda prices at NFL and MLB games and figured, why not. MLB games ranged from $6.50-$4.00, sizes from 24-16oz. But in a cup with ice most 24oz drinks are still less then 16oz in a bottle. Look how much people will pay for soda and popcorn at a movie theater. Taking that all into account the Disney prices don't seem so bad after all.

I guess, but I'm not at an MLB game or a movie theater for a week straight. And I know people must buy it because they sell it, but I can't even remember the last time I purchased snacks or drinks at a movie theater. I just eat before I go.... the movie ticket alone is expensive enough.

I just returned from WDW and am looking over my food receipts. I did not read this post before I went so I didn't really take notice of price changes, but I can cite some actual costs.

Oct. 4-7, 2018

Magic Kingdom

Dole Whip cup: $4.99 (I have a receipt from Oct. 2015 and it was $4.19)
Churros with chocolate dip: $5.89
Regular coffee: $3.29

Liberty Tree Tavern:
Patriot's Slush $7.00 (listed as $5.50 on WDW info menu)
Fountain lemonade (Minute Maid) $4.29
Pot roast: $20
Cheeseburger: $16

Epcot
Italy F/W stand: Rigatoni $7 (so good, but I thought this was expensive)
Bottle of Sprite at African Outpost: $3.99
Norway Schoolbread: $3.99
Australia F/W stand: Lamington Cake $3.75 (delicious)
FW Wine & Dine Studio: Butternut Squash Ravioli $4.50 (probably the best thing I ate the whole trip)

Hollywood Studios
Joffries Cart
Bottle of Coke (I missed my morning coffee) $4.22
Iced mocha $5.69
***Joffrey's gives a 20% discount if you pay with Disney Visa, but the soda price (before discount) is 23 cents more expensive than the price I paid at Epcot.

Animal Kingdom
Lemonade slush at Mombasa Marketplace $4.99
Popcorn $5.00

Food Court at All Star Music
Berry Salad $10.49 (didn't care for, thought it was way overpriced)
Chicken nuggets (8) and fries $10.99
Kids nuggets and fries with jello & milk $7.19 (I thought this was a much better value than adult meal and portion size was too big for me)

This is just a sampling of some things we ate/drank but it might be helpful for someone with planning. We carried a refillable water bottle everywhere and asked for free ice water every time we bought something.

Those $5 soda prices are what we saw when in Vegas a few months ago. We didn't pay them. Thank goodness for the CVS and Walgreens on the strip. We just may consider purchasing a quantity from a grocery store or something. Just to at least have in the room.

Lol no, they’re doing this because they can, don’t want to use their bonuses on the new wage increase and in other countries soda is around the new price. Someone I watch on YouTube went to London and a Coke half the size was $5 in USD.

You were misinformed. A 500ml (16 oz.) bottled Coke in London cost the equivalent of $1.60 - $1.80 at most convenience stores — cheaper than what 7-11 and most gas stations charge here.

And more Americans travel to Mexico than the UK. At convenience stores in Mexico, a 600ml (20 oz.) bottled Coke will run you .60 to .80 — even directly across the beach...

When we were there in Aug we saw different princes for snacks at different locations which i thought was odd.....

Mickey Pretzel with Cheese:
$6.00 at MK Popcorn Cart
$6.00 at ST Churro
$5.69 at Lunching Pad

Mickey IC Sandwich and Mickey Premium Bar
$4.69 Each at The Mara
$5.00 Each at AK Theatre in the Wild

I did not even notice till I got home and I was looking at everything! So who knows with all the price changes how little changes like these will be all over the parks.
