In Park Food Reservations?

Does anyone have any idea when in park food reservations will be able to be made?

I see Downtown Disney is mostly available, but I have not been able to make any reservations in Disneyland or DCA. Mainly looking for Plaza Inn, but any information will be helpful. I don't see anything on any of the updates on the webpage.

My ticket reservations are for June 18th/19th, but I've tried dates all over the next 60 days and found nothing.

Thanks for any insight!

Plaza Inn only normally does reservations for the character breakfast which we currently don't know when it's returning. For lunch/dinner it changes to CS and mobile order will be available. No reservations needed!

Some reservations are already available now and have been for a bit (many have already been able to reserve Lamplight for after the parks reopen). But yes, official statement said dining reservations for in park are supposed to open April 22 as stated above :)

thanks! One issue we are running to is we have park hoppers that start in DCA… unfortunately can’t switch now. Do we think they’ll let us in if we have early resos at Plaza Inn?

I would say call guest services and ask them. My guess is no and that you would need to make the reservations for after one, or for a day you start in that park, but I could be wrong.

As I said: you cannot make a reservation for Plaza Inn. It is not table service for lunch/dinner and breakfast is not currently being offered. You can make a mobile order for Plaza Inn, but that is not the same as a reservation. It will not gain you entry for sure.

And not likely even if you have a reservation for one of the actual table service restaurants in DL. In the past, closed entry has meant closed entry. The no show fee is waived in these cases. There have been exceptions, but you cannot rely on it.

No. I can't find it now, but something in the fine print said that a dining reservation will not get you park entrance. Also, it is highly unlikely that the character breakfast is coming back, which is the only part of Plaza Inn that requires reservations. Lunch/Dinner do not.

Yep, our main goal was character dining. Any recommendations on making a 2 year old’s birthday extra special (obviously it’ll be special since we are at Disneyland.).

I hope more reservations for LL and Carthay open on then22nd....there have been 0 since the 15th and I hope that's because they're withholding additional reservations until the 22nd.

As far as I know, LL is the only in-park restaurant that you could reserve prior to 4/22. Availability at Carthay should definitely open up on 4/22.

I've seen reservations for LL this week (I could get 6 at 130p on 5/1 yesterday.)

As the mother of a 2 year old, I’m gonna say that they don’t know much about “making things extra special” for a birthday. Pretty sure my 2.5 year old still doesn’t even understand the concept of birthdays. Your entire day will be special! I would probably just buy an awesome cupcake from Jolly Holiday and take a great picture at your table with your masks off.

I saw one for 6 on one of my days and the minute I hit confirm, it completely disappeared and bounced me back to the list, which no longer included it. It was frustrating! That actually happened to me on two different days.

ETA: just checked again and there was one for a late lunch on one of our days & I was able to snag it! 🎉

Love this idea about the cupcake from Jolly Holiday, such an adorable place and the cupcakes are so cute! As a momma of four 2yr olds (once upon a time, not all at once LOL) I can attest to this strategy! Based on that young of an age, getting some cute pics together on that day will be the memories that you and your child will look back on.

This won't actually make the day more special, but it's so fun to look back on. We're in CA but not DL locals, and I started taking my DGD on trips to DL when she was 2 1/2. She's going to turn 13 next month, and every time we went to DL, I took a picture of her at the door to Rabbit's house, tucked in between Alice and the Tea Cups rides. It is so cute to look back on those pictures now and see how she has grown and changed, all while standing by that little door. If you plan on more DL trips, maybe you could do this.

Also, be sure to get her a birthday button from Kingswell Camera Shop since you're starting your day in DCA. Cast members and even other park visitors will wish her a happy birthday all day long while she's wearing her button. You may even get Pixie Dusted. :)

I take my kids' picture at that same exact spot every trip! At 17, 15, 12 & 10 they don't fit quite as well - which makes that much more special!
